Full Version: Slight Drop For Toml On At20
David Cook > David Cook Debut Album > David Cook Chart Talk
Scott
American Top 20 with Casey Kasem counts down the top Adult Contemporary hits (as opposed to Ryan's show, AT40, which counts down the Top 40). Thought I'd remind everyone as I do each week!
TOML slipped from #7 to #8 this weekend. No big deal. It could signal the peak for TOML, which has had an amazing run. As a coronation song, David, Regie, RCA, 19E and we fans should be doing cartwheels! It could go platinum by the holidays, and could pass Kelly Clarkson's coronation song in sales to become the all time best.
I have no idea how AT20 and AT40 do their chart. It's different, and slower moving than Billboard, and could just involve the radio stations that air the syndicated show.
On Billboard's Hot AC Tracks chart, TOML is firmly parked at #3 (3 weeks now) and could still move up. Again, this song is a bonifide hit, and IMO only David could have turned that into the winner it has become.

That's for sure. I'm glad the song has done so well, especially after reading about its history. I'm happy for both David and the song's writer. It popped up on my iPod shuffle yesterday as I was working out and, again, I was struck at how great it really is.
