My Last Request
When your smile becomes the reason I breathe And your eyes become the motive to see And if it's better for your health To see the love, it lives in someone else And all that I can say All that I can say is She's my last request Everything else is suddenly taken over And I'm my own regret And all that I wanted Is outta my hands Your thoughts of war, religion and life (love?) Other things that I recall when you're gone And now I'm left without a clue On where I stood in line when I lost you And all that I can say It's all that I can say She's my last request Everything else is suddenly taken over And I'm my own regret And all that I wanted Is outta my hands Is outta my hands When your smile becomes the reason I breathe And your eyes become the motive to see Then all that I can say is She's my last request Everything else is suddenly taken over And I'm my own regret And all that I wanted Is outta my hands Outta my hands She's my last request And all that I wanted Is outta my hands Scribed by Kyna. Breathe Tonight
You broke when I just bent You cried, never meant to break you down This time did I steal the best of you Can you breathe tonight As the air is leaving you Scream tonight Like the words are new to you Can we go back to the last time My arms could carry you Breathe tonight You're alive Lost, dont leave me in the dark alone Shine a light cause you're the road that got me home Coz' I, I never knew that love was true Did you? Can you breathe tonight As the air is leaving you Scream tonight Like the words are new to you Can we go back to the last time My arms could carry you Breathe tonight You're alive You broke when I just bent Goodbye, but only if you're over it Can you breathe tonight As the air is leaving you Scream tonight Like the words are new to you Can we go back to the last time My arms could carry you Breathe tonight You're alive You're alive.... CD Review: Midwest Kings EP worthy of big label Tulsa World file The Midwest Kings' new EP may be a sign of good things to come for the band.By MATT ELLIOTT World Scene Writer 12/3/2006 The local rock band Midwest Kings has been knocking on the door to fame since at least its second album, 2004's "Judging a Bullet." Somebody had better be listening now. Since then, the band has made some trips to the coasts, playing gigs for record-label types but no dice. But the Kings' six-shot EP, "Incoherent With Desire to Move On," aims straight for the heart. They released it Friday in a celebration and video shoot at the Blue Dome with Citizen Mundi. The quartet, featuring a newer rhythm section, enlisted knob-turner/pop genius Zac Maloy to produce this EP. Maloy, the former Nixons' singer, left behind his unmistakable pop sheen that helped bigger acts such as Bowling For Soup land a hefty radio audience. The Kings' are a loud power-chord rock band, and on this EP, the band mixes its bombast with artful lyrics and, dare I say it, melody, nay, even a bridge or two. The songs are jam-packed with catchy, guitar driven choruses from the band, which sounds like its members have been playing together for years. Maloy co-wrote four songs on the EP with the band's principal songwriter, guitarist/backing vocalist Neal Tiemann. <script language="javascript">CM8ShowAd("336x280"); "One True Thing," the second song, is uncommonly good songwriting. Lead vocalist/guitarist Andy Skib shows the listener a man searching for a smidgen of unsullied truth like a melody he can sing or a breath he can take. Skib sings in the first verse "I could say that I'm all right/I think that's what you want to hear/But every time I step out of this door/I just want to reappear somewhere else/A place I made up in my head/Before this world started taking pieces away." Tiemann's voice sounds appropriately gritty, and the harmonies drive it home during the big-guitar choruses. Another bright spot in a field of stars is "Killing More Than Time," the requisite 20-something rock-tune about love and alienation. The guitars are tuneful and massive but don't overpower the songs. The harmonies are tight, and the songs bounce along with a bright energy that evokes today's pop/punk bands. Bassist David Cook says the band will use Maloy on its next studio album, which he expects to release in about 18 months. If not this EP, then a full-length album of this caliber will surely make some record-label official's head turn. -------- Link here: Source

Ben Hosterman engineered it, and I think he did an amazing job. Let me know what you think of it. ~David QUOTE Thursday, November 17, 2005 photo shoot and more.... OK, so here's the skinny.... I posed in my sexiest pair of lace undergarments for some promotional photography earlier this week, under the watchful "eye" of Ms. Randi Kampeter. It was entirely too much fun and I can't wait to show you the results. We just have to find a way to wash seminal fluid out of an aperture lens (that was a joke.) Also, I know I've been teasing you constantly with this whole "solo album" business. I mean not to string you along. I'm currently looking for a "financial friend" who wants to invest in me and my music, so until then, or until the Missouri Lottery stops being a huge douche nozzle, this will be the only place to hear my stuff. I AM DETERMINED to get this album out for all of you, as well as myself. I'm extremely proud of this and I want to share it with you all. So, as a result, I promise, that SOMEHOW, SOMEWAY, this album will see the light of day.... Lastly, make sure you check out this page for upcoming show dates, etc. And also, for those of you who are not yet aware, I also play in two other bands...axium (www.axiumrock.com OR www.myspace.com/axium) and MWK (www.midwestkings.com OR www.myspace.com/mwkmusic) So, check those pages out for show dates as well, and for Christ's sake, come see me. Grandma would've wanted it that way. Love you all and thank you for the continued support ~David QUOTE Monday, February 27, 2006 The Official Generic "BIG NEWS" Post Today is February 27th, 2006, and here's what's going on in my world... I found a financial backer. I am not at liberty to discuss him/her just yet...in due time. However, I am at liberty to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to him/her in hopes that he/she reads this and/or looks at this page. I did some scratch track recording for the last two songs on the album, and I will be, barring any scheduling conflicts, recording these last two songs at the beginning of March in Tulsa, OK. Lastly, I've been thinking of changing the name of the album from "A Second Chance At A First Impression" to "My Analog Heart". The former title is pretty obvious to those who know the story of David Cook, but for those who don't, it basically implies that this album is a new start for me. A chance, if you will, to branch out from the whole Axium thing and try something else. "My Analog Heart", to me, symbolizes the whole "I wear my heart on my sleeve" mentality. Some view that as an old school, chivalrous thing to do, hence the "Analog" aspect. So "My Analog heart' suggests a few things about me. Anyhoo, I need your input. Which title appeals to you more? Remember, P Diddy said it best... Vote Or Die! I thought I told you that we won't stop, I thought I told you that we won't stop.... ~David Tuesday, April 04, 2006 DAVID NEWS : April 4, 2006 So, I finished the album artwork for my debut album, "Analog Heart". I'm putting it in the mail tomorrow afternoon, and so I should have them in hand, ready to roll by next month. I can say with certainty that the album will be on sale through CDBaby.com, as well as on iTunes beginning next month, so for those of you who won't be seeing me in person, but want your fix o' the Dave, Be on the look out for that. Also, I am trying to get a website up, so that this myspace page will merely be a supplementary site. Anyone want to do that for me? Hope everything is great we're you're at. I am extremely proud of this album. I've never worked so hard on anything before in my life, and hopefully it shows. I look forward to getting out and playing some shows for all of you, in hopes that you'll love it, run and tell your friends, and bring them the next time. Thank you all for your support over the last 10 years, whether it was just on here, or through Axium or MWK. Let's keep this thing moving forward, shall we? ~David Sunday, April 23, 2006 Alright kiddos...CD RELEASE INFO!!! First off, for the sake of saying so, the OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE will be May 2nd. You guys are awesome. ~David Thursday, August 30, 2007 New Album Updates So we're all but done with pre-production. New songs are coming together sexy-like. We're going in to do drums on September 8th and 9th on ten songs. They are as follows: DISCLAIMER: These are all working titles and they are in no particular order. Also, any one of these songs may not make the album A Daily AntheM Precious Decline Chandelier The Downfall Only If... Better Late Than Never We're Only Honest When We're Sleeping Elizabeth Never To Return By The Fire, Gently Burning I'm also toying with the idea of a live track version of one of the songs from "Analog Heart". We'll see how functional that idea is. Lastly, I'm contemplating naming the album 'Optimistic To A Fault". Good idea? Bad idea? I want your input. Later, taters. ~D Monday, November 19, 2007 Album update... november 07 Current mood: creative Here's the skinny... the drum tracking is done. Aaron Baker has done a masterful job. This album is going to have a different vibe than the last, and a lot of that is due, in part, to Aaron. Right now, there are ten songs. I'm crossing my fingers for an eleventh, but time will tell. the tracks, right now, in now particular order, are: A Daily AntheM Chandeliers (Monty's pining for 'Scandeliers') The Downfall Debutante Elizabeth Better Never Than Late We're Only Honest When We're Sleeping Eta Carinae A Dirty Shame Precious Decline The album title is still up in the air. "Optimistic To A Fault" has been joined by "Remember This". thoughts, questions, concerns? Right now, we're looking at a March release, but nothing's set in stone. could be earlier or later. other than that, I hope everyone enjoys their holidays. take care and see you soon. ~D Currently reading : This Book Will Save Your Life By A.
