I agree with you and Willow. I see this as a promotional thing for David. It also seems to me that this was kinda thrown in here at the last minute, (which I may be totally wrong) But I can't help to also wonder if TPTB realize this is a lackluster year and want David to help fire it up. He definately is the man for that job. I'm so exicited for tonight the anticipation is just killing me, it's been so long since he has been on tv. I'm like a teenage girl going out on her first date with a boy she has secretly loved for a long time.

The good news from Shirley Halperin at the LA Times' Idol Blog is that David is planning an April release for the first single from the new album, so I think it's pretty much 100% guaranteed that we'll be seeing David again on another Wed Results Show in May (or maybe even the Finale) to debut the single. So having David on tonight's show is just a fun bonus.

Wow, this has sure been a busy topic today! I like it!
Anyhoo. Having a single released in April, I'm sure he'll be on again for Idol Gives Back or on the finale. I can't wait for then. The thought of a new single is exciting me, lol. I'm just so ready for some new music. DCTR is getting old, and I barely listen to it anymore. These next few months can't go by fast enough! But for now, I have tonight to look forward to. Only 4 1/2 more hours! Is it bad that I'm counting down? LOL. |

That would be fantastic if he can debut his single sometimes towards the end of the Idol season. If he is going to release a single in April, there is a good chance he'll perform it on A.I. or at least I certainly hope so!!!
In any case, I'm not worried about what he'll sing tonight. Nobody does covers like David Cook and that's why we all fell in love with him. He takes a song and makes it his own & makes it current. Jump'n Jack Flash has been around for a long time. It's dated. Let's see what life he puts into it and how he can add something to it to make it fantastic & current. |
