I've been a fan of DC since May, though I found out about him about a week before the AI finale!! The reason is that I live in a dorm w/out any television, so I couldn't watch any AI episodes and our orchestra was so busy with our major concert from January - March. I've heard of Archie a couple of times from my orchestra-mates, but I wasn't interested because, well, at that time, I kinda lost faith in AI. I thought it was another season of karaoke ballads. The show became rather stale for me.
It was during my summer break (sometime last May) in my hometown that I noticed that our local newspaper's headline goes something like "Syesha Out!! It's the Battle of the David's in the AI Finale!!" I got curious and read the article, and that's when I learned of David Cook. I got even curious as to who this David Cook is, so I YouTube'd his AI performances (as well as Archie and the others) and that's when I got hooked on DC!!! His music and song arrangements are more enduring for me than the others. I was especially impressed when he sang Sir Webber's "Music of the Night" because for me, it really highlighted his versatility and uniqueness among the other singers this season. Until now, I am still regretting the fact that I've missed out a great season 7 of AI!! The finale was the only episode that I've watched this year.
Well, the reason for my extreme hesitation to join this forum is because of the estrogen levels here!! it's sky-high!!
But I finally decided to join because I have no one to talk to about DC and his music on a fan-base level. Most of my friends in the orchestra are Archie fans.
Hope that everyone here is a-ok with me joining so late in the game!! And my apologies for the lengthy introduction, I just need to let it out --> 2 months of repressed feelings of not watching AI this year, finding out about DC so late in May, etc... ARRGGGHHH!!
oh well, DC ROCKS!!!
