Hey guys...
Estado de ánimo actual: creativo/a

Hey guys. Sorry for the delay in updates. It's been difficult finding the time to get a new Vlog put together, so I thought I'd write a quick blog instead. smile.gif

We just wrapped another successful show in Pittsburgh, PA. The crowds have been great. Very responsive. VERY loud. I love it.

We're neck deep in this record. Mr. Rob Cavallo is pushing all the right buttons and turning all the right knobs to make this record great. Just as importantly, I'm proud to announce the first addition to my band, Mr. Neal Tiemann (hereafter referred to as "Doctor"). Doctor was the chief songwriter/lead guitarist in MWK, the band I played with in Tulsa. He's one of my closest friends and I am absolutely stoked to have him on board.

We're putting the finishing touches on my brand new website. It will have a very cool facebook/myspace vibe to it, where you can put together your own space and interact with other fans. I think it could be a really cool way to interact with each other.

I want to address the CDs from my old band, Axium. Quite a few fans have brought these records to the shows, looking for signatures. While I am happy to oblige and am very grateful that so many have taken an interest in something I put my heart into for the bulk of my musical life, I am sad to hear both that the pricing of these records has been set at astronomical amounts purely for the sake of taking advantage of you guys who just want the music, and that the release and sale of these records was done without the consent of the chief songwriters involved in making those records. I can assure you that I play no part in the sale or distribution of these records, and neither condone nor back the people that are. Hell, we would've given you the music but a few years ago. Funny how things and people change...

Be sure to keep an ear to the ground, as we have two singles coming out from some of our friends. Mr. David Archuleta has a single coming out soon, and Ms. Kristy Lee has one coming soon too. So be sure to check those out and support them as well as you've done for me. Let's prove to everyone else that this was and continues to be the most talented season of AI yet.

Take care and see you on the road,
~D

Didn't he say something to a fan earlier this week about the price of the old Axium CDs and how he wasn't very happy with one of his old bandmates? I guess this explains in greater detail what he was talking about.

Thanks for posting. It always enlightening to get a little glimpse into DC's thoughts.

Thanks for the update. I just went to his official myspace and left him a message. Let's all go and let him know how much we appreciate him and wish him well. He needs to know how much we all love and care about the man and his music. He's brought so many of us together right here on this wonderful fan site. God bless David Cook.

I love the fact that he supports the other artists from AI7. DC is a classy guy all the way.

Actually, that is proper English! You could substitute "just" or "only" for "but" here to get the same meaning. He would have given it away just a few years ago (and he did). It's kind of a poetic / romantic way to say it, and something you would find in Old English literature (think Austen or Shakespeare). Some on another thread wondered if he himself wrote this, or had his publicist do it. I think the use of this phrase here is pretty good proof to me that it was David, as only a poet and lover of words would put it that way.

One of the very many things I love about this man is his potetic use of English, really treats words beautifully, if you know what I mean.

It's quite sad about the Axium thing, but nice of him to be concerned, I doubt anyone for a second thought he'd be involved in the over pricing etc.

More great album news, David seems to be getting a lot of control over what happens, far more then any other winning contestant, all points to RCA backing his talent all the way biggrin.gif

God, can't wait of his album

The way it's worded and the use of language - I've absolutely no doubt that was written by the man himself. If it had been written by one his PR team it would have been much blander.

thanks for posting!!!

love all these updates from David!!!!

I doubt his PR will have cared to mention about Axium and that some fans paid high prices for it smile.gif

THAT MAN is everything but real

He's such a sweetheart and I have no doubt he wrote that. I just can't see him giving it to a publicist to write when all along he's been so good about trying to keep in touch with his fans. No way. Can't wait for his CD....absolutely can't wait!!!!
