Some people were asking in another thread about the bracelets David was wearing in the People Magazine spread, and I wanted to let anyone who doesn't know yet about the purple and gray swirled "DAVID COOK ROCKS" bracelet. The bracelet has been sold since April, and the original goal was to raise money for Adam to attend the finale, as well as raising money for the American Brain Tumor Association. Now that the finale is over, the bracelet is still selling, and now half the proceeds are going to a fund set up at the Cooks' local bank, to cover some of Adam's medical expenses. The other half of the proceeds are still going to the ABTA - a wonderful organization which raises money and awareness for brain tumor research.

The other great part about the bracelet is that it's an obvious symbol of support that we can all wear to the tours this summer to show our David Cook pride. And since David has one and knows what it's about, he'll be able to recognize his fans as well, and know that they are helping both his family and issues that he cares deeply about.

So, here's a link to the website where you can purchase the bracelets, and find out tons more information, including pictures!

Thanks so much! And don't forget to bump this if you think it's important!

Thanks for posting this here. I'm new enough to this that I hadn't heard about this, but I went right over and ordered one! I've been thinking that I would rather find a way to donate right to Adam, since having both parents die of cancer, I know the devastating financial burden this can cause a family trying to cope with everything that comes with a diagnosis. I would like to see my support go right to his family. My mind boggles at the thought of this disease being part of their family for 10 years! They must be incredibly strong people and the whole Cook family have my deepest admiration.

Muchas gracias, wordnerds, Cookies, cougars 4 cook, etc! You are all so generous! There's been a huge bump in sales since posting this. I've had to order another shipment of 500 bracelets, fabulous!

I can't believe how this bracelet thingy took off. Think about this - all from the sale of some rubber bracelets, we have raised almost $10,000 - for the Cook family and for the American Brain Tumor Association. Doesn't that seem like an incredible amount??? We're really making a difference! Thank you so much to everyone who has ordered one. I'm working to get them out as fast as I can. I hope those who have gotten theirs already are wearing them with pride! I can't imagine how much David will appreciate seeing how many fans support him and the issues he cares about. Y'all rock, hard! cool.gif

I wear mine every day and I love that DC wears one, too! (makes me feel closer to him, for some reason.)

You can also see it on DC's wrist in the pic from the WM concert:

And somewhere on this site is the link to the really, really big HQ version where you can distinctly read "David Cook Rocks" on it!

And although you'd never really be able to pick me out, my arm with my bracelet on it made it on the "Today Show" in a crowd scene during David's performance.

I just ordered mine! Thanks for updating this as those of us who were sort of late to the party might have missed out. I'll proudly wear mine and I'm honored to help the cause. I personally know victims of brain cancer and it's so tough (as is all cancer forms). Every little bit helps find a link to a cure.

I also wear mine everyday and I love it that David wears his all the time. I received my bracelet on the day of finale and haven't taken it off since!

That's great that you were there to see David on the "Today Show!" That must have been amazing to be so close to him.
