Lindsey Rose Meets her Idol

Charley Belcher's daughter, Lindsey Rose, spent time backstage with American Idol David Cook. Cook wore an orange wristband on the show all last season supporting the 7-year-old, who's fighting leukemia. Cook showed showed her the day of a lifetime, even taking her with him to sign autographs and dedicating a song to her during Thursday night's concert.

That's just beautiful!

David really gave her a day to remember and I'm sure it's one that he'll never forget too, especially with the quilt around him to keep him warm. Bless them both.

Well I just had a good cry for the morning. OMG - what a heartwarming story and what an adorable little girl. David and Lindsey are friends for life.

OMG..Thank You Thank You for posting this link for all of us to see what a wonderful man David is. I had tears streaming down my cheeks the whole time I was watching it. David is truely an angel sent from heaven! Him and Linsdey were so cute with each other and I love the pic of them walking with each other holding hand...very heart felt. I love this man more and more everyday for the person and artist that he is and will always be to all of us. I know that he will never change and always stay grounded just by watching and listening to him! He really is an angel sent from heaven!!!! Much Love & Great Big Hugs to all!!!!

Oh wow, I'm crying a lot right now. Glad I didn't go into work yet. The picture of the two of them holding hands in that segment really is the sweetest thing I've ever seen. This man could move mountains but I like him best when he's fulfilling the dreams of children. It suits him.

Lindsey Rose truly had the time of her life when she finally got to meet David in person. And oh, the strong bond they had for each other. David's definitely an inspiration to her, that gave her the willpower to live on.

I just watched this without sound... at work. I had to get up and go to the bathroom because I was sobbing. OMG. Everyone at work thinks I'm a freak. But I don't care. This was so awesome - I'm getting teary-eyed too at work. I had been looking forward to seeing clips of them meeting for months now and I'm so happy that he made her dreams come true. Wow - he is an amazing person. First the heartfelt blog entry, now this....

How special he made that for Lindsey Rose, he could have easily done the bare minimum, quick meet and a few photos, instead he spends the day with her, takes her everywhere and lets her experience it all, fabulous man - and she's a very beautiful little girl, stunning eyes and a fantastic smile

i bet she is on cloud 50gazillion right now. and i truly believe david WILL keep his promise to her and they will be friends forever. he is such a wonderful person. goodness how did we get so lucky to get such a gift? more human beings need to be like our David Cook.

A brave little girl's dream just came true!
As Star exclusively reported in April, while David Cook was singing his way to the Season 7 American Idol championship, he was being cheered on by his biggest fan, 7-year-old Tampa, Fla. native Lindsey Rose Belcher, who's been fighting the good fight against leukemia since last Christmas. And in a show of support, David wore an orange plastic band on his wrist during his televised performances as a personal message of hope to the adorable youngster.

Behind the scenes, David called Lindsey Rose right after his May 21 victory and promised her they would meet in person when the Idol tour made its way to her hometown. That day arrived on Aug. 21, and squeals of delight mingled with tears of joy as big-hearted David, 25, kept his promise to Lindsey Rose, treating her like a little princess during a special day together. "From the moment we arrived, David grabbed Lindsey by the hand and the two were inseparable," her father Charley Belcher, a feature reporter for Fox WTVT Channel 13 in Tampa, tells Star. "They are friends forever."

That was beautiful, I'm so glad they finally got to meet each other. That part where Lindsey Rose called out his name and then ran to him and he picked her up in a bear hug...GAH! So sweet, he's going to make a fantastic father some day.

I wish Lindsey Rose all the best, I hope she makes a 100% recovery. And David Cook just keeps showing that being the champion of a singing competition on a television show isn't what defines him as a winner.
