I work for a major retailer, and although I am not in the menswear area, my boss used to be, and still gets the trade magazines. I have been kind of looking through these magazines when we get them, knowing the Skechers' ads will start appearing soon - but I really didn't expect to see one this quickly. (I think it was only 2 or 3 weeks ago that he was at the shoot, right?)
Anyway, yesterday, I picked up the mail and there was a copy of 'DNR' magazine - sorry, I have no clue what that stands for. Well, there it was - inside back cover, full page, color.
Unfortunately, I have no way to link it without signing up for an online subscription, which I don't want to do. I am adding the link for anybody who wants to go to the trouble.DNR online
It's sort of surprising that they chose this pic, I have to say. It's cute...too cute, IMO. Makes him look kind of like the JoBros' older, facial-hairier brother. Heh. I thought they would try for a more sophisticated edgy look, and instead it looks like they tried to make him look kind of teen-ish. Also, instead of some boots (which they do make a few of) or more streamlined athletic shoes, they have him in these brown and grey kind of lumpy casual shoes that make his (huge) feet look even huger. And oddly, they had him write something across it , so it looks like an autographed photo, you know? ' For those about to rock - David Cook'. (shrugs)

edit - never mind - I just read your post again regarding subscribing to the magazine.
They may use different pictures for different magazines/posters/ect.

Perhaps you can scan the picture you saw and add another post.

funny - I just went up the Sketchers on line website and the ads are not posted yet.

I'm a huge Carrie Underwood fan so I followed pretty closely how her campaign started. The first magazine I saw one of her ads in was EW and that was I believe in September and the ads didn't show up on the Skechers website until much later. The actual website is pretty slow.

I'm really unfamiliar with trade magazines. Can you explain what they are and what they are for? Is it like a catalog to buy ads or show the upcoming season's fashion? Why would David's ad show up here first as opposed to a consumer publication like EW?

It looks like you can view full past issues online, so maybe its a matter of just waiting a week. Whats the publication date on the issue with David in it, what does the cover look like?

Thanks so much for the info!
