Just a tiny interview with JC, MJ and DC.
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...ls.402262d.htmlIdol winner David Cook laughs at the attention he's gotten, especially from girls and women. "I get at least one marriage proposal through poster board every other night," he jokes. "I'm going to have to start disappointing people, or polygamy is the answer."
Every night on tour, he and fellow jokester Michael Johns concoct a new dance move for the finale. The duo even has a nickname: Mavid.
"We didn't make it up," Michael says. "But it even has its own Wikipedia page!"

How true DC is. "I never saw the show as being about one person." Evident in everything he does with the other idols.

I think it's great that journalist are now asking MJ and David about the phenomenon that is Mavid. The Idols were practically begging Larry "the dinosaur" King to ask about it, but of course he was too dimwitted to pick up on it.

Yes - I think as Scott mentioned in one of the other threads - the Idol choreographers have given up on the last number and DC/MJ are in charged - Mavid has certainly taken on a life of its own.

Archie even got into the dancing at the end last night. It was too cute to see D squared do their little dance.

I love this part right here:

Love this part - David has always said this from after the finale.

This is old, but one of my favorites that shows how selfless he is. Around :20 through the end.

he's such a darling. sometime during the homecoming (top 3) he filmed a clip promoting the live! tour at the local fox affiliate. they wanted him to say "come see me at..." except he wouldn't say that, he chose to say "come see all of us" or something like that... i wanted to hug him.
it may still be up on myfoxkc.com as a "blooper."

Dimwitted or hard of hearing? After all, he's 75 years old. Also, he was interacting remotely with ten people, sometimes speaking over each other, all with earpieces to communicate. Since LK isn't a member of this board (I don't think), and has never attended an AI concert, I don't think he was aware of the phenomenon known as "Mavid." He probably heard the word but possibly thought they were saying "David."
I'm not defending Larry King, but to expect him to know about a not-exactly-a-household-word like Mavid and thus ask about it is a bit mean-spirited--a human trait David dislikes intensely.

MavidMavid also refers to the crazy dancing between Season 7 American Idol finalists Michael Johns and David Cook. If you call it bromance that make them sound like *** peoplez.

annie702, apparently the censoring mechanism on this board alters certain word usage. How odd, since the word g-a-y isn't vulgar in the least.
Michael is married (not that that precludes a homosexual orientation) and David appears to prefer female "companionship." Rhetorical question, really, because it doesn't matter.
What makes their friendship refreshing is that they're not shy about demonstrating their love for each other in the philia--not eros--definition, which means friendship as a dispassionate virtuous love. It includes loyalty to friends, family, and community and requires virtue, equality and familiarity.
More men need--and, truth be told, want--this kind of love in their lives, in my opinion, and I applaud Michael and David for embodying it.
