Is David your hero?

Ever wonder what David would be like as a SUPER HERO?

Need a little inspiration? Well....what about THIS?

Now create your image(s) using any medium you like (draw, Photoshop, etc.), and e-mail them to contest@david-cook.org . Write "My Hero" in the subject line, and be sure to include your user name so we can give you props! Kids can participate too! Draw a picture and have an adult scan your image and send it to us. DREAM BIG! Have fun! We want to see what you've got!

Here are a few ideas to get you started....

· What would David look like if he were a super hero?
· What would his powers be?
· What would his mode of transportation be?
· Does he have a side kick? (Duh! Mavid! Andrew? Etc.)

We’ll upload your images HERE daily, so you can see how creative your friends are and maybe draw a little inspiration. We already have some entries, so check it out, and then go on and get started!

Deadline for entries is October 26th at midnight PST. Once we have all the entries, we'll set up a poll which will remain open until October 31st, noon, PST. We will have one winner in each of the two categories: Best David as a Super Hero, and best David and sidekick. Winners will be announced Halloween night!

Oh yeah! One last thing! A couple of rules…..
(boo! I know, I know, but we gotta have em.)

* You may use Andrew as a sidekick but please let's respect the rest of his family's right to privacy.

* We all know our beloved Super Hero wears a size 13 shoe, but when drawing his superman speedo, let's remember that the images need to be PG-13 please.

I love the miniature guitar replica. I have absolutely no creative skills so I won't be participating on that level, but I am eager to vote!! Keep the entries coming in!

Are we allowed to make more than one picture? I didn't include sidekicks in mine, but I was struck with a sudden idea...

Also, it's small, but I put a kind of collective message from the Word Nerds in the brown box on my entry...I just wanted to make sure that nobody had any objections to it since I wrote it in first person plural...

This is the CUTEST thing I've ever heard of!!

I LOVE this contest idea, it's so fun! While I'm creative and pretty good with Paint Stop (Photoshop confuses me lol), I cannot draw, nor can I create people on Photoshop, so I think I'll have to skip out on this one, unfortunately LoL I can't wait to see all of the finished submissions though

Unlike David, i don't have any talent in the visual arts so i don't have an entry but I would love to cast my vote.
but if someone could visually interpret this idea then you're more than welcome.
(mind you its not original but i'd like to keep it simple and relatable with david)

david would wear this black leather trenchcoat and always with him is his trusty Les Paul guitar strapped over his shoulder.
david has the superpower to heal people when he sings.
david's mode of transportation would be a bad-a** motorcycle with a custom-made seat for his sidekick.
david's sidekick is Quagmire.

Started my pic after school today and it's actually not going too terribly bad As long as it keeps going the way it is and if i don't have much homework, it shouldn't take me very long to finish

Ok, this may be a lame idea, but I was thinking that for those of you like me that don't have a clue how to really use photoshop and definitely can't draw; what if you went through pictures, magazines, scrapbook supply stuff and made a design that way. You an take a photo of it and email it to enter the contest. I have seen some of the photos of the amazing scrapbook pages some members here have created, so I thought this may be a manageable idea.
I made a cute poster for the AI concert in ATL that showed my love for MAVID- and I used a lot of crafting things already made to represent their previous dances and printed off and cut out their images to use on some of them. Fans that saw it and understood what Mavid was, thought it was cute. I am quite handy with a pair of scissors , glitter, and some glue.

Just a friendly reminder there are only 6 days left for this contest. Come on DC.org we know you are a creative bunch- show us what you've got!

also, i was wondering how you will get the prize to the winner.

I sent one more in...a Mavid superhero duo this time.

I just finished mine!!! I drew it on and off during my spare time this past week and i spent 4 hours straight today watercoloring it and tracing it in black sharpie. I'll scan it and send it in tomorrow I'm fairly happy about how it turned out except for the noses. I figured it would be easier to do the black outline with paint but i kinda screwed it up. Now i wish i had done it with sharpie
