Hello Everybody!
I know this topic has been done and pops up all the time, but this AM something happened that just made me gigglesnort.
Husband and I get up at the crack of dawn to get ready for work, etc.... I get my cup-o-joe and head to the TV and check out the items on my DVR (David Video Recorder) and finally I have the ET with David and the photoshoot that has already been posted on here and DCO but here in Rockford, IL, it did not air until last nite and so I'm watching the whole show finally in the liv. rm.
The first thing that strikes me as "funny" and a "daily reminder of David" is at the end of the segment with Valerie Bertinelli when she mentions how she is "
having the time of her life..." hahaha! and then it starts into David (Gah! So Gorgeous!). Sos, hubby comes out from the back of the house and is sitting on the stairs tying his work shoes and I says "Hey hub! Come and Watch this! David is on!" (he has NOT seen it yet like I have already about 158 times online) He just keeps on tying his shoes; me: "Are you gonna come watch this right now or what?" he goes (and I kid you not) "Watching this right now will not
make or break my day dear.. I'll be over in a minute..." I immediately start gigglesnorting and the coffee is now coming up and outta my nose and hubby and the cats are looking at me like WTF? hahaha! had to share!
Have you guys had any recent "Daily DC Moments"?

This summer, while was doing my Internship for three months, i would either hear "time of my life" or "hello" most of the time on the radio. Then there's the word cook used in everyday things.
I mean just yesterday driving down, i saw the this Bar that has a brand name beer called 'Cook's Beer'....i'm sure you guys have heard about it but it was first for me.
Oh and remember, ( not that i care about E! stuff ) but Kristie Brinkley's divorce that getting or was getting a lot of noise...her husband's last name is Cook too!
I remember when i went to this international school in Singapore, students would separated into school houses, it's sort like Harry Potter 's sorting hat of houses. Well, the houses were Hilary, Cook, Armstrong and Colombus....all named after famous people..Like Edmund Hilary, James Cook, Neil Armstrong and Christopher colombus. I was in the Hilary house...it would have been funny if was in the Cook house and i come to know about David Cook now....
Just recently, i swear to you there's this guy who works at the IT department at our community college whose a total carbon copy of David Cook! Only thing different is his height and long hair. For some odd reason i start to blush whenever he's around.....ah, darn protypes!....not that he could help it....but arrrgh!

The other day, I was wearing a red "Woodstock" t-shirt, with a gold-ish yellow long sleeve under it...I realized that they were the exact colors of the KC Chiefs jerseys...that, combined with the fact that the t-shirt had a guitar on it and that I was wearing my brown Skechers who's purchase was heavily influenced by David, reminded me of David all day!

And one time, a few weeks ago, one of my teachers used the phrase "rose-colored glasses" in reference to some aspect of the Civil War...the only other place I'd heard it up until then was Porcelain.

Today for English homework I had to read this little descriptive essay thing and answer questions on it...it was about an old, apparently delicious burger joint in...guess where...KC. The only thing I thought about while reading it was if DC had ever gone there...it's called Winstead's Best Burgers or something like that...

My history teacher also keeps mentioning Omaha because of the time period we're covering (RxR development and such...) of course you guys can guess what I think about then...

As my own daily reminder of David, I had a slightly embarassing moment at the mall.
So, my sister and I were walking in our mall down towards Barnes and Noble to check out Our Lady Peace CDs, and I love to people watch so I was getting in some good time with the lull in our conversation.
This lady who was standing outside of Hollister was wearing a long-sleeve, white tee shirt with "I (Heart) DC" on the front.
I immediatly stopped and gaped before my sister pulled me away, and I turned to Nicole and asked her "Where did that lady get a I Love David Cook shirt? I want one!"
Needless to say, DC stands for
Washington, DC. My sister just shook her head and laughed kind of awkwardly. It was really funny! Now, when my aunt goes to DC(I told her the story), she says she will get me one of those shirts!

Also, in my English Honors class we just got done filling out a character sheet for the troupe in Canterbury Tales. When my teacher handed it out a week ago, I started flipping through the pages to see what types of characters there were and on the third page I see a giant "COOK" starring at me. I immediatly started to giggle rather loudly, when all of the rest of the class was quiet. Then my friend saw it and pointed it out to me...that only made me giggle harder!

Piper that's hillarious. I had several reminders a couple weeks ago and couldn't find the thread and now I don't really remember them all. I saw a verizon coomercial and the guy was listing the songs on his phone and 1 was SDM by ZZ Top and I bout lost it. Then another verizon commercial was on the radio and there was something about Chris Cornell. They play a Chris Cornell song on an episode of One Tree Hill and they are also using one for the previews for that new show on ABC. A few weeks ago I made chocolate chip COOKIES. I giggled to myself everytime I ate one. I keep wanting to eat cookies just because of their name and I really don't need to be eating any seeing as how I'm diabetic and need to lose weight. Now everytime I hear "light" or "turn the light" I nearly die, luckily I hide it well. In fact last night my mom was talking about the power bill and we're gonna have to start turning lights off and I thought "but I gotta leave them on for David", lol, I'm nuts. There was a really good one and I can't think of it now, I should have wrote them down. Another one I just thought of (not the one I forgot) was they played a song on the radio "Killing Me Softly with His Song". I nearly freaked out, I remembered the song after it was played, but I haven't heard it since Cookie's been around. Of course David's killing us softly with things besides his song. I need to post the lyrics I guess, let me know if you want me to and I will.

I will have to start writing down my daily reminders of David down too! Here are two I can remember off the top of my head. In the elevator at school there is a keyhole with the words "light off" around it. I kept thinking, "No, Light ON!" lol... and when I went to art class my teacher kept talking about HORIZON lines, which reminded me of TOML, which reminded me of David

Reading this post reminded me of driving home to NJ at midnight after the Bridgeport show. My daughter and I stopped at a McDonald's to get me coffee for the drive, and I spotted this restuarant. Of course, I had to get out and take a pic in this desolate area!!

In school the other day we had to fill out these slips with five adjectives that describe ourselves (something for the yearbook...they're going to pick the most "unique" ones and put them in there or something.) This is what I put:
1. sesquipedalian (I've always used big words, I just think it's fun to confuse people...but thanks to whoever posted that thread here a while ago for showing me this word!)
2. idiosyncratic
3. pensive
4.
optimistically pessimistic5. smart, I guess.

Now, if mine gets into the yearbook (which I think it just might...judging by the words that other people were using), I'll have that little reminder of what was really so great about this year...and nobody will know the significance except me!

Haha, I started writing mine down

Ok, so here are my new daily reminders of David. In my Strategies class my teacher said, "Only he was not the one" which made me think of Billie Jean which made me think of David. Then I was reading my friend's English paper and it said, "The right word can make or break a story" which made me think of The Truth. When I went to see the Carrie Underwood concert, this chocolate chip cookie kept scrolling around the arena on the marquee. I think it even said something like We like cookies. Also, that was the same arena I saw the American Idols live tour in, and the people behind me started talking about David! Then as I was standing in line to get Carrie tour merchandise I saw someone with a jacket that said "Optimistic to a fault" on it! I freaked and took a picture. Then at school I ran into my friend Addie who was wearing a giraffe shirt. That reminded me of the giraffe sketch on SNL. Also, she works at Target, and she got off work RIGHT BEFORE David came in! Then one of my teachers said something about a 'plethora of information'. When I was at Wal-mart, I saw "Crush" soda. Oh, and every time I use the bathroom, there is a can of Bar-ba-Sol on the counter. Haha, everything is related to David Cook.

The other day my calc teacher said that we needed some "ancillaries" to instructions that she gave us.

Another one from history class...we're covering manifest destiny and Teddy Roosevelt's "big stick" foreign policy right now...well, since the US was involved in the Philippines' removal from Spain's imperialistic collection and the subsequent controversy over whether to give the Philippines self-government or to keep it as a US territory during the late 1800's, the city name "Luzon" came up...if you're speaking "Spanglish" Luzon could be interpreted as "Light (Luz) On"...

We had had 10 inches of snow here in Illinois and the snow was new and white and there was snow coming down. I was in the car listening to the radio and they're playing Christmas songs only on one station and so Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas is You comes on and after I hear a line or two the little wires in my brain pop up a picture of David and David was all I could think about until the song went off and even a few minutes after that. I had to dl it so I can listen to it on repeat over and over. David under the Christmas tree would be the best gift ever
All I Want for Christmas is You - Mariah Carey
l don't want a lot for Christmas
There's just one thing I need
I don't care about presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own

Make my wish come true...
All I want for Christmas
Is you...
I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
I don't care about presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I don't need to hang my stocking
There upon the fireplace
Santa Claus won't make me happy
With a toy on Christmas day
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is you...
You baby
I won't ask for much this Christmas
I won't even wish for snow
I'm just gonna keep on waiting
Underneath the mistletoe
I won't make a list and send it
To the North Pole for Saint Nick
I won't even stay awake to
Hear those magic reindeer click
'Cause I just want you here tonight
Holding on to me so tight
What more can I do
Baby all I want for Christmas is you
You...
All the lights are shining
So brightly everywhere
And the sound of children's
Laughter fills the air
And everyone is singing
I hear those sleigh bells ringing
Santa won't you bring me the one I really need
Won't you please bring my baby to me
Oh I don't want a lot for Christmas
This is all I'm asking for
I just want to see baby
Standing right outside my door
Oh I just want him for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
Baby all I want for Christmas is
You

Lol just today I was riding in the back of the car with my Dad and aunt. It was snowing like heck, and as we were going up a hill one of the trees buckled from the weight of the snow and it all thudded on our windshield. My aunt was like, "AVALANCHE!" And guess what I immediately started humming to myself?

Later she was like, "What was that you were singing, hon?" And I blushed and said "Avalanche." She was like "Oh" and we drove on in silence. HAHAHA LMFAO! ^^

This is kind of an old reminder cause it's happened since May, anyway. I finally dl'ed the Jordin Sparks song, Tattoo. Everytime I hear that I think of David. Although the context is sort of off cause she's singing about breaking up but the guy is still on her heart like a tattoo, so it doesn't really go with David, it's just the tattoo part, but that still counts.

I was out shopping today and I realized that I can pretty much relate everything and anything to David...
In Borders I was looking around, and I notice all the Palaniuk books, then the Bukowski poetry, then some random novel called "Time of My Life." Of course you have the piles of almanacs as well, with the happy David pic on the cover.

And then I saw all the Burt's Bees stuff in line, and I thought of that one radio interview that he did. At Target, I thought I saw someone who looked like Andrew from the side...on second glance he didn't though. Then at Michael's, they were playing Billie Jean on the store speakers...I asked my mom if I could sue Michael's for causing me distress (joking of course...kind of.

) I was in Kohl's and they had a sweatshirt with Animal from the Muppets playing the drums, so of course I thought of Kyle. Finally we went to Best Buy and right when we walked in the door they had Guitar Hero World Tour...so I think of that Elvis Duran clip (I think...or was that WPLJ?) and that "interesting" commercial that they had during the AI tour. I capped it all off by buying a second hard copy of DCTR with some of the gift card money that I got for Christmas...my other copy has a little crack in the jewel case (was like that when my mom got it from WalMart for me but she didn't notice it) and David must be in mint condition...

ETA: I'm listening to the radio for once, and they just played ABMB...the original of course.

Add that to the list of originals that carry the risk of causing auditory distress once you've heard the Cook Cover.
Oh wait, I just switched the channel and we have TOML! That's better...

I was doing the crossword in the newspaper today, and there were THREE David related clues. "Indubitably" was a clue ("yes" was the word), "trivial" was a clue and I thought the answer was "trite" because it fit (turned out to be "small" though), and another clue was "Nipper's company"...Nipper was the dog from the Victor phonograph company, which was part of RCA. Plus it was a crossword puzzle, so that alone was enough to remind me of David.

Oh yeah...another one...on the way home from school I heard TWIK on the radio, and I didn't recognize the beginning of the song because David's version is permanently ingrained in my head.
