lie was incredible! he did it like that at the Atlanta show. chill bumps! i thought they were supposed to do a duet too sad.gif i missed Elf because i was waiting for the duet sad.gif

I'm confused - why are you made at those people ? Did I miss something here.
In a magazine I read a quote that Carrie said the best part of her show was singing with David Cook because he is one of her favorite people. They must have taped a duet but didn't air it. Is that what you are talking about ? Did they duet a Van Halen song and they were not allowed to air it ??

They did a great duet but, apparently, it didn't get cleared first. I attended the taping, so I saw it (twice) and I really enjoyed it. Too bad it didn't make the final cut.

I'm not mad about it, though. I'm equally disapointed that we didn't get the version of Blue Christmas that Sons of Sylvia taped as well. They did a great job.

All in all, I thought it was a good special. I really enjoyed all of the music.

In my opinion, David's performance was the highlight of the show. The rest of it had a few funny lines, but overall it was a bit quirky.

I kept watching after David's set to see if he would make another appearance, either the duet or in a skit, but it didn't happen. sad.gif

Oh well, Lie was beautiful, and not to mention him, as well. smile.gif I just wish they would have shown shots of the band. Have to give them their props, too. laugh.gif

I loved the performance of Lie. He sang it like that in Oregon on the tour. Heart felt lyrics, spot on vocals...David makes me smile when he sings. He's gorgeous in so many ways.

I did the same thing DVR'd it and went through it twice 'cuz I thought I missed the duet - CRAP!!!! They sound so good together too! Anyway, agreed - Lie was incredible hope we see more of David soon what are we going to do until 2010?

Jeannine, I'm so jealous. I so wanted to hear and see them sing Why Can't This Be Love? I still can't believe how the producers couldn't get it cleared. David mentioned on some radio interviews that they were still working on clearances the Friday before.

They had weeks both before and after. sigh.

His performance was absolutely beautiful though.

Well I DVR'd it & quickly fast-forwarded it to his part. Then I played it over & over & over again. It was perfection. Of course, on USAtoday Idol Blog Brian did not even mention David Cook's performance whatsoever. What is his problem?

I sat and watched the whole thing and DVR'ed it too. I was so pissed that I sat there and watched all of that bull$#!+ skits that were unbelievably stupid and moronic and got no duet. 2 hours out of my life and only got 4 good minutes out of it yeesh! I also thought there would be a little more Christmas music and Brad Paisley was visa sattlite, I was looking forward to seeing him on there too. I don't get what the heck they mean by clearance.
