DC was mentioned in the ESPN Olympics Blog in coverage of Phelps' media and endorsement onslaught following his eighth gold medal win.

Like Eli Manning, the Celtics' Big Three and David Cook before him, Michael Phelps has been swooped up and swept off on a whirlwind tour of interviews and sponsorship appearances that would make any mortal's head spin.

I don't know why, but it just made me really happy that DC was mentioned here...I mean, it's a sports blog, and all the other comparisons were with other sports stars...he stands out even outside of the musical niche of fame as a whole! biggrin.gif
Jen :)
Thanks for posting this...he's everywhere! (not that I'm complaining. laugh.gif ) How completely random, though, for him to be included in this list. Ms. Russo (the blog author) must be a fan. biggrin.gif

His own sports-loving background, and his profile in the aftermath of his win being so high at different sports events and venues, the folks at ESPN must consider him to be "one of the guys". Just another thing to love about him.

No one can resist a Cookie! wink.gif Seriously, this is just more great exposure for David. Next thing we know he'll be in the Sports Illustrated bathing suit issue! Now that's one sports mag I'd actually buy!!! LOL!!!
