Hi David I've been looking for an easy way to put in my 2 cents' worth about how much we've enjoyed your successes. My husband and I are both middle aged musicians living vicariously.
I just returned from a camp for children with Diabetes (held at Bourbon, MO) and I did an accoustic version of "Time of my Life" for about 150 kids aged 7 - 17. It was bookended with "Lean on Me", and Green Day's "Good Riddance", which we've done at the closing campfire for years. Lots of the kids sang along, which is great fun. When I came home I read about you working with Green Day's producer, LOL.
We were imagining what we would do with Sketchers' money; my husband is into vintage guitars (the number he owns is a barometer of our financial health) and he says the guitar player (?) from the group CARS has an extensive collection of left handed vintage guitars. He says he's corresponded on vintage forums with him.
My leanings are more phillanthropic; I figure whoever's guitars you get an endorsement deal with could provide inexpensive guitars to you. With your autograph and provenance (sp?), they could be auctioned by various charities for much more than their original value. There will be no shortage of chairities approaching you with their hand out.
Take care of yourself - watch your salt - and best of luck in all your endeavors.
