Cook Chatter on MyFoxKC said he was at the mural unveiling in Blue Springs and left that now. MyFoxKC also has an article that they will have video as soon as they get back to the station.

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. -- The City of Blue Springs unveiled a mural on Friday in honor of native son American Idol David Cook.

Cook is in town for the American Idols Live Tour on Friday and Saturday at the Sprint Center. Members of Cooks family were expected to attend the mural unveiling. But, city officials weren't sure if Cook could make it himself.

Cook did, in fact, make his way to Blue Springs on Friday.

FOX 4 was there and will have video for you as soon as it gets back to our newsroom.

That's cool. He'll probably get out of there and be at the arena by 1:30. Unless he is going to go to his house a chill for a while. So for anyone out by the barricades he probably won't be there till around 1:30.

anyone here from anyone at the barricades in the past thirty minutes. I'm going to be leaving somewhere in between 30 minutes to and hour from now, so I was just curious as to if anything has been happening already.

that was a great video by Fox catching the true emotion of a genuine American Idol in soooo many ways other than winning the competition. I want to experience every moment and thanks to everyone capturing this for us.

What an emotional day for David. I am SO happy for him to be back home with his family and to feel that much love from his hometown.

I am apart of the Cook Chatter girls and were so sooo thrilled to be able to do that for David and get it presented during the KC stop on the tour. It was a Labor of Love on everyone's part and we all loved David's reaction to it. Enjoy it everyone...seems like it'll be a long emotional weekend for our Cookie

On behalf of those of us whose names appear on the plaque, I have to say that the reporter was mis-informed as we are not a group of cancer survivors and the mistake will hopefully be cleared up ASAP. We do not want David to be mislead as apparently he is in the vid.

Oh, I'm sorry the reporter got the wrong info. I understand why you'd want that cleared up. Luminous.times and Bamachic80, can you give us a bit of info about Cook Chatter Girls and the significance of that gift?

The cook chatter girls are from the david cook chatroom that myfox4kc created for david cook fans. the gift was sort of our way to congratulate him for his win and show him how much he means to us. It mean something different form everybody. Along with the gift we all sent individual letters expressing things to david.

I just got a text from Jess and she said Stacey said he didn't come out today (at least not yet). Just too much other stuff going on ...

I wanted to thank you for posting the video of David receiving the gift given to him by the cook chatter girls. I also wanted to mention that there was a HUGE error on the part of the reporter in this instance that we are trying to clear up at this time. We are trying to get a retraction as I write this post, because it was stated that we are all cancer survivors and that is just not the truth, I have NO idea where the reporter got the idea. It was never stated anywhere in any information given to Fox 4 KC and as grateful as I am for them going to such great lengths to get this gift to David for us, frankly I am disappointed in the whole the Misinterpretation of the facts. I myself had a non cancerous brain tumor 16 months ago and have suffered because of it but no where have I stated or given the impression that I have had cancer and no one else in our group has either. I do not want David to think that is the case especially since this is something that he has a personal interest in.

Well, thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you will not hold this against anyone in our group and neither will David.

None of us are in our particular group Suze..this is not to say that all of us haven't had loved ones or friends affected by cancer. We just want to make sure that everyone has factual info and above all else we are glad that David received our gift and loved it

Hi Guys:

I heard from the Kansas City Command Center (Lisa + 3) they have a center set up in the hotel room - Lisa called around 4:45PM Et/3:45PM CT. All is going well. The girls are getting ready to take showers and then there is a group going to dinner prior to the concert.

Lisa did want me to tell all of you that updates will be later (early morning) there is a group getting together with some of David's Friends who are working on the benefit they will be going out after the concert.

In the meantime, if anyone has any questions, please post them, I will be checking and I will text Lisa with the question and she will text me back with the answer and then I will respond to the post.
