Like many others among your devoted fans, I've been listening nonstop to everything you've recorded. Some of the darker songs resonate with me for reasons that are probably completely different than the feelings and situations that inspired you to write and sing them. "Leave Behind", in particular, is something that I would expect someone much older to write, and while I cannot claim any artistic abilities, that song made me want to respond -- in verse that doesn't come close to anything you'd write, of course. Think of it, if you get computer scientists to spontaneously burst into poetic "eloquence", you've already made the world a better place.
Be who you want to be
be who you want to be...
happiness seems guaranteed
until you wake one day
when life is half over
just to realize
that you grew the wrong seed
over the years
in a shady garden
the happy gray of everyday
is shattered by your voice,
you are my oxygen
the fact that you exist,
each sound that you make
leave me no choice --
reality's eclipsed
in unimaginable ways
do what you came to do
knowing you can never
make mistakes or promises
without a spotlight on
every small motion, every tear...
it would seem
the world knows you better
than you know yourself
doing what you do
makes you everybody's soulmate
the answer of all prayers,
and ephemeral as a dream.
you're everything
one instant, inevitable fate
branded in memory
shaped like a ring
please don't ever go away
you can always haunt my dreams
and i'll greet the pain
of endless waiting
with pleasure, for it seems
you are who you want to be
and you planted
the perfect seed
