Awesome. = )
That puts the Happiest Day of the Year a mere 76 days away, lol.
(That might be off, I'm just looking quickly at the calendar...)
Nice to hear a release date from Amazon.
It sounds so OFFICIAL now.

Ugh, they must be staggering the shipping based on order date. This is my email:
We now have delivery date(s) for the order you placed on August 25 2008 03:16 PDT
David Cook (Artist) "New Release (featuring "The Time Of My Life")
(2008)" [Audio CD]
Estimated arrival date: 11/25/2008 - 12/02/2008Bummer, because I had initially ordered it way earlier, but wanted to order more and couldn't get the combine orders to work right, so I cancelled and re-ordered. Now I'll have to wait another week or two??

Of course, there's always iTunes to tide me over until the CDs arrive.

I think Amazon is a wee bit screwed up with the release date on the site because the 14th is a Friday..new releases are only on Tuesday's.

I'm not too sure if that's the actual date for the release, but at least we can now wait patiently, with no absolute need to fret.

LOL, I just got the email a couple minutes ago, with the 11/18/08 arrival date.
I was thinking the same thing about the 11/14 "release" date for the same reason. Then I started wondering if 11/14 might be the SHIP date to those that are scheduled to receive it on (or about) the 18th...
Regardless of the exact date it turns out to be, its just SO NICE to see a date being tentatively set.
*waits as patiently as possible*

I believe the shipping date varies, based on the day when you placed your pre-order.
The date of arrival for my order is set 21st November 2008, and I placed mine in Singapore.

Ahhh! So when does it drop? There's so many dates!
I'm glad I know a time frame, but I want to write it in really big letters on my calendar already. (:

OK, just so I'm clear about this - new albums are generally released on Tuesdays, right? So the 14th release date is likely tentative?
Because I want David to have a full week to accumulate sales for his chart debut, and taking away 3 days would be a very strange strategy.
But it is very nice to finally have a date, any date, to go with the release!

Would they really actually consider releasing it on the 14th?
I am not okay with releasing the album on the back end of the week. That will cut his sales week in half and it is bad news no matter which way you look at it. There's no positive way to spin this if it's true.
I hope this is just Amazon being stupid again.

I just posted this on the other thread in this subforum on the same topic.
The tentative release date is 11/18/08 and that's the way it's been for 6 to 8 weeks. 11/11 was a rumor. It's all TENTATIVE but I met and had a couple of beers last night with David's bandmate Neal Tiemann (amazing guy-David keeps great company!) and the album is moving along extremely well, right on schedule. See my other thread in All About David (Neal, Andy & David) for all the great news.
Amazon likely has a deal with RCA to ship in advance of the release date so it arrives on time. They compete with itunes, which can deliver the download at 12:01am ET on the drop date. You all may have gotten different shipping dates based on a few things... standard shipping as opposed to express or 2-day shipping, your membership level with amazon, and when you placed your order.
