....so did y'all take advantage of that ADORABLE thingy Cookie offered up for us?!!!!
...oh man I was soooooo excited when I saw that!!! ...I immediately sent one to my Mom, best Momma in the World, I'm just sayin' ..and just a cute little story too--- the other day I was at a department store register buyin' some stuff.. my big ol' keychain/keys were laying on the counter, on it of course the David Cookie keychain being sold during the 'Declaration' Tour... I wasn't really paying attention and all of a sudden the cashier kind of yells out, 'OHHHHHHH!!! David COOK!!!" ... &%#$@ I thought Holy CR@P as I whirled around expecting to see him there or something!!!!!! LOLLLL!!! ..."OH MY GOSH I just LOVEEEEEEEE HIM!!!" LOL then I realize..... it's the *keychain*!!! ...but it was ADORABLE... this girl was probably about 18-20 ...she was saying how much she LOVES him, then proceeds to kind of lean in to me and says, '..and you know what? ..he was on 'American Idol' last week.. and he was singing.. and you know what ELSE?! ...oh my Gosh he is sooooooo HOTTTTT!!!!! " LOLOL!!!!!!! ...it was just adorable, and I stood there agreeing with every word she uttered as we both laughed and squeeed like little school girls, and as the party behind me got such a kick out of all of it too ..and as I was walking away I was just thinking, like I often do... 'Wow... he just comes across to just SOOOO many pepole-- here's an 18/20 year old.. me.. 30's... my Mom... now 71 ... he just appeals to everyone... across the board... |

The cashier squeeing about David is priceless. And I love the part that she was 18/20 years old too. |

Nope, didn't send any and didn't ask for one sent to me. I notice that more and more artists are utilizing this e-card idea as a way of promotion. Hey, whatever works. If it gets the word out about the music, do whatever you can. Just not interested myself. I did find it sad to see so some fans feel the need to send one to themselves. I'm sure my daughters would have had one sent to me if I had asked, but I didn't feel the need to have one.
My biggest Mother's Day Gift, other than receiving very nice cards from my daughters and going to a taping session of the X Factor auditions (yay, Simon!!!), was having the opportunity to attend a performance by a musician near and dear to my heart Friday night. He had put music on the back burner to pursue a different career (saddened me to no end because he is so extremely talented, but you do what you have to do) and I hadn't seen him for almost 3 years. I can't begin to express how wonderful it was to hear him again and for us to catch up on each others lives. I am still smiling and look forward to seeing him again...hopefully soon. I am glad he has decided to fit in a little music once in a while during his very busy schedule. It is amazing how great it is to be able to listen to music that you truly love. Musicians are such a talented and interesting breed. I really enjoy them. Great story about the key chain. I don't have anything on me with a likeness for people to recognize, but, if the subject does happen to come up, I am always pleased when the person actually knows who David Cook is. Many ask what he is up to because they haven't heard anything about him for so long. I'm glad that dry spell is ending. Jeannine |
