I'm a huge bookworm, so I figured I'd start up a little thread like this so I could find out what my fellow DC enthusiasts also keep ready for reading on their nightstand.
Name the title and author of the book you're currently reading. Can't get much simpler than that.  My current selection: "Simply Irresistible: Unleash Your Inner Siren and Mesmerize Any Man, With Help from the Most Famous - and Infamous - Women in History" by Ellen T. White (Before you start asking, I'm reading it for a book review.  )

I'm reading Slumming by Kristin D. Randle and so far it is a pretty interesting book.
For days though I have been thinking of reading Dispatches From the Edge by Anderson Cooper again. I read it a few months back, and loved it. It automatically went to the top of my favorites. It is an amazing book. Really makes one think. (plus I've had a huge crush on Cooper for years! haha) so I think I'm going to pick it up again after I finish Slumming. |

I'm reading Time Traveler's Wife right now. Well, I'm supposed to, but the thing is I procrastinated. x_x
I've started reading it 5 weeks ago, and then just stopped about two weeks ago. @_@; Blah, better finish it before the movie is out. |

usually i read around 5 books at a time, but with the stress of exams coming up, i've narrowed it down to one Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson once exams are done i plan on rereading Holes by Louis Sacher and the Harry Potter series, as well as a new book, Never Mind the Goldbergs by Matthue Roth

Hahah, I'm a book worm too. Everyone I know - offline, that is - makes fun of me for it, but heck.
This Book Will Save Your Life... I actually didn't care for it. Gasp! I like some of A.M. Holmes's other works, but this one was just... bleh. I didn't like the way it was written, the way whatever the characters said seemed like a forced line fed to an actor... sigh. Even the characters themselves seemed like truisms. I have to say I'm glad my mum paid for it. :/ My favourite genre is fantasy, so I'm currently digging through a book called Legends (edited by Robert Silverberg), which is a compilation of short novels by popular fantasy authors. Almost done! And the first is still the best! Gotta love Stephen King. Gooo gunslingers! Also open are Merrick by Anne Rice and A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby. I'm really liking the latter. I just finished rereading The Brethren by John Grisham, too. The Firm's the best of his novels (in my opinion, anyway - my dad thinks A Time to Kill is, heh), but, like all of them, The Brethren's good. Am I the only one who isn't particularly crazy about the Harry Potter series? Granted, I really like The Order of the Phoenix, but that's about it.  |

I love reading too! I am a huge dork when it comes to books...I am a Harry Potter fan so keeping with the same sorta...kinda theme...I am currently reading the Dresden Files books by Jim Butcher...I am on book 3...I am also reading the Ghost Hunters book and A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. I don't usually do Oprah's bookclub books but A New Earth got such great reviews, I couldn't help myself!

I used to be a major bookworm as well. I never had a time where I wasn't reading something. Right now though, I haven't been reading all that much. I mean I'm in the middle of reading Victoria Beckham's autobiography, Learning To Fly, but I haven't thought about reading it for over a week already.

Naked in Death by JD Robb (Nora Roberts) for the ump-teenth time
I recommend this series to anyone who loves thrillers that involve crimes/forensics (murders mostly) I LOVE Patricia Cornwell, but I haven't been as pleased with her last two books. She just seems so jaded. I just finished the second book in the Sign of Seven trilogy also by Nora Roberts. Jessica
