Thanks for getting Cookie's Girl the answer! I don't get on here as much as I used to! I definately think they all would have made it through and there would have been no drama with them, which even if it does make good TV, I don't care for. I like seeing the good guys get through and succeed whether top 20, Top 16, Top Eight, or American Idol!

I think there are a lot of singers we aren't seeing and who haven't been highlighted yet.
One thing that really irked me last year is that they put David Archuleta on a pedestal and crowned him early on...even though he was good, it made me dislike him more. (well, that and other things)
It just irritated me.

^I totally agree. I liked Archie at first, but after a while it just got annoying how they kept pushing him and pushing him. Now, I have to hand it to him, I'm pretty sure that he's one of the few 'chosen ones' who actually made it very far. That in itself is cool.

I wish they would have more stuff on Brent Keith. He's my favorite. I have a feeling that he might get cut which SUCKS! But I sincerely hope not. Have to watch to find out. Who else is excited for tonight??!!

I saw Tatiana's name on a list for the top 36 either last week or the week before that had been leaked. I'm beyond ticked! Felicia Barton should have made the cut.

My husband watched the whole two hours with me. He even passed up the hockey game! When we saw Tatiana he went "OMG...!" He was trying to pull his hair out but he's already bald. I think there will be alot more people that will need hair transplants if she goes through much further.

I've tried to stay away from any leaks posted. Tatiana gets on my nerves too. I don't think she'll go far cos she won't get the popular vote, that's for sure. Unless VFTW champions her.. ugh.

There are so many elements to this show. That's why I still enjoy watching it. Last season they got it right! Let's just hope this season goes as well.

I can't believe he made it through after such a butcher job -- William Fowler, right? I don't even remember him from any other show, he must have been awfully good to have gotten past that mistake, or else they're letting up on the "forget the words and you're out" threats.

OK I just matched up the calendar for Tuesdays and Wednesdays in March against his tour dates:

Tues 3/3 PA, Wed 3/4 off
Tues 3/10 NY, Wed 3/11 off
Tues 3/17 off, Wed 3/18 off
Tues 3/24 PA, Wed 3/25 off

So he's got every Wednesday off, which means he could fly out first thing in the morning, do the show, then be back wherever for Thursday or Friday's shows.

He's off both days on 3/17-3/18, unless he has something else planned, maybe that's blocked for Idol?

I guess every season has to have its "Sanjaya." Unfortunately I think this season we have at least 2 or 3 of them!

Danny and Anoop are my guys for this season, although I actually like many of the contestants. I even liked that poor Kristen girl who Simon told "You're through to the next round, but I was totally against it and think it's a bad decision." The poor girl -- this was supposed to be the happiest moment of her life, but Simon puts her down and insults her. What a toad.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing Danny and Anoop perform next week. I've got my Dial Idol all set and my Go Phone paid up, so I'm ready to do some voting!

As of now, I'm rooting for Danny and Anoop. I'm not much of an Adam fan though.

And I agree with all of you about Tatiana!

Does anyone know whether David will be performing on Idol anytime soon? Everytime I watch AI, I'm always expecting him to pop out of nowhere!

Me too willow! Danny Gokee is my favorite this season and Anoop is my second. I'll be voting for both of them. I'll also be voting for Jackie. I like her as well.

I can't believe Jamar didn't make it. I thought he was really cool, dude can sing, and he has pretty cool taste overall, I liked his look and I LOVED seeing his friendship with Danny. How can Jamar get cut but Norman/Nick/whatever personality he chooses that day make it??!!! Not to mention dude who butchered TOML lyrics! I hope they bring Jamar back during the wildcard round.

I'm liking Michael Sarver...oil rig dude, just something very endearing about him and his vocals surpise me.... in a good way!

I think Danny and Matt Girard are good. Michael was not too bad either. I guess we will have to watch to see who really stands out.

American Idol just named its Top 36 Wednesday, but you won't get to vote for one of them.

Joanna Pacitti, who has been hotly debated on Idol fansites because of her former record deal with A&M Records, has been booted from the competition, according to a Fox press release. "It has been determined that Joanna Pacitti is ineligible to continue in the competition," the statement read. No further explanation was offered.

In addition to chatter about Pacitti's previous recording career, the singer has also been rumored to have a close relationship with some of the executives of 19 Entertainment, the company that produces Idol.

In Pacitti's place will be Felicia Barton, who was seen being eliminated Wednesday. She wasn't heavily featured on the show, but her rendition of "Put Your Records On" during the Louisville, KY, audition round did create some buzz among fans.

Actually, I read an article that Felicia was reaccepted because Joanna Pacinni (sp?) was disqualified as 'ineligible'. Not exactly sure how that happened, but...?

Does anyone know how the wild card is supposed to work? I know it is the judges pick but I'm wondering if they can pick any 3 or if they have to pick one from each week.

Was it my imagination or were they all just universally horrid tonight? Adam was the only one who was better than mediocre, I thought.

I'm really not liking this one shot you're out format. They are all really nervous and the slightest screwup and they're gone.

I've heard so many stories and versions, that at this point I'm just waiting for next Thursday to see how it actually plays out.

I don't know how to believe and not believe, because even Simon and the producers have conflicting stories. Sorry I cant help you out!

Tonight's show was pretty much a snoozefest until they got to Adam. This Top 36 thing is a horrible idea -- there are waaaaay too many marginal people for the audience to sit through in order to find the few gems. Nick/Norman actually sang pretty well, but how far can he really go with that act -- although I did spend most of my time tonight voting and texting for him just to get him into the Top 12 to annoy Simon. Allison had a little spark to her tonight, but overall the girls are falling way behind the guys. I think Adam, Nick and Allison will get through to the Top 12 tomorrow night.

Norman/Nick was out of control. Very disappointed in Matt Giuard's performance. He was one of my favorites, now I am not so sure.

I'm not liking the new/old format at all!!! It's one chance and then you're gone!! There are only few stars this season, season 7 was the best
I also wonder where is the band?? (don't know if it was disscussed earlier).. I hope they'll appear once the top 12 will perform, They add so much to the show

I had assumed that they were using recorded music, but I read something today that they've only been using a 5-piece band, still led by Ricky Minor, and that they're being "hidden" so as not to distract from the singers. Guess we'll see the band once they move to the bigger stage with the Top 12. But the music has been sounding rather flat and with the way many of the singers have been struggling, I don't think they can hear the music all that well.

LOL! I, too, spent over an hour voting for Nick (once I saw on dialidol.com that Adam was safe), but I don't think he'll make it through. He's interesting enough to make me look up from my ipod. Looks like Matt Giraud may be the third.
Agree with Willow about the band - poor Matt sounded like he'd been abandoned when he hit the chorus of Viva La Vida. I was waiting for the swell and it never came.
