David's Bodyguard

Hi guys!

I know that a lot of us have really had a great time this year at the tour stops and for quite a few of us the experience was made better by watching the interaction between David and his buddy and bodyguard "Security Dave". Like a lot of you I got to know Dave and enjoyed watching the Dave's together and Security Dave with other idols. As a thank you to Dave for his good treatment of David's fans, I am trying to collect any pictures that I can find of Dave with the Idols, fans & by himself. I am going to make him a special gift and if you have any pictures that I can use I would really appreciate it and will give you photo credit. The Pirate Joke

Well, to start off, I have a few apologies to make. First I have no idea if anyone's posted about this before. I've scoured the site and can't find any reference to it, but if it has, I'm sorry for repeating. I should have posted this last month, but that leads to apology #2. Before the summer I was an active part of this board and enjoyed coming to check the news and read all your lovely posts many times a day, but then major depression set in and it was hard to function. I ran away from my life and my escape was friends old and new and AI concerts (i got to go to 5!)
I've barely read anything in more than 2 months, so I'm not up to speed here, so again, sorry if this was previously posted (also sorry for such a long winded set up!)

Now, about the infamous pirate joke. I was backstage after the Idol concert in Lexington, Kentucky and some Archie fans gave Dave an Pirate t-shirt or something. And he said, kind of conspiratorially,
"Can I tell you guys something. The truth about the pirate joke is that the producers wanted to do the whole telling a joke to death skit with me, but I didn't know any jokes, so they gave me the pirate joke to tell. And since then I've been getting tons of pirate stuff! Which is fun, but it wasn't really my joke!"

So that is the real story of the famous pirate joke from the man himself!
(It may not be phrased exactly word for word, but it has been almost a month and that is the story he told us)

can anyone give me some help?

David signed my t-shirt tonight and I want to make sure that the signature won't fade. Any ideas about how to preserve this? I'm wearing it to the concert tonight, but after that I want to do whatever it takes to keep it in mint condition.
