The latest thrill......David moved to tears when the New Jersey Night 2 sung the entire TOML with him!

How many time have we seen that kind of concert.....when the ENTIRE STADIUM crowd sings through the whole song! It just give me CHILLS......I'll definitely cry. It's so moving....i think at those moments, the singers just feel like the entire world does not matter anymore...only the FANS do!

I CAN'T WAIT FOR DAVID's SOLO CONCERT.
We will all sing every song with him....

P/S: One of the best live concert, Robbie Williams with Angels, check out the crowd! Bone-chilling.....

Audience power can be a very emotional experience for the audience as well as the performer. You can just feel the emotions David must be experiencing ...... What a great year for DC.

You go David!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TOML last night was definitely a love fest sing along - I personally believe looking around the arena I saw very few people sitting during David's Set - I think from Hello all the way through BJ we were standing, singing, cheering all good things.

I know as they move to Atlantic City our South Jersey/Philly folks will be giving him some love and also I have no doubt that our NY/Long Islands folks will also be giving the same level of love and support.

I have seen a few concerts like this in my lifetime....and they are truely awesome. A creative soul LIVES for that moment when there is a realization that we are all like "one" in that moment. David NEEDED that moment last night and you guys GAVE IT TO HIM! YES! Once his solo career gets going, he will have more moments like that because the people who care about this type of music and care about this type of "ART" will be there and will be UP IN THEIR SPOTS SINGING AND CHEERING FOR THE WHOLE SHOW! I would like to be at a dozen of those shows!
DCFAN89
I must state again that it was just awesome how involved the audience became for him with this song. I went the first night, but now I wish I had been there last night when he was brought to tears and everyone was singing along. I think New Jersey has certainly set the bar higher now, so let's see if everyone else at their concerts can continue to do the same.

Me too! I would love to see it!
I just want to say that even though I am currently living in Italy, I am (and always will be) proud to call New Jersey home! I am even more proud that my fellow Jerseyans showed David the Jersey love! wink.gif I am positive that David will be feeling the East Coast love all around!

Like I said....
whenever i watch a crowd sing back to the preformer, it makes CRY
I feel like, it's probabaly the closest feeling to "love" that there could ever be.

My very first concert was Aerosmith when I was 16 yrs old. From the very first note of Dream On, the audience was hooked. There wasn't anyone in their seat and I'm sure not a dry eye in the house. It was so empowering and moving, words can't describe what a incredible moment that was. There is nothing like bringing the house lights down, seeing all the lighters and the hands in the air singing a song that means so much to so many different people.

Well now I know we have our work cut out for us when he comes to Fort Wayne in September. I for one, can't wait to live up to that challenge!

YAY NEW JERSEY! I'm from NJ but im going to the phili show! Ive been listening to him non stop so ill be singing along!

Oh my gosh, that's amazing...he totally deserves it smile.gif

OMG, Krista, that was beautiful!
Off the chain
This thread is awesome.

I wish there was a closer video of him being reduced to tears. I can't quite make out all that he's saying but awwwwwww.

My parents both love music and started taking me to concerts when I was pretty young. And lots of you have said the same thing as I feel:::

There is nothing like the feeling of connectedness, an intangible bond, when everyone is caught up in the song, in the moment, it's just ... transcendental, there are no words. Music speaks to people on such an existential level. And a live concert can just take on a life of its own.

David is IT. We all know it. What a journey this will be, watching his career unfold.

That's exactly why most of the bands say their best concerts were in Brazil, people there go crazy, they sing every single word of every song, it's incredible.

I have watched some concerts here in US and the people are really dull.

I've already told my partner what my 50th birthday present will be next year. We are flying to NY to see David's solo concert in NYC.... whether it's at Radio City Music Hall, the Nassau Coliseum, or MSG (or the smaller MSG theater), or across the river in the Meadowlands. I don't care. I'm there! Nothing like a New York concert.

That will be fantastic for your 50th, Scott!! I told my husband that I want to go see David's solo concert next year for my B-day, and I think going to NYC would be the ticket to have!!!! By what I've heard from all the Crazy NJ/NYC Fans on here, that would make our B-days even sweeter!!! I've never been to the Big Apple and I have always wanted to go--Excellent Rockers out that way! I want to go to the concerts that get up off their feet and ROCK SOLID and Give their Rock Gods Lots of LOVE!

Yea, I was born and raised there, and didn't move away until I was 26 (and even then I only went 90 mintues away to Philadelphia). Both NY and Philly (and all of NJ in between) have insanely loud and responsive audiences. It's really fun to go to a concert there. I try to get back to NYC as often as possible.
StarrySkies
I am touched that David was brought to tears by everybody singing with him. WTG, New Jersey, for really showing him the love. It must have been amazing to actually be there in person!

I love to sing along and interact during concerts. Live performers feed off the energy of the crowd, and it's a chance for me to feel that "connection" you guys have mentioned. I know exactly what you mean. There are usually some people who want to sit still and be perfectly quiet, but my way of thinking is - it's a concert, not the symphony. I'll be singing every word along with David, when I'm not screaming myself hoarse for him. smile.gif

ETA: Getting to go see David's solo tour would make an excellent b-day present for me next year too!

That is so awesome. I can sing along, every word of all the songs I got on itunes, I don't even have to be listening to it and I catch myself singing TOML. I would sing along with all of his songs if I could go. Whe the new album comes out I'm sure it will get played night and day and by the time I can go to a concert I can sing along with those too. And this is weird, I have never really heard Billie Jean that I can remember until David sang it and I'm not a fan of Michael Jackson, so when I learned every word of Billie Jean and catch myself singing it, it just weirds me out, never in a million years would I thought about doing that. That shows how good David is.

Now I really can't wait til the concert in Philly.
I know my friend and I are going to be singing every single note to every single song he sings.

And I will, of course, videotape the Mavid dance, whatever it may be that night. x)

I've gone to so few concerts (other than classical) in my life, I never knew a singer would WANT you to sing along with them. Now I know! The one downside is not being able to hear his own beautiful vocals as well, which is what I'd be there for. But if it would encourage him....

Anyway, if David is choked up hearing people sing TOML with him, imagine how he'll feel hearing them sing along on a song HE wrote! I bet a lot of us could already sing a lot of AH or Axium songs with him already! I wonder if he realizes that. I'm sure it would be really encouraging.
annie702
Let's sing TOML!

I don't find that the artist's vocals are drowned out at all -- even if you're in the middle of it, somehow the artist's voice always stands out. And then of course there are the times when they want you to play an active part -- you sing a verse without them, they sing a line and you sing the response or the background, it's all good.

Europeans really raise the roof at concerts too!

I know we can do it here! smile.gif
Show some real Cookie love! wink.gif wub.gif

It is like someone said on this thread already. It is extreamly emotional for both the audience and the perfomer.

It was so awsome that NJ brought DC to tears with TTOML. smile.gif

He really deserves it. I believe he said something along the lines of "I have waited to long to feel like this."
I am so glad that we were finally albe to make him feel that way. wink.gif
