Heartless was amazing. It blew the original and the Fray cover right out of the water. I hope he makes it to the finale and cause a huge upset tonight (as one of the "chosen ones" won't be in the finale).

when kris did heartless last night it BLEW ME AWAY! i have always liked his songs. and the way he adds his own style to them...but this was absolutely amazing. not only was he playing the guitar, but he sang without any backup or other music. and that takes a lot a of talent to pull off something like that, and not to mention guts. kris's version was way better than kanye west's. i dont like kanyes music, but i had to go listen to his version so i could compare it to kris's. WOW. did i say kris is amazing.
you know. he has always reminded me of Jason Mraz, who happens to be my all time favorite singer next to david! and when kris did heartless i thought. WOW that is soo mrazy. if you dont know jason mraz's stuff and like kris, i would suggest listening to his stuff. its great. i really hope kris wins. and danny in second. i really dont like adam. he is a performer. he has a good voice, but needs to be in a play or something not on idol. kris and danny on the other had are superb in singing. THEY deserve it more than adam. please dont take offense to what i am saying. i am only stating my opinion. if you agree then great. if you dont, well then please dont bash me. thanks. |

I also am so tired of the judges' constant pimping of Adam and their disrespect for everyone else. I just don't know why they are trying so hard to pass Adam off as some rock god. He's not; he's a Vegas-style performer who happens to have a really good voice, but I'm so turned off by his screeching, strutting, and posing, not to mention the layers of makeup. I much prefer the genuine artistry of Kris. He grew on me slowly, over the season (unlike David Cook Everyone seems to think Adam is a slam-dunk for the win, but I seriously think Kris has a good chance against Adam, if he gets by Danny this week. I think Adam will be in the finals and then if Danny goes home this week, I think Danny's votes go to Kris in the finals and Kris wins!! I can't see Danny voters voting for Adam. Okay, so this is weird, but I'm replying to my own post Does anyone else think it was blatantly unfair for Katy Perry to wear Adam Lambert on her cape?!! This is what I meant about the pimping of Adam. Last year, they pulled Analog Heart from Amazon because they didn't want to give Cook any advantage over other contestants. This year, Adam is on the cover of EW and that's okay with them??? They "mistakenly" posted the AI sales at iTunes to show that Adam had the most downloads. Adam has had the pimp position in the line-up more than half the time and when he wasn't last, he was first. They always set him apart from everyone else. I was re-watching the top 7 tonight and during the group performance everyone had sunglasses on except, of course, Adam and he was center stage. Adam's white Hummer limo was even set apart from Kris and Danny's standard black limos (okay, maybe I'm stretching it a little; don't know if AI had a choice on ordering the limos, but I don't put it past them.) I am just so angry about the blatant attempt at manipulation. I just can't wait until next week when KRIS ALLEN is crowned winner of AI 8 to show the judges and the producers of AI that America can't be manipulated into picking the producers' choice. Okay, rant over. I'm very happy for Kris and his family. I feel bad for Danny, but I think he'll have a nice career in Adult Contemporary. Can't wait til the next time I can see my one true American Idol, David Cook |

Kris KILLED it last night! Heartless was the first time that I was truly captivated by a performance this season. Yea there have been some spectacular ones, but that one just exceeded all expectations! I really hope that Dial Idol's predictions are correct!! I've always thought that Adam was amazing and I'd pay BIG BUCKS to see him on Broadway, but I know that of all of them Kris is going to have the most main stream success and is going to make a phenomenal album... PLUS he's from my area, and David voted for him during top 36 because he was playing in Conway that night! Yes and hopefully next week he will b adding a new title to his name - he cant replace D.C. but hes good |

Can't wait til the next time I can see my one true American Idol, David Cook You are 100% correct and I don't blame Adam at all. Last year, I felt like they intentionally gave Syesha a bad producers pick and David the best song and spot just to insure that finale. I think DC was ahead at that time from what I heard, but they had to guarentee DA's spot. I really thought that was unfair to her. This year, it is rediculous. I WOULD LOVE to see Kris win this, not only because he's my favorite, but because of all you have mentioned. No disrespect to Adam, but I would love to see this backfire on the producer's of this show. You would get a great American Idol and the producers would see that they can't do this to the public. I also have to add that Kris' homecoming, with all the emotion and him playing concerts everywhere should help him along. I felt like I knew him and his family and wouldn't you just like to BBQ with them on a Sunday afternoon? Didn't get that at all from Adam althought I'm sure he's a nice guy and his Mom was touching. I just can't get a handle on who he really is as a person. I get the persona, but not the person. I'm sure he's helping a lot of kids though know they can be who they are and its OK and for that I applaud him. But he didn't even really sing, not that we saw anyway. Back to the pimping thing, did you notice he went back to where his music roots took hold as a child? Hello? Already done last year by David. I didn't buy that the visit was truly organic. Maybe it was, IDK. It's like the limo thing. Everything is suspect in my book now and its too bad. GO KRIS!! I'll actually be voting even if it is just 10 votes or so! Jessica |

Can't wait til the next time I can see my one true American Idol, David Cook Absolutely! Couldn't believe that cape and the obvious pimpage all season has really annoyed me. I completely broke my promise to myself that I wouldn't vote this year, but Kris has grown on me all season and he's definitely my favorite. He's genuine and talented and I can't wait to buy his CD! Voted probably 20 times on Tuesday night - haven't done that all season - LOL! I enjoyed the homecoming shots too - we've visited Little Rock a couple times and have been in that amphitheater... Adam, on the other hand to me, has been acting the part of rock star all season - doesn't feel genuine to me at all. He's a performer, for sure, but I can't see myself buying his CD when I wouldn't be seeing him. He's a cooler version of Taylor Hicks to me. But, I'm with you - the highlight of next week will be David's return for the finale. He's MY American Idol! |

I usually like Katy Perry's performances, but when she came out with the cape, I put my ipod on and started listening to David Cook. (I like the song she sang too, but after listening to a little part of it, I couldn't do it). I wasn't going to vote either, but on Tuesday (after reading a bit on this forum and a poster saying we needed a Danny/Kris finale, which I agreed with) I started voting for Kris and I will vote for him next week. He's talented enough to win it and I want to see the biggest upset to American Idol ever. Kris is an artist I can see myself listening to. If I listened to Adam's CD I would probably have a headache by the time it was over.
Kris is genuine and humble and has remained that way throughout the competition, even when it's clear that the judges really couldn't care if he succeeds. At least that's the impression I get from one or two of them. I feel bad that Danny went home, he did amazingly on Tuesday (even with that song Paula picked for him). I wonder where all his votes are going to go. I hope David comes back for the finale! That's the only thing that'll make me sit and watch it. |

That Katy Perry stunt REALLY ticked me off. I've been posting this all over the place where people are talking about it, and here's what I think: It's one thing if you're a fan of the show, you go on some talk show and they ask you about your favorites, and you answer it. That's, you know, whatever. But to be a GUEST on the show and endorse someone that publicly, that's just unfair. I'd be ticked off even if there hadn't been a disgusting amount of Adam pimping this whole season, but add the Katy Perry cape to the judges drooling over him, SIMON telling people to vote for him, and him being the golden boy though he's not the most talented person there, and I just couldn't handle it. Stunts like that just shouldn't be allowed to fly.
I'm just really, really ticked off with the judges. You know, they have picked "favorites" before, but I can't remember ANY contestant that's barely ever gotten any bit of a bad critique. The worst thing I can remember them saying about Adam is that it wasn't as good as last week, or Simon's comment about Ring of Fire. Ugh. Even last season, it seemed like Archie was the favorite, and finale week it definitely seemed like he was going to win, but at least during the season he got some negative comments when he didn't do that great. I swear, Adam couldn't go wrong if he dressed up like Tina Turner and screeched out 'Mary Had A Little Lamb' Anyway. Sorry for the little mini-rant. I don't deny he's talented, he's just not as amazing as everyone says. And I'm sick of the pimping. I'm hoping for Kris to win, not only because he's my favorite (he was tied with Danny, but now obviously he's the only one left) but because I want to stick it to the judges that all the pimping in the world can't ensure that who you want to win will win. Alright, I'm actually done now, I promise. |

Yea that upset me to. I've loved Adam all season. At first when it seemed like Kris was just cannon fodder he was my favorite.. Mostly because I saw the vids of him from Wicked. I'll be honest I'll never stop watching AI because I always get attached to the contestants, but I HATE the producers. I don't like feeling manipulated. I think that, unless Idol makes some SERIOUS changes, then it's screwed. And I don't just mean adding a fourth judge. I mean like a complete and total makeover.

I just wanted to add that what often draws me to a performer/actor/artist is his or her personality and character as a human being. Nothing against Adam, but there is something really sweet about Kris and his relationship with his family. His homecoming really got to me and made me say that he had to win just because he seems like such a kind person with all this amazing talent. That is a really great combination for me. Again, not to say that Adan is not like that. I just see it coming through with Kris. I like that he is humble and genuinely shocked and delighted that he is where he is. Am I wrong, or did he not get much attention in the audition and Hollywood epeisodes of the show? For some reason, I felt like he came out of nowhere. Then again, I really didn't pay much attention to the show early on. I just remember saying when he made it through that first week, "Where did he come from?" Anyway, he and Adam were very close in votes last week, so I am very hopeful that there is a realistic chance that he will win this. I love an underdog!

You're right, MomOfTwo, he didn't get a lot of attention during the auditions and Hollywood week. I had the same reaction when he first performed for the Top 36. I was like "who is he?" but I liked his performance and was happy he made it through. I really hope he wins. Adam has been in the business for years and could have seriously made it by now, but Kris just keeps proving that he deserves it by throwing out these performances where he changes the songs up and makes them fit him. He really comes off as a humble person who can't believe where he's ended up.
Root for the underdog! |

The show didn't air here yet! What did he sing? What did the judges say? An incredible version of "Ain't No Sunshine." I loved it the first time but this was WAYYYYYYYYYY better. That was his song choice from the past weeks. Next the producer picked a lame "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye. Kris did a good job with a song that there wasn't much to do with. The last song was Kara's coronation song and it was a terrible song but Kris definitely outsang Adam and I don't say that just because I prefer Kris. It was just all wrong for Adam. Anyway, the first song for both of them was the best. The night just went down from there. Hope Kris pulls off the upset. dialidol has him ahead of Adam, but with their signature "too close to call" caveat. |
