Hi,
I am 34 and am from Norwich, England, and love American Idol, absolutely love David Cook and really hope he wins! Even if he doesn't I am sure he is going to be massive. I am a married mum with two kids, who loves music, I am a massive fan of Daughtry, The Calling, though my heart will always lie with two guys from Middlesbrough, England, Andy and Carl Pembrton, aka Journey South, who were runners up in the Idol equivalent here in the UK, The X Factor, a couple of years ago, I love travelling round the country seeing them perform live.
I thought Davids performance this week of be my baby was amazing and cant stop listening to it!
David Cook is gathering a huge following here in the UK too, and wish him the best of luck with the rest of the competition.

Hi...I'm from the UK too...somewhere in the Midlands. Female, married with three kids nearing one of those milestone ages (40 - arrggghhh!!), but still very much active!! Not sure about Journey South! Quite like Ray Quinn, and Shayne Ward is kinda cute - love men with shaved heads! Not really my kind of music though. Into the rock thing. Love American Idol. Into Kelly Clarkson and Daughtry. Think David Cook is just fantastic. Really hope he wins! Check out 'You Tube' for videos of his performances. Waiting for Daughtry to come over - would love to go to his concert. Have just been to Kelly Clarkson's - she was great! Also love Supernatural - Jensen Ackles is soooooo gorgeous!!!

Ah well you two dont know what you are missing and dont knock it till you tried it. I am really lucky I have seen JS ... erm a lot, and they are two very talented guys, always have so much time for their fans. And if you have not heard / seen them since the X you would be very surprised at how much they have come on.
I am now in Norfolk but spent 10 years living in the Midlands in Coventry.
Nice to know I am not the only DC fan in England!
I too would LOVE to see Daughtry live, I was really excited to hear they were supporting Bon Jovi, only to find thats only in the US...
Alex Band / The Calling wherever he is now .. another one I would love to see live too!
I cant make my mind up if to come on here tomorrow or not knowing we will find out what happens tonight!!!!!

I'm not too far from Coventry!
Yep, JS have talent - not knocking that.
I'm sure there's quite a few more of us guys here in the UK that are into David - so come on, let's hear from you all...!!!
Yep, I was sooooo disappointed about Daughtry too cos I've always been a fan of Bon Jovi too - would have been heaven!!!
For those that are trying to get hold of Analogue Heart etc - try the following web link:
http://www.davidcooktheamericanidol.com/music/
It seems it's been took off Amazon.com, not that we could get it in the UK
And, thanks to everyone who sends wishes to us fans in the UK - good to be recognised and appreciated!!!

I remember Journey South - what are they doing now???
Its great to see the number of UK fans growing - AI doesn't get the hypeor focus it deserves

Hi Emma, you are not too far from me then! Only about an hour - to hour and half!
I dont think AI gets the recognition it deserves over here either .. we cant even download from itunes!!
JS are still going, stronger than ever, they split from Simon Cowell and have their own label, they are touring a 43 date tour starting 2nd May. Their new album 'Home' is fantastic all their own stuff and completely Rocking!!!

I was also sooooo disappointed when I realised Daughtry were not supporting Bon Jovi as I have got tickets too see them in Southampton in June (been going to see them since 1987!!). Went to see Kelly Clarkson in Brighton 2 weeks ago and she was superb. I am trying really hard to get my friends to watch AI, even my 4 year old daughter knows who David Cook is now, everytime she sees him on the TV or internet she says "Ooh Mummy thats your favourite man!", might have to explain to the husband and some point!!!

Loving DC he just gets better and better.

Well... is this the Midlands thread or what? I'll be on the M4 on Monday, I'll be sure to wave at y'all when I'm at the toll bridge.
I'm from Northern Ireland, but I've got family around London and Bedford. I'll be staying with my aunt in Bedford from Monday - Thursday as I have 'political engagements' with the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign on Thursday.
And... my friend LOVES Andy and Carl - Somehow, Carl reverted her off Harry Judd for a while... I love Leon, Shayne [met him!] and G4 although they're gone now =[. Quite liked Ray and Ashley from season 3. AND ETON ROAD!

Oops! I have posted a couple of times before I realised there's a "Meet & Greet" forum!!
Hi, I am Maz, originally from Chester in the UK but now living in Seattle on the West Coast of the US with my American husband.
What time and which channel does AI air in the UK?? I am assuming ITV (is it still called that?) and Wednesday for the show and the results on Thursday??
xMakeMeFeelItx
May 9 2008, 06:53 AM
Maz, we had it on ITV1 on a Sunday last year [how I watched in Hospital] and then we get it on ITV2. Performances on Thursday and Results on Friday. It's usually all over the news who wins.
I've watched on ITV2 since the night of the Clay/Ruben Finale - never missed an episode since. First performance I ever saw was Clay singing Unchained Melody.

Hi!!
I'm a Uk girl as well. I'm 23 and from Yorkshire, I'm about 40 mins from 'boro, went to Uni there, we used to see Journey South (the band lol) At Dr Browns before they entered Xfactor. We tried to see them when they played Chicago's afterwards but couldn't get in the damn place! lol.
Anyway. I'm ever so slightly in love with David Cook right now haha.
I also love Kelly Clarkson, Will Young, McFly (doubt many US people know them), Vanessa Carlton, Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Rufus Wainwright, My Chemical Romance, Paramore, The Cab, The Hush Sound, Cute Is What We Aim For and Alanis. Well they're my faves anyway haha.
I'm into loads more.

Hi I'm from Yorkshire

David is a fantastic performer and singer and just blows you away with every performance that he makes his own.
I saw Journey South at Redcar - sadly I was not impressed by them going on stage apparently drunk and shouting homophobic comments at another bands fans. The singer looked a right idiot clambering over speakers too.
Still each to their own - but I prefer to support artists who are professional in their performances and respect an audience that has bought tickets by being sober and in a fit state to perform their best.
Can't wait to see what David does after the final - surely he'll be snapped up to record his own album.
Wonder if we can persuade him to tour the UK?

Hi Scottie!
I did hear about that gig, was rather unfortunate for all involved, however that other band naming no names give as good as they get believe you me!
JS at every gig I have been to have been the most professional amazing performers, they always have time for their fans after every gig they do a signing, and never rush anyone. I would just put that one date down to being unfortunate misunderstanding.
They are incredibly hard working decidated and incredibly talented.
...........
anyway!
as you say each to their own.... they would not be human if they were perfect all the time!
and yes I agree, would be absolutely AMAZING if DC came over here to tour!
count me in!!!!!
scottie
May 22 2008, 12:59 PM
The other band may give as good as they get - I don't know I haven't seen them live and wasn't discussing them, but even if that's the case to insult their fans as a way to get at the other band is exceptionally immature, but as it was also a family audience it was totally unprofessional and unacceptable - I can not ever support an artist who is homophobic or who thinks it's acceptable to try to use that homophobia to insult another bands fans.
I'd be fired for turning up for work drunk or making homophobic comments no matter how good I was at my job and quite rightly too.
We obviously have different levels of acceptable moral standards and will just have to disagree.
Wonder how soon David's album will be out - not soon enough for me. Will have to make do with AI performances to keep me going

.
Hope he'll be doing the rounds on the US chat shows too
