some of you may have read my post a while back about writing david a letter and getting a signed photo in the mail. well they just keep coming! i got another one today! i'm pretty happy, but really confused. i only wrote one letter, and the signatures look a little different. it's pretty safe to say i'm confused....

EDIT: i don't have the address on me. i found it on this board. i just sent it to american idol, and i guess they forward the mail.

Actually something I've noticed about people signing things is that when they first get famous it takes them awhile to develop how they sign things...even you're signature has changed from the time you first signed something. He was probably sitting at a table for a couple of hours signing things over and over and over (that's what other bands I know do) and through the course of that it can change.

It'll also change over the years. Things I've had signed by Switchfoot 5 years ago look different than things I've had signed last year. It's pretty nutty.

I wouldn't think too much of it. He's just developing his *signature*.

and that's kind of what i thought. the first one i got was really more his name in cursive and this one you can really only make out the D and C. i'm not saying i think it's fake or anything, it was just kinda weird. but i'm definitely happy, no complaining here!

I have yet to send a letter, I want to, I'm just trying to think of what I want to say, so I don't sound all stupid and giggly like a little school girl or something. Although I think that way alot of the time, but I want him to think I'm really smart (which I am) but sometimes I get excited and sound stupid. Cause I don't want to say something like this: like, you are so totally awesome dude. Or something to that effect. I got the address off here it's:

I need to send a fan letter sometime... which will probably include a drawing I'm going to do of him.

The second one sounds sort of like the one I have on my guitar, and it's definitely real 'cause I watched him write it. So maybe it was just by accident that you got two? I don't know, but it's pretty awesome for you either way!

OMG!!! this reminds of my honeymoon... We went to Tahiti, and the guy at the airport made me sign some papers about 10 times because he said my signature didn't match my visa LOL!!

yeah, i don't think it was fake. i'm sure he really did sign it, he just developed a signature.

If he is sitting and signing a stack of photos, I'm sure that his signature morphs as he gets tired.

I am planning to send him a Birthday card but I was going to wait until after the tour to see if he gets a new address for wherever he settles down.
