we all have people we try to convert or things we say to our family?

what do you (or would you) say to them about daves style, music, or character?

ill start...

first, you must notice the beauty in dave's paleness (see below)

second, you must notice the emotion and passion he puts into a performance

third, the raspy buzz voice says it all (this should have been first, but hey, paleness rocks hard)

fourth, back bend/ wet dave - nuff said...

Well, I usually don't try to 'convert' anyone to anything (even David) just because I know I hate it when people do that to me, so out of respect and common courtesy I don't...at least not purposefully.

I will, however, say that I've made my mom an even bigger fan of him by listening to his music all the time, she absolutely loves his rendition of 'Little Sparrow' so everytime she's around I play it and she gets all giddy, it's cute. I also make sure to keep my sis interested (not that it's hard) by giving her updates since she doesn't have an account on here, and she always likes to see pics, videos, or songs she hasn't heard of before. She doesn't always like to admit it, but she's almost as obsessed as I am.

I guess I only feel comfortable influencing my family in that respect laugh.gif I almost have my entire family hooked, I just have two to go, and even one of them sort of likes him already. It's only a matter of time. wink.gif

I find I don't have to do too much to convert anyone! I just have his music in my car, at work at home, etc... Usually people will say sometehing like--"Oh is that the guy that won American Idol?" then I'm like "Yes! Isn't he good? Blah...Blah...Blah and start a convo going and then they slowly get Cookified! LOL

tongue.gif I'm too selfsih to try to "convert" anyone. I wish everyone would focus on someone else and leave David for me alone! laugh.gif

I'm not going to try to convert anyone to do anything. If I'm asked what I'm listening to and I'm listening to a song sung by David Cook, I tell them. That's all. Most people are aware of who he is and have either watched the show or have seen him on his TV appearances afterwards. I don't like to have anyone tell me what to listen to and so I'm not going to make any efforts to tell anyone else.

That being said, most people who do ask me who I am listening to on my iPod, usually tell me how much they enjoyed him on the show and were glad he was the winner. These are people who didn't vote. So, he has a lot of people out there who did appreciate his efforts. Whether they do enough to purchase his upcoming CD remains to be seen. Most just watch the show each season and then move on to the next season. He is liked by quite a few, though, and for that I'm glad.

As for discussing Mr. Cook with my immediate family, I don't. That is the quickest way to turn them off. If they ask me a question, I answer it. That is all.

most of my friends don't like cook, sadly. they seem to be deaf to his overwhelming voice that powers his career. i always tell him how amazing he is, but sometimes, they can be soo stubborn!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think everytime I speak I can associate David into my conversation, but ABMB or Billie Jean has worked.

Well I show them the pictures, like the backbend, so on. and if that doesn't work then here comes Anolog Heart. biggrin.gif

I don't actively try to convert anyone. But , if music or AI topic comes up, I'm not shy in my opinions.

I must admit though, I did burn a CD of Analog Heart for my sister (she's not an Idols watcher), so maybe my initial answer was a lie.

LMAO.
