I have seen many posts on this web site recognizing, and asking for support of, the extremely important work done by the American Cancer Society in honor of David and his brother Adam. Please do not consider this post to in any way to try to take anything away from the important work done by the ACS. Both of my parents lost their lives to cancer and donations to the ACS were graciously accepted and appreciated in their memory by my family and me. Having said that, I would like to take this opportunity to ask all of you to take a moment to look into the T. J. Martell Foundation as another organization that would benefit from the support of this fan club. Yes, this is a nationwide organization, but it also has roots in T. J.’s hometown of Madison, NJ where an annual Walk-A-Thon is held each year in October (I am a member of the organization committee for this walk). I believe we should look into supporting this organization for several reasons – the highest of which is that it was founded by T. J.’s father and the MUSIC industry - T. J. himself was a drummer. Please, take just a moment of your time and visit their website tjmartellfoundation.org and realize the importance of the funding they provide to research cures for leukemia, cancer and AIDS research. If you can find it in your heart and your pocketbook to support this organization through the annual walk, I, and the rest of the Walk-a-Thon committee would be grateful. If you are live in the New Jersey area, please consider joining us for the annual Walk-a-Thon and Family Fun Day which will be held on October 5th, 2008. If you would like additional details about the Walk-a-Thon or how to make a donation, please feel free to contact me at williamsmaryf@gmail.com.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post.
