There is the possibility that one song from AH goes on the new album.

David has mentioned it to fan as a song he would like to have on the new album.

All the AH songa have been out there. I doubt at this point they will use something already out there.

I have tell you, Joyce (Grandmajoyce) and I went for pizza tonight. We were sitting there and Entertainment Tonight was doing the red carpet at the TCAs and low and behold who flashes up on the screen but Archie and then DC - needless to say when DC appeared on the screen I said "Oh There He Is" what was funny is that I said it little too loud - I had people looking at me like was crazy - I had a little moment = Joyce and l laughed.

I'd like for him to just rerelease AH because If a song that I have heard takes up the spot of a song I haven't heard on the new record than I would rather not have an AH song on there

I don't know. Straight Ahead is not really one of my uber favorites on AH. If he were to include just one song from AH, I was kind of hoping it would be "Silver", "The Truth" or "Porcelain". Oh well. We still don't know for sure if an AH song will indeed be included on the final track listing anyway so, we just have to wait and see.

I don't really have a problem with an AH song being included in the album just as long as it's only one track.

I love AH but I have to agree with smitten4cook17, I would prefer the rerelease of the album so I could here him "play me something new" on the new album

straight ahead is quite a nice song.. hopefully they will do some remixing and editing so it sounds better than on AH..

I lOVE The Truth, but I'm still stuck on Makeover. That song just plays in my head all day long after I listen to it. And although I really like Straight Ahead, it's not in my top 4 or 5 on AH. But, if Straight Ahead is the song David is talking about, it only means that it might be among the 20 he recorded (very curious to see how he changed it and how the arrangement may have been enhanced)... but no word has come on which of the 20 have been selected for the album. Only 10 to 12 will end up on the CD, with maybe one or two more as bonus downloads on itunes.

YES!! I caught that, Annie!!! I really like Straight Ahead. It's one of my top 4 favorites on AH. It would shoot right up the charts and it's fitting -- he's already a star...now he's heading straight ahead to the next phase in a wonderful life-long music career!!! I love all David's songs. Gosh, I can hardly wait!!!

I guess I'm in the minority here, but "Straight Ahead" was one of my very favorites from the beginning. Unfortunately, it's all a big muddle now, as several others have grown on me and are challenging it. But I'd be fine with it being on there. But I also would love new stuff, as long as it has his stamp on it. I was encouraged to hear him say somewhere that the album was turning out to be "undeniably me". That's all we could ask for.

I have mixed feelings on AH stuff being included. I'd love room for all new stuff that is undeniably him, but I'd love for AH to get wider exposure so more people could appreciate what genius work it is and give him his due for what he did all on his own.

I was listening to AH on the way home from work tonight (big shocker there lol) and I too was torn about wanting some of the songs from that album on his new CD. I mean I was listening to the album thinking.....man...so many people are missing out on this great music & how awesome it would be to hear The Truth...Makeover...even Straight Ahead on the radio so the whole world can hear the songs. But I want to hear his new stuff & want him to leave room for new songs.

It's going to be a great CD no matter what he decides to do...so I guess we should just leave the song choices up to the experts

I enjoy all the songs on AH and I think Straight Ahead is an awesome song. I would love to see what would be done with it.

That youtube fan video is from Aug 5th and it has DC saying the new record is coming along great and that they're ahead of schedule! The lady filming calls him Bocephus at the end of it.

I'd love for the new record to be all new material, songs we haven't heard before. I don't mind if he includes songs from his second album, which he never got to release. If I'm not mistaken, he did mention that to a fan at one of the pre-show signings.

He directly says that he hasn't been able to come out after the show because that's when he's working on the record. Anybody still bitching about him not showing up should keep that in mind!

I feel so much like all of you do. I have no problem with Straight Ahead being the sole song selected from AH. And I'm torn about AH songs being on it at all. BUT, if it's a longer album... say 12 instead of 10 tracks, plus bonus tracks on itunes, then to me it's fine. As long as we get 11 new songs!

I'm not really torn about it because I figure that the majority of the people out there are not like us and have never heard any of the songs on AH. So, to them, any of those songs will be brand new.

I love straight ahead and totally trust his judgement, but i think alot of people would love The Truth so much more. But i do agree with whoever said it before, he should rerelease AH so everyone get to here it.

I think I'd read somewhere else that Straight Ahead may be on the new album. I think it's great to hear that. If he thinks it fits and that's what he wants to do there'll be no complaints! I love the song, and I agree with the earlier poster that I'd like one or two of the songs from the unreleased second album to be on there too - why not?!

It doesn't really matter to me which song, but I'm leaning toward Makeover because I think it would satisfy all types of Cook fans, from rockers to those who prefer a mellower sound. And it's one of my favs from AH. However, I want the remainder of the album to be fresh, new DC material.

did anyone read how david is working on TWENTY songs?! i wonder if all of them will be on the album. i cant wait! also rob cavallo is producing it. ok i went through an OBSESSION with american idiot. i have faith that rob and david can make an album even better than that one! as for an AH song being on the album, either way works for me.
