I saw that too - I admit I do check for his name there! It makes me wonder why now? Maybe because of the album news? Or his appearance on TCA? I can only assume it is a good thing, as it keeps his name out there and probably inspires more searches. There has to be some news about him between now and the album for those who aren't on sites like this, and I'm only glad it isn't tabloid-inspired. I'm glad the tour and album news at least has put a seeming end to that.

That's also his number on his Royals jersey when he threw out the first pitch: 08!
Did you also know that the month following his AI win he had the #1 page on youtube (most viewed).
And that there are now more than 20,000 clips of him on youtube!

Hmmm, I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that in that interview a few days ago he said he's "yahooed himself" and read fan sites...
I got curious as to what comes up that he may have seen and yahooed him myself! Yep, we were on that first page when I looked, BTW!

Yes, I've always thought that the British have exceptional taste in music. And lord knows, you all have given us some of the best music in the history of earth! I think David will be big everywhere. It's funny, Elton John was kind of bigger in the US in the 70s and then conquered the UK and the rest of the world. I suppose that's why he has a soft spot for us over here!

Exactly. I can't even listen to the charts. It upsets me!!
And I know that we as a nation have provided the world with some great music... but I could say the same about the US. We have The Beatles... you have Elvis! It's like swings and roundabouts!!

That's true...
And we had Jimmy Hendrix big over here, then took him back over to the USA

I personally prefer American music, it includes more genres and has more variety, but the 'big hitters' of the past 50 years are often form the UK..I think we're equal!

Absolutely. The US & UK have been great partners in the world of pop-music for the past 50 years.

Well, at the moment I find British music to be a welcome change from most of the stuff that is being churned out in the US right now--with David Cook being the exception of course. By no means would I say the rock is dead in the US, but it seems to be thriving a bit more in the UK. The only radio station I listen to these days is Virgin Radio based out of London. It's a refreshing change from the rock stations here where I live, which try to narrowly focus on specific sub-genres of rock. Never would you hear The Beatles, Guns N' Roses, Green Day, Queen, and Maroon 5 played on the same station here where I live.

That's why I love Radio 2, not only do they talk about things that truely matter and have great debates every day they really mix the music up with old and new

Radio 2 sounds intriguing. Do they broadcast over the net? If so I'll try to check it out. I"m assuming Radio 2 is a BBC station meaning it's advert free. Part of the reason I quit listening to radio here in the states is because the commercial breaks are too lengthy and come along too often. The novelty of listening to British ads on Virgin Radio wore off long ago.
