Subject: [UFAB] FDA Odac meeting on Avastin To: UFAB@yahoogroups.com Date: Tuesday, March 17, 2009, 12:15 PM Hi The FDA will be evaluating Avastin for approval for brain tumors at the end of this month. I will be speaking to the committee asking them to approve it. I want to say I am speaking for a large number of people - patients, families, friends and doctors, as well as get a lot of letters to present to the committee. I need everyone to go to http://virtualtrials.com/fda fill out the short survey, then edit and submit the sample letter to me. I will compile the survey results and letters and present them at the meeting. The documents have to be submitted by this friday, so I need everyone to do this by Thursday night. Have all of your members, family, friends do the same! I want an overwhelming response! IF they reject it, insurance companies might not pay for it for brain tumor patients, and it costs so much money that most patients won't be able to afford it, and the drug company won't be able to help brain tumor patients with an assistance program if the fda specifically says it is not good for brain tumors. I've been at it again. lol It's kind of sort of a response to this quote from the Finnish magazine interview: "I’ve spent all my life dreaming of being a rockstar and having women’s attention and now, when I finally am a star I don’t have time for dating. Quite ironic huh.” I guess you could call it a tribute to one of the sacrifices he has to make to keep us ntertained. This one is especially for David's fans who are also fans of Adam Lambert. It's clips from the Declaration tour set to a 2004 cover Adam did of Five For Fighting's "I Just Love You".

Hundreds of years ago, Michaelangelo explained the magnificence of one of his sculptures by saying, "I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free." In such a real way, this is what David has accomplished within so many of us with his voice. Somewhere between "Hello" and "Time of My Life" he found a way to free us from the words "We can't" and "it's hopeless". HE was the one who made us believe not only that miracles exist, but that we can and should do our part to be a part of those miracles.
"Cookies for Hannah" gives all Cook fans the opportunity to partner with The Musella Foundation for Brain Tumor Research and Information to do just that. Although this effort honors one child, it is for all the men, women, and children who have faced, are facing, or will face this disease that we now act. At the end of October 2008, the Garman family from Lititz, Pennsylvania was given the devastating news that 4 year old Hannah had Glioblastoma Multiforme, a rare and highly aggressive form of Brain Cancer. Still recovering from the death of Hannah's mother from Breast Cancer when Hannah was 3, the family now faces a grim prognosis for her as well. Without treatment, her doctors had given her about 12 weeks to live back in November. With it, they hoped to prolong the time the family had with Hannah to 11 months, and treatment began in December. Sadly, an MRI on January 19th, 2009 - just 3 days after Hannah's 5th birthday-showed progression of the disease, and treatment was ended. Although her family still hopes for a miracle for Hannah, she may never have the opportunity to grow to become what she might have. There's nothing that can ever replace those years, but this campaign seeks to make the legacy of this beautiful child one of hope for those who face Brain Cancer in the future. For more an artical about Hanah, click here The goal of this drive is to raise money to fund innovative brain tumor research projects so that hopefully soon, other families won't have to go through this nightmare. 100% of the funds raised for the "Cookies for Hannah" Fund will be used - quickly - to fund such a project. Brain Cancer is an equal opportunity destroyer. It doesn't care if you are a young attorney, a legendary politician, a gifted athlete, or a beautiful little girl just shy of her fifth birthday. It attacks without prejudice or mercy. And it must be stopped. All it takes is everyone giving a little, whatever he or she can. In honor of Hannah Garman, let's take this opportunity to follow in Michaelangelo's footsteps. We can all "[see] the angel in the marble". Let's "carve until [we] set him free." You may make donations to the Cookies for Hannah fund at the Musella Foundation at www.virtualtrials.com/hannah Let's show Hannah's family and the Musella Foundation some Cookie Power!!

Hi...
I'm at it again lol. One of my friends suggested that a tribute video be done to Paula Abdul's "Rush, Rush" for DC. Somewhere along the way, it became a bit of a PSA for Stand Up 2 Cancer. Hope y'all like it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJVO0dKSGDI

Hi, one of the girls in David's Yahoo group thought "Eight World Wonder" by Kimberly Locke would be a great song for a slideshow, so being TOTALLY addicted to Windows movie maker, I made this one. Hope y'all will check it out!!
