My favorite album right now, the one that I play over and over, is "Incoherent with Desire to Move On". This was the first from MWK after David joined them. I see where all the lyrics are posted here but there is not much mention of the album

I seriously love this. The songs are great. Andy is great and the backup vocals from David are great. I spent a good deal of time trying to hear David in the background but ended up really appreciating this album.

Give it a listen.

I totally agree - this and the new MWK EP - Luna Despierta are in heavy rotation w/ To Have Heroes on my ipod!
AnnieD
Luna Despierta is growing on me, also. Some of it took a little longer, but it is also great. When I wake up in the morning, these are the songs that are already singing in my head.

I just wanted to say that I totally agree about "Incoherent...". I LOVE that album so much, I can't believe I didn't find it until only a couple months ago. And I call myself a David fan. Better late than never!

I really need to get "Luna" because most people seem to like it too! smile.gif

My favorite track on Luna is "Vera" - sticks in your brain...

Check out Bryan Jewett as well....I have downloaded a few of his songs and they are a great fit with AH and THH. You can find him at bcjmusic on myspace.

Just bought 'Incoherent with Desire' from CD baby and love it, and downloaded Luna Despierta from iTunes .... definitely helping to fill the DC void right now!

"Vera" is also my favorite from Luna. I also like "Stuck under Wheels" but somehow it seems to have a few too many words.

THANK YOU for this. Yes, it is a great fit. I just downloaded from DIGSTATION. CDBaby thinks my computer doesn't allow cookies so it is hard for me to deal with. If my computer didn't allow cookies....well, I would just have to shoot it, wouldn't I?

I can see the "History of Rock and Roll" special on MTV in 20 or 30 years where they talk about the phenomenon that they will call "Tulsa Rock" that changed the face of rock and roll.
All of this music feels like home to me.

I love Luna Despierta, it's a great EP~

I see that Bryan Jewett is going to be with Andy at Plan B in Tulsa on Sept 12. What a great weekend to be in Tulsa. Me, I'll be here in LA working the weekend to pay for my KC trip.

I've loved MWK since the day I first heard some of their songs somewhere last spring... finally I purchased their eps, including the newest one, Luna Despierta. I already had heard the first three songs (Vera, Anodyne and A Scarlet Letters) several times and I've loved everyone of them but... after listening to Stuck Under Wheels, wow. It's so freaking brilliant! The first part, power of melody, words... just everything.

Does anyone know where to get full lyrics to LD songs? Especially Stuck Under Wheels.. I've tried to write them down myself but my English isn't that perfect so there's always too many empty spots sad.gif

Was David with them when they did "Luna Despierta"? Believe it or not, I only now got "Incoherent" and love it. I am still trying to warm up to "Luna".

Zandra, This is what I got. I'm not sure if it is 100% correct but it is close, I think:

Got your wish, I met you at night
Out by the lake and under the lamplights.
We screamed at the world.
You told me you're right. You said it was alright.
You told me I was right for you
But now we seem just a mess of all your intentions that you forgot to mention
That this was not a rule to be whatever you say,
Only a guideline to help me change.

It's harder to feel, stuck under wheels,
Grinding in motion to keep you all right.
It's harder to see, partly because of me
And my indecision that matters the most.

Day jobs, passing hours,
Do you ask me how are you?
You say I'm sorry.
And it never will just seem enough
Until I call your bluff at my funeral.
Bleeding fingers and muddy toes,
I've grown to let you know I hate this.
And then it comes to me with speed, a flash,
and suddenly I'm desperate.

It's harder to feel, stuck under wheels,
Grinding in motion to keep you all right.
It's harder to see, partly because of me
And my indecision that matters the most.

Then it repeats.
I will work on the other ones later. It is something I have been wanting to do.

Katie,
Luna just came out this year. David is not on it. It took me a while to warm up to it, alos but now I love it. There are also a whole lot of good songs on their first (pre-David) albums. Of the two, Judging a Bullet is the more "hard" rock. I have become as addicted to all of these as I have to David's music

Thanks for this - just took a listen on his MySpace - he could be Andy's brother! Yep, there's definitely something about Tulsa.... never been there, but now I want to go!

Does anybody know where you can purchase his music? Didn't see any mention of CDBaby or anything...

ETA: Found it - here's a link to CDBaby if anybody's interested...

I'm listening to Luna Despierta loving it. But I think I prefer Incoherent with a desire to move on.

Have any of you guys listened to the full-length MWK albums? I have both of them, (midwest kings and Judging A Bullet) Just wondering if anybody has them, and what you think of them...

Thanks for reviving this thread. Yes, have both of these albums. Especially love Judging a Bullet for the rocking guitars. But the lyrics on both of them just dig into your soul. So much talent.
AnalogHeart:D
i have them all.
lol. even the ones without david, i guess. lol.
they all rock. smile.gif
Teralynne93
smile.gif Me too. The lyrics are absolutely fantastic... Neal is some kind of crazy amazing songwriter. smile.gif

What are your favorite tracks?
AnnieD
Favaorite tracks? It changes, every once in awhile I fally totally in love with a song I didn't listen much to in the past. Right now,
I really am loving the lyrics in Railway Reality and the guitars in Splinter. But Waterside is just starting to grow on me. Always favorites are Judging a Bullet (the song) and One True Thing.
Eventually they will all have their turn as a fave I think.
Some days the guitars get me, some days its the lyrics.
And always always, when I hear the opening notes to A Scarlet Letter I get chills but smile like I've just run into an old friend. Hope that makes sense and isn't too corny/dorky.
Teralynne93
No, it's totally the same with me. smile.gif My favorites change daily (just like with David's... anything.) but the standards that I never skip and I'm always happy to hear are Railway Reality, Judging A Bullet, Call To Arms... then the newer stuff... Off of 'Incoherent' it's Circle's Anthem and Rearview, though I adore them all and usually end up listening to the whole thing. Same thing with Luna, though lately I've been listening to Anodyne a TON. But I love the rest of them, and it's the same thing as Incoherent, I typically end up listening to all of them. It's hard to listen to just one.... smile.gif It's like eating just one Oreo. Lol.
