I'm not certain if this site has ever been shared before, but it's interesting. Apparently, record companies hire them to test market songs with various demographics, etc. I noticed the little labels on the charts in the Billboard magazine and looked at the site a while ago.

This week, Light On's hit predictions are in the Top40 and HAC charts. They don't release the numbers until a song has hit a certain ranking in airplay. Apparently, Light On is/was #63 on Top40 and #73 on HAC airplay for the week. Not too shabby for no official adds yet, right? smile.gif

You can find the actual hitpredictor numbers here. I'll just tease you and say that yes, we have a hit predicted!

BTW - anything above 65.00 on their rating scale is considered a good chance at being a hit. They won't even publish a number for a song that scored less than that. ToML barely made it onto their AC chart with a 66.90 and look how that turned out wink.gif

This week, TOML was up to number 10 on Ryan Seacrest's American Top 40 - the HAC version. The web site still has last week's list up where it was number 14. There was a brief mention of David around 2:40 of the broadcast and the song itself was played around 2:50 in the broadcast, with Ryan saying a few tidbits before and after. No new info contained in it.

I wonder how far up the charts this song can go?

Oh, on another note, Randy Jackson's Hit List has him at 11 this week, I think. (The things I actually listen to for this kid!)
