Me and my friend were wondering what goes on afterparties? Also how long are they? We're gonna try and get passes...hopefully.

It's just a bunch of people in a room. The LA one was in a big room with a bar and tables, chairs - it was in a room that serves as a restaurant/bar at the venue. It started right after the show. All the idols came in and you could go up to them and take pictures, get autographs, etc. The good thing is that there are no fences, etc. between you and them. David came in about 10:30 and left probably around 11:15 to go outside by the buses. (I remember this because the time stamp on my camera for my picture with him was at 10:48. I left around 11:45 and a few of them were still there.

Thanks! Were there a lot of people there? Also how did you get the passes?

I would guess there were 3-400 people there - it was a big room. I got my passes from someone in the AI organization.

Yah, that'd be a pretty big room. Were the passes hard to get or did you pay for them?

You don't pay anything for them. They were left at will call in an envelope with my name.

Can you ask someone at the local FOX affiliate for passes? Do they have the 'power' to give them out? I am hoping that will work as I know people there. Or maybe the local newspaper?

I remember reading that people going to AI shows in previous years were able to ask Idols for passes and got them (I heard stories about people getting them from Phil Stacey or Chris Richardson last year). Has anyone had any luck doing this on the Season 7 tour?

What exactly ARE the passes? Are they actual tickets? Laminated cards on lanyards? or something else?

It is made out of some kind of cloth - you peel the paper off the back and stick it on your clothes. It says "American Idol" and "aftershow" and it has the idols press picture on it.

Gina offered them to me last year. I had a really good picture that I had taken of her at a previous show that I showed to her that she loved. Right then and there she asked me my first and last name and she wrote it down. My passes were left at willcall for me. I didn't even ask and what an unexpected surprise! I haven't heard anything about season 7 people yet.

Maybe since they're coming out to meet all the fans before and after every show they aren't offering them. Also, I read that this year they are being much stricter about who gets passes. I don't have the nerve to ask anyone. Has anyone ever asked and been rejected?

Karla and I were at the Tacoma show and spoke with one person who had been invited to the Portland after party. She happened to know the head of security for that venue. Anyway, she was then invited to the after party by Ramielle. All she had to do was give her name to Ramielle and she was on "the list"

Also, Karla asked Brooke White how to get them, and she said that you had to know someone who would invite you. So Karla said "I'm Karla nice to meet you." LOL
