David updated a blog on the main page at DCO.
It's cute and sweet...make me  him more! MY XMAS BLOG "OK, as I write this, I am putting the finishing touches on gift wrapping for the first time in literally 3 years. It’s been amazing just to be able to buy gifts this year, as opposed to convincing my brother to throw my name on things, and I’ll pay him back. (Which I never could…). By the way, I’m still holding out hope that he forgot about my little IOU, so keep it to yourself… I certainly hope that each of you have an incredibly happy holiday season. Eat good food, get some cool stuff, GIVE some cool stuff, but most importantly, enjoy the time with the ones you care about. The one’s who let you show up to Christmas without presents and still love you all the same. It makes it all the sweeter when you finally get to pay them back for their patience. ☺ See you guys in ’09. ~D P.S. – If you’re looking for something to fill that last little space at the rim of the stocking…. Seems like he wrote it Christmas Eve and just posted it. He's amazing. No one deserves the wonderful reversal of fortune more than he. It's so gratifying to see an artist reap rewards in his lifetime! Especially when his art provides so much pleasure to so many people.

Couldn't agree more Scott! He had paid his dues over the last decade, and it's nice to see such a talented person finally rise to the top.
We may not know all there is to know aobut Mr. Cook, but enough to know...he is deserving of the attention!  I thought that too about being Christmas Eve...seems he was wrapping at the last minute!!

LOL about pitching his album in the blog... I must add a few comments & observations here.
I think there are always new people to the site, so why not? I also think that was a big wink and a nod to us. David can be very tongue in cheek and snarky (love that about him). Thirdly, there's a wonderful little side to David that's finally emerging publicly: he really does want this album to do killer sales! I still don't think he cares about "superstardom," but he wants success and he wants it bad. He wants DCTR to do as well as it can, because he's so proud of it (and rightfully so!) and it will allow him to have the clout and creative freedom to do what he wants on the next album, and the one after that. It's vindication that he knows what he's doing and that he knows what works for him... and that will allow him to continue to make a living doing it. |

What was it..."Don't have to love me, but don't ignore me..." or something like that! (as if) I think when he's to a point in his career where that 3rd album is a shoe in, he will settle in his need to prove himself. Face it, the 1st album was a gimme. He was guaranteed that from winning Idol. A 2nd album is simply expected. WHEN he gets to the 3rd album, that will be the difining moment in his career. The one that everyone will listen to for a true glimpse of David. That's the one....that will define him. |

Aw, how sweet of him to write that especially when he's wrapping gifts at the last minute. It kind of sounded like me. I've been working so much and had so little time to wrap gifts. I stayed up late a couple of nights last week to get it done. I hope he and the family had a great Christmas and of spending time together.
