David Cook Fans Unite Against Cancer - Rubber Wristbands:

While this is a nice idea in theory, the family has specifically asked David's fans not to do these kinds of things and to only keep the family in our thoughts and prayers. There is a thread about it here: http://www.david-cook.org/Right-to-Privacy-t1436.html

I appreciate your concern, but my friends and I who are wanting to do this are friends of David's from here in Tulsa, and if we thought we would be invading on David or his family's privacy there would be NO way we'd do this.
Just to repeat myself for anyone else who is wondering: We are not raising money for David's brother or family. For cancer in general. It is okay for David Cook Fans to come together for a cause... We are not involving his family or brother in this in any way.

I agree, Danielle, this is a good idea, it is in no way raising money directly to send to the family. I'm all for Word Nerds making donations (anonymously or in the name of Adam or the Cook Family) to The American Cancer Society or any other fund directed to raising money for cancer research and prevention.

Aw thanks! Yeah.. I have already contacted the company who makes the bracelets and they are going to give me a price quote by tomorrow. And I posted on the DCFC Forums some charities/cancer foundations that I thought would be good for the proceeds to go to! If anyone has any ideas, feel free to share!

A lot of us agree that donating to the American Cancer Society would be best since it's goal is to fight all types of cancer, and it is also a very well known and reputable foundation.

and just a suggestion the bracelets will be awesome saying "David Cook Fans Unite Against Cancer", but since David's brother Adam is fighting cancer on the inside it would be cool to have his name ("Adam Cook")...

We haven't started a poll for the charity but I have listed some foundations/charities I think would be good.
