Believe it or not, there are also guys here who have been Cookified. But we look at his talent, musical skill, but more importantly, his inner beauty (in the very sense of his personality and having a heart of gold), more than any other factors.

And I can also dare note, not every guy here posts a lot. At most, they read or lurk around the boards.

yes, I think he's very talented and versatile as a musician, but not only that. He seems to be a role model for us guys. He has so many traits and values worth emulating, like his love for his family, not being afraid to cry or show his emotions in public, being unafraid to say "I love you" to his friends without sounding unmanly (LOL!) his kindness, his humility, the way he respectfully and patiently treats everyone, and the list goes on and on...

This subject keeps coming up, I guess because David's female fans are so ardent, but yes, there are plenty male DC fans. Maybe they don't post as much as they could, but I post about twice a week if a subject interests me, and if I think I have something to add to the discourse. I really believe that once David's CD is released, his male fan contingent will grow by leaps and bounds.

OK, I have to share this with you guys. I have a guy friend who was routing for Cook during AI based on his musical abilities. My guy friend is most definitely heterosexual. When I told him that I have a crush on Cook, his response was, "Me too." I thought that was hilarious. I think when a guy is as hot as Cook, other guys just have to admit it.

I love male fans when it comes to anything, but especially singers. I'm a female but I'm always more interested in talking about the music and the message and the person as opposed to their looks. Hey, we can all agree David is a good-looking man but there's definitely more to him than that.

I'm not takin' a crack at the female fans, there are plenty-like minded women out there, too, and there doesn't seem to be an overabundance of CRAZY ones here. Which I was pleasantly surprised to see. When I make reference to crazy female fans I'm talking about girls who stand in line at shows and talk about how they grabbed the lead singer's butt at the last meet-and-greet signing like they're proud of themselves. I'm like "sheesh, they're people!"

I totally laughed out loud on this one! When it became unbearably obvious I have a fan crush on DC, my hubby completely made fun of me! He said things like this in a girly voice: "Oh, David, you're so cute!" " Oh David, will you marry my daughter? Oh no, David, marry me!!!" He had me laughing so hard, I was crying! Anyway, after he was done teasing me, he said it was okay, he thinks David is cute, too! He is still teasing me daily, though!

Another Dude for Cook reporting in, LOL. While I don't appreciate him in a lot of the same ways the female Cook fans do, I think we all can agree that the guy has a huge amount of talent, which is definitely worth admiring. I picked David Cook from day one during the auditions and his music has pretty much been an obsession of mine ever since. I'm sure a lot of guys are embarrassed to admit they like certain artists, particularly one who is as loved by the females as David. Most probably even get ragged on for it too (I know I do lol). So, I wouldn't be too surprised if there is a healthy community of male Closet-Cook fans all across the globe as a result. LOL

I bet the Closet-Cook fans will come out when the CD comes out, too!

Here I am Scott! I'll be extremely busy with work-related stuff for the next few weeks, so I want be posting here as much. Yes, there are a few of us guys around here. I think David has more male fans than you may think. I know 3 guys at my office who say they will buy his new album when it comes out. However, I doubt they (or most hetero guys for that matter) would ever come to a site like this and post messages professing their fandom for DC. Most guys still seem to have that I'm-a-guy-therfore-I-cannot-express-my-feelings-for-another-man kind of thing going on. I say too bad for them. That's one thing I love about David--he's not afraid to express his emotions openly for the whole world to see.

I'm completely cookifed and don't hide it from anyone. I'm out promoting David like I've never promoted any artist to anyone that will listen. His music and journey is a once in a lifetime phenomenon and I'm on for the ride. The rise of this rock star cannot be stopped. The women may crown him but the guys will want to live vicariously through him. What guy wouldn't want to be a rock star? And I'm freakin 50 years old by the way!

WTG John; love that there are guys out there that think that David's music is so great. We all like him for more than his looks. Every man should want to emulate his values and beliefs. What a story his rise to rock star will make someday. Thanks for having the guts to speak up about this terrific man. And by the way John, this lady has a few years on you and still thinks that DC is special. I haven't been this excited about a singer in all of my years. And I can remember as a young teenager watching the Beatles on Ed Sullivan when they came to the US for the first time. They were special, but not quite like DC. Age is not a factor when someone like Mr. Cook comes along.

My hubby is the same! He can't stand the show or any of the singers. I even dragged him along to an Idol concert and let me tell you, he was a bump on a log the whole time! He was not impressed!

Its already obvious to us that his music transcends age, race, sex, nationality but the world for the most part has yet to be awakened. I believe it will happen. I mean I actually want to buy his cd - I haven't "paid" for music in probably 10 years until I bought the two axium cds that were at walmart.com (first and last lifetime purchase at Walmart LOL).
