Lol, I'm such a Dork. He asked my name and I said "Alex" and he goes "..A-L-E-X" I guess to make sure it wasn't Alice and I say "...as in Rodriguez...but not" and he starts laughing and goes "..ah, so..without the steroids" and I look him dead and the eyes and point and start yelling "Shut up..you know what..don't give me that!!" and he's in hysterics at this point.. and I'm like "what..wait a sec..it doesn't look like I could be on steroids like him? I mean..look at my arms?" and I flex my muscles and he's smiling and I stop and laugh, and he's like "no...wait..please do that again.." And I just look at him like he's got to be joking, and then he flexes his arms, so I do it again and he's smiling and goes "...wow..you do have some great definition there..excellent...but imagine what they'd look like if you actually were on the juice.." and I just nod and go "mmm....very true..." and we're both laughing and a woman from JC Penneys comes over and gets all pissy I'm holding the line up, and before I said anything he looks at her and goes "I'm so sorry, we were just talking!" So I look back at him and thank him and say I guess thats my cue and he gives a little sigh.. so I shook his hand and told him I'd see him tomorrow.

I left and I'm like "...wtf did I just do.."

hahaha Being a yankees fan myself this story made me laugh for a good 5 minutes!
to all of you who got to go and meet him...you're soooo lucky and thanks for sharing stories about it!!!

Thank you for sharing all the great stories. It is an awesome feeling to finally meet someone you have been wanting to meet for so long. I love the Alex story too - you can always talk baseball with David!!

The marketing minds at JC Penney cooked up three months of nearly daily activities to christen its first Manhattan store -- from a Paul Frank bike giveaway to specialized bra fittings -- but the place was really um, cooking, yesterday as season seven "American Idol" winner (who incidentally has collected a fair share of bras thrown onstage) showed up to sign autographs.

Penney's goal is to get shoppers to bypass Macy's on 34th Street and about 1,000 faithful seemed to do so as they crowded the Manhattan Mall for an audience with David Cook, in town to play the Nokia Theater tonight. Topping the queue was a mother-daughter duo from New Jersey waiting since 8:30 a.m. But by 4 p.m., when Cook was set to arrive, the crowd -- primarily women of all age groups, including a lot of squirming teenagers -- had taken over the entire atrium of the mall, with lines snaking around the ground floor and onlookers lining the upper levels.

The appearance was brokered by Skechers, which signed the rocker as frontman after his "Idol" win, and the autograph table was loaded with Skechers signage and product. Yet when Cook and his coterie of handlers arrived -- fashionably late -- he sported well-worn cowboy boots.

The Skecher-less Cook appeared to take the chaos in stride, left-handedly autographing CDs for adoring fans (some so adoring they actually sobbed at being in his presence), accepting gifts (homemade T-shirts, boxes of Cheez-Its among them) and cheerfully posing for pictures -- even with Ad Age editors.

In a brief interview, the gracious Cook -- who clearly knows where his bread is buttered -- warmly praised the brand and its chairman-CEO Robert Greenberg. Rick Graham, senior VP-sales, said the company is in discussions to continue its relationship with the singer. "You couldn't ask for anyone better as a celebrity endorser," Graham said. "He's done a lot for our men's business. Our demo has gotten younger. We've always had a young demo, but he brought some hipness to it, some cool to it."

So given his evident popularity, what other brands might Cook get into bed with beyond Skechers and Gibson, which provides his guitars? When asked by Ad Age about future partnerships, he demurred, preferring not to eliminate any possibilities. "I'd be willing to look into anybody," he said. "Any organization that I believe in what they're doing, I'm on board with."

Just popping in to share my awesome experience and a few pictures.

So, I get off the plane to New York around noon. Kateland and I were just about going insane the whole plane ride, but we finally got there. So we immediately drop off our bags at the hotel and rush to JCP. We get there and the line already looks huuuuge, and we were like WOW. This dude gives us blue wristbands, which were for the second hundred group of people, but we were like 110 or so. So, we wait and wait and wait and wait for what seems like foreeeeever, and the line moves up, but David's still not here. He finally get's there at 4:42 because of that Mets game (It's okay David, I still love you ) And the line starts going. While in line, Kateland's got her Axium CD, and is holding on to it, but at one point, she drops it. D: Fortunately, only the front part breaks and she can just replace that. So, we continue waiting. They're letting people down in group of 10 at a time, and of course, we're first in our group of ten. We don't want to be first cause we're reaking out, so we let a few people that were behind us in front of us. So, they let us down the escalator, and we see David, and he looked SO CUTE. And Andrew was there too behind the table, and he was adorable! So, we wait for it to be our turn, and finally it is. David looks us up and down (And I'm like thinking "Whaaaaat's he looking aaaat?") and gives us this adorbale wave! ♥ And he says "You two girls" -(BOTH OF US? I've never met him, only a little wave?!)- "look very, VERY familiar..." And Kateland is like "I made you this!" without even responding and hands her the scrapbook she made. He opens the first page and says "That's it!" And does all this adorable hand-slam-on-the-table, point, and adorableness action. And so he looks at the scrapbook and is impressed, and Andrew's looking over his shoulder. In all the pictures, Andrew's creeping around in the background lol. So a few seconds later, when he's done withg the scrapbook, Kateland hand's him her axium CD, (which she made look like she didn't purposely break xD), and he was really impressed, showed it to Andrew and Kateland said something along the lines of "It's genuine!" And he's like "I can tell!" And my friend words to David Cook: "I feel like such a slacker, not having an Axium CD or anything!" I'm not sure if I even meant to say it! xD But he's like "You should!" and laughs. x] And so Kateland also gets her Royals hat signed and hugs him and waves at Andrew. Then I hand him my CD, and I'm like "Will you put 'I ♥ Olivia'?" and he's like "Yeah, yeah of course." And I see him write it, but then he starts writing more, smaller. I'm thinking "Whaaaat's he wriiiiiting?!" He hands me my CD and starts cracking up. Under I ♥ Olivia, he added in parentheses, "(slacker)". So of course we both laughed, and I think I said something else to him but I don't remember what... I barely remember this cause I was so like AAAAH! But I get quiet and shy when I'm excited like that, I wasn't like freaking out on David. but so, I get a hug, and it was like THE BEST HUG EVER. ♥ Even if it was over a table. So, we say thanks and bye, and walk off, and I proceed to freak out over my CD. SO CUTE. AAAAAH! And Kateland was like "He was SO flirting with youuu!" SQUEEEE. ♥ But that's the story of the meet and greet.
