AI started interviews today in San Francisco! I can't believe it will happen again since this was the best year ever.

The one thing I hope is that there will be a HUGE picture of David front and center at the preliminary competition.

Of course we'll probably hear Simon say something like "Do you think you're the next David Cook?" LOL

sure one of the judges will ask that question!but not yet ready for a new season. i'm stuck here in DC world. proud of DC.

I thought no one could top Chris Daughtry man was I wrong but I strongly feel Cookie is as good as it gets we'll see but I think David is the best Idol that will ever exist plain an simple Cookie is it hes the whole package PIRIOD!!!!! He will forever be my Idol!!!!! Anybody else nodice Blake Lewis never really went anywere I have his cd and i like it but I don't think hes very popular. please chime in if you feel like it.

That will be so funny to hear Simon say that. I'm currently in a bubble where I don't realize HOW MANY people love DC and how huge he is and is going to be. But that will be really awesome!

I wanted to try out this year, but I need to work on my voice a bit more. 2010, for sure though! That might be the second to last year I'm qualified to try out ( I think).

I was listening to DC's music at work today with two teenagers. one of them turned to the other and asked "so, who is better, this guy or Daughtry?" and the girl said "David Cook." yay!

I'm right there with you man! Luv Daughtry and Blake--have both of their CD's and play them all the time. but for me it's DC all the way! I will go to every concert, buy every CD, you name it, I'm there! David seems to be "something more" you know what I mean? He has the "IT" factor, I believe. Whatever it is that makes us all love him so much, he has IT.

I agree David is way better he is in a whole nother statisfire of awesome talent!!!! GO David GO you ROCK!!!!

you know...i get what you're saying. It's like they're good, but there's something about David that just makes him seem like he's going to have so much more potential as far as getting all the fans in the world.

I'm trying out this year....crazy, because I never thought I ever would! Anyway....this year has gone by so fast, it's crazy to think that auditions have started already! I really believe we've never had an idol like David, and I can't imagine anyone topping him, ya know? They'd have to be a supernatural being or something. Crap...maybe I shouldn't try out now...haha.

I can't believe it either - I heard a lead-in for a news segment last night on our local FOX station mentioning this. In Ryan's interview with Simon on his radio show, he also mentioned he was getting ramped up with AI in late July - Simon said the judges will start their work on AI in late August, I believe.

The only thing I'm looking forward to this season is trying to not be so personally invested in a contestant and take more of a laissez faire approach to the show - I don't think I'll ever let myself be so invested in a contestant as I was with DC. But DC so deserves it!! As piper5 said, he completely has the 'IT' factor. There is a reason why I became so infatuated with him!!!

You hit the nail on the head! I knew there had to be a name for what I have! LOL! But I think I will still watch AI just to see if any of the auditioners step it up a bit. We will see!

I will check Season 8 out but I swear, I'm going to compare everyone to David! I think it's going to be unavoidable. I've never really been so emotionally attached to any Idol contestant until David came along. I can't wait to see his picture on the backdrop during audition round and hear Simon compare everyone to David. So yeah, I will watch Season 8 for that.

I used to be a hige Clay Aiken fan, I still like him, but David has sorta taken over every aspect of my life right. I liked Clay from the begeinning and I did that way with David too, but somewhere along the way I got obsessed. If I had to tape it, I wouldn't even watch anybody else hardly. I had quit watching AI for a while cause they made me mad, but for some reason I started watching it from the very beginning this year, which I've never done and I couldn't get enough and it's like no one in the world can compare to David. I'm still in a David hangover, I don't think I'll watch it this season. I have to listen to the CD I made from iTunes every night before I go to bed or I can't sleep good, I usually listen to it twice a day. I've probably played it 200 times by now and I'm still not tired of hearing it. Even my fave cd's by other singers haven't gotten this much play, it's unreal. My mom thinks I'm nuts and can't stand the fact I'm obsessed. You see how I'm rambling on, he's turned my brain to mush and turned it on NC-17 all the time. I'm a mess.

next season will suck and we all know it unless they change it up like they did with Canadian Idol this season which was awesome.

I gave my sister-in-law Analog Heart CD last week, and as we were playing it my brother-in-law walked in, he said who's this? Daughtry?

I said no, David Cook and he said he was "pretty good....." (understatement of course)
