I know, it definitely doesn't feel that long ago... wow. I almost wish he could've been the last Idol. smile.gif But I do love that show...

I agree with you on the 'Adam Lambert Show' thing. I'm just sick of him. YES, he is an amazingly talented singer, but I've yet to hear any of the judges call him predictable and yet he IS. It's like they're seeing through a fog or something - nothing he does surprises me anymore. Every week you know he's gonna change the song drastically, you know he's gonna screech and scream (Where is Simon with his comments on shouting? Adam shouts at us every week!) Or it's gonna be a slow, mellow song, and it'll be good, yeah, but it's just like... whatever. I'm totally over Adam.

I agree with a lot of the Kris/Danny comments... I really love Danny but Kris is definitely creeping up on him to steal that second spot in the finale... man, would I love a Kris/Danny showdown instead of an Adam/some other person finale.

I enjoyed the show tonight, but again disappointed how they show cased Adam Lambert at the end. I feel like even Simon has sold out. I really like Kris and Danny.
JerseyGirl2
well, Adam is polarizing that's for sure, but you can't deny that he can sing. When he held that note forever, I was just like "@#$%!!!" Simon and Randy banter about calling Adam theatrical was pretty funny. Randy calling him out for being a little too broadway, and Simon saying that like whining because the cow said moo. That's who he is. Once you get that Adam is a performer not just a singer, then he makes a little more sense. (Still doesn't mean I'll buy his albums though!)

THis was the first week that I thought Danny showed some life and creativity and not just the same old same old. THe growling and yes the swagger at the end was about a 3/4 BJ moment for me. If he does that the rest of the way he may actually beat Adam.

Loved Kris, as usual. he was fablous. Dark horse, yes, but I think one of the other two have ot really struggle one week for him to break into the finale.

Allison and Matt were btth good, but not good enough.
Teralynne93
I thought Kris has had better weeks... like last week. I was BLOWN AWAY by what he did with She Works Hard For the Money. That was such a classic DC move, changing it up to make it sound like it's a brand new song. He's really been impressing me. Tonight was good but not his best.

Yeah, tonight was Danny's best night in a while. He's been solid for a couple of weeks, but no big moments, but tonight was great.

I get that Adam is a performer, I'm just sick of what he's performing. tongue.gif
Tee
I think everyone did a good job last night. Was it me or was there some serious de-pimping of Allison and Kris from Simon on last night's show? I just didn't get his comments.

I like Matt's voice and have been a fan this season but he's got no chance of winning so I think he's out this week. My favorites are Kris and Allison and unfortunately I don't see Allison making it to the finale, her fanbase doesn't seem strong or motivated enough (or at least not more so than some of the guys'). I don't think anyone will unseat Adam from his preordained top 2 spot but Kris may have a shot of bumping out Danny (although Danny seemed to up his game last night).

While Adam's performances do nothing for me personally, he seems wildly popular (with the judges, viewers and online pundits who discuss the show) and hasn't misstepped so I really think the crown is Adam's to lose. He definitely has vocal chops and can hit some crazy notes but the thing for me is that while I find it entertaining to watch on television, I don't want to hear that coming from my sound system or worse, piercing my eardrums through earphones.
willow
I think Matt and his fedora are out tonight, then Allison goes next week, leaving a pretty good Top 3 match up with Adam, Danny and Kris because Kris has a legitimate shot at taking one of those two Finale spots. And as a waning Danny fan, I'm so glad he finally showed up to play last night!
offkeymom

I agree with you Willow. Matt is nervous when he is on stage and I think the winner has to be able to control them(nerves) better than he has. I still like Kris the best but last night was the first time I liked Danny. I would go to see Adam perform but buy his music? I don't know. He's my 13 YO daughters favorite and she dies when he comes on stage...... I liked Allison, I don't know what was up with Simon last night. She's just young.

I won't deny that he can sing but I deny that it's a good sounding voice. Of course thats a matter of opinion. Some really love it, and some like me hates the sound of his voice and the screeching high notes. His mannerisms and performances are always over the top and theatrical. When I watch Cook on youtube at his concerts and especially the ones that its just him and his guitar alone, (totally naked on stage as he would put it) its just him and his voice and it is so pure and beautiful and moving. I don't think Adam is anywhere near that caliber if he doesn't have all the lights, pimpage and theatrics to go with it.
MomOfTwo
My finale of choice would be Kris and Danny. I like that Kris is changing the arrangements and I'd love to see him sneek in there. Danny could be more diverse with his song choices, but I feel like he works out his grief every week and that touches me. I feel like he is the only one I can connect with because of all his emotion.

I love Broadway and would love to see Adam have a great career there. I'm all for the "theatrical"voice, but I've been to a lot of musicals and I really see Adam in that capacity. I thought about all the AI Alum who have done theater and they did their pop or R & B thing first with albums, then segued into theater. They have more diverse voices -Tamyara(awesome in RENT), Clay, Fantasia, Constintine, Taylor, etc. I never really listened to them and said, "Wow, I can picture them on Broadway (maybe Clay a bit)." I really only get the theater vibe from Adam. Not that its a bad thing at all. He has loads of talent, but I don't connect with him at all. It's about playing a part every week.

On an interesting note, Newsday published an article about whether or not the Christian vote could sway this year's vote. There are several contestants with church ties such as Kris and Danny. The article didn't specify anything about anyone they didn't feel was Christian, but I got the feeling they were trying to make a subtle point. I just hope everyone votes on talent and leave it at that. I don't know if it has had any impact in the past. It certainly didn't impact last year otherwise Archie would have won.

I agree that Adam probably would never be caught dead doing an acoustic gig. laugh.gif (and I love me some acoustic Dave -- have you heard the acoustic LOTM???) But the performances that people talk about are the ones where he has toned the lights and the theatrics, namely Tracks of My Tears and Mad World.

As much as the judges keep saying it's a "singing competition" Simon was actually more right on when he alluded last night to the performance as a whole. Idol Inc. is not looking for just a pure singer, they're looking for a commercial asset. That's why they're pimping Adam and Danny. And if America votes Adam the winner, then it proves that they're strategy was right.

I would love to see the underdog win, and right now I think Kris is the only underdog with a reasonable shot at it.

davidcooklovers44
I was so happy when they said Adam was in bottom 3 and then bottom 2.But, he wasn't in the bottom I think he was just cause he picked a side.I watched this show seen season 4 and NO ONE has ever picked a side. He's such a fake if he wins I am really done with Idol.

Danny lastnight was more then amazing he made me cry once again. That's all I have to say if you make me cry your good.Danny was my second favorite from the start and now I know why again.

Kirs was awesome. He's my favorite this season he's just so amazing but, this week wasn't his best tho it was still really good.I think he might win. He's my darkhorse<33

Adam perfromence was so like I knew that was coming he's just gets wrost and wrost to me.

Matt I am kinda sad he went lastnight he was really good.

Allison she is amazing I hope she makes top 3

So what's the latest? WHo went home?smile.gif

^^^
Matt, Adam and Kris were bottom three, Kris was safe, so Adam and Matt were bottom two. Matt went home.

I don't think Ryan put Adam on that side just because he picked the other side, I really think Adam was voted into the bottom three. This is the point where America has been known to shake things up for whatever reason, and I for one am happy to see it. It means Adam is not a shoo-in, and everyone has a real shot.

Way to go!
david*cook*fan
^^ yeah, everyone at this point has really a shot at the win.
I have to say though, I never thought Adam was going to be in the bottom.
That was really unexpected.

I'm going to miss Matt sad.gif
Teralynne93
I was really happy that Adam landed in the bottom two, but unfortunately this probably means his fan base will freak (because he probably only got into the bottom two because they all thought that he would be fine, since he's been flying through, same thing happened with Michael Johns, etc) and rally and vote like crazy until he wins. And I really really don't want him to win.

I don't know who said it, but something about them pimping Adam and Danny because they would be the commercial assets? I just don't see the commercial aspect of Adam. He's not versatile or diverse enough to have a very wide fan base. Let's look at David Cook, for example (smile.gif, what better example can you have?) on his record, there is a diversity of songs so that everyone can find something that they like. I would hate an Adam record if I ever heard one, though I'd never pay money for it. And I'd never pay to specifically see him in concert.

Danny's still my favorite and he was awesome on Tuesday, I'm glad he's finally stepping back up. Kris is still great, and yeah, he definitely has a chance to come up and steal that second spot from Danny. I just wish that Matt's fans had rallied more so that Adam would've gone home. I think that was our only chance for a Danny/Kris showdown in the finale.

BTW, props to Matt, he's a David Cook fan and he voted for him last season. smile.gif
DC5990
^ It's true, they are relentlessly pimping Danny and Adam and it's really unfair to the other contestants. I completely see what you mean about Adam not being commercial enough. He's got a great voice, but it isn't nearly versatile enough. David probably doesn't have the range Adam does, but he can sing anything (he can go from Billie Jean to The Music of the Night perfectly). I didn't know Matt was a Cook fan... Matt rocks even more now.

You know, I'm trying but I just can't get into the show this year. I don't have a die-hard favorite, just people I like, i.e. Kris, Allison and Danny. I'm trying to understand the Adam hype and I will never say he doesn't have an amazing voice, because he does, but he's predictable and they usually slam contestants for that. Sometimes they way they praise him, Paula especially, it's like they're making him out to be the best contestant that ever walked across that stage. They have hardly ever done that (not even last year with Archie and David).

I was really glad to see Danny did something a little different this week because, even though he's one of my favorites, he hasn't been doing much to change anything. So it was a really good performance he gave. Kris was okay, not nearly as good as he was last year. I don't understand why Simon had to go and ask Allison if she thought she could win and all of that, he could have just praised her for the brilliant performance she gave. She's 17 years old, give her a break. She took that song and sang it amazingly.

I was actually pretty sad that Matt went home. I started the season disliking him, but he grew on me. He's talented though, he'll do things. And I know its customary by now to do that 'pick a side' thing during top 5 elimination and, if Adam has ever watched the show, he should know better than to pick sides. I have to admit I laughed when Ryan brought him to the bottom three side. It was a bit of a shocker to see him in the bottom, especially when they sent Kris back to safety, but I knew he wasn't going. And, when you base it off performances, his wasn't the best of the night. Allison and Danny deserved the top.

Anyway, I'm just excited for Rock Week, and seeing Daughtry on the show, next week!
Cookie's Girl
Ooo! Next week is Rock Week? I'm excited for that.

Seriously, I would've been fine if they didn't eliminate anybody from this Top Five. I didn't even vote on Tuesday 'cause I didn't know who to vote for. My fave was probably Danny and then Kris. And I liked Adam's song choice even if he didn't perform it as well as Michael Buble does. Oh, and I liked Allison's a LOT. I'm going to miss Matt, though, he was just too adorable. And how did you guys find out that he voted for David Cook?

I found that out after watching the American Idol Extra episode after he was eliminated; he talked about watching the show and stuff.
davidcooklovers44
Matt also said when the top 13 had to pick Kelly Clarkson or David Cook Matt picked David I voted for Kris,Danny, and Matt this week I voted a half an hour for Danny only cause I knew he would be safe 45 mins for Kris and 45 mins for Matt. I will kinda miss Matt

Where did he say that? I don't remember seeing it on AI Extra. I'm curious as to what the reason was that the top 13 had to pick between them - some type of behind the scenes Idol machinations? laugh.gif

I'm done now for this season. Just give Adam(who can't do anything wrong)Lambert the crown and be done with it. Put me out of my misery!
DC5990
^ That's really how the show makes me feel too.

Adam is amazingly talented, no one can say different, but to continually compare the other contestants to him is completely unfair. Who else thought Simon was really out of bounds last night, especially where Allison was concerned? He told her to beg for votes and you could see she was upset by that. I thought she was amazing and she doesn't have to beg. The worst was after the duet she and Adam did (which I really liked) and Simon said Adam would save Allison from elimination. Don't you think she's capable of saving herself from being voted off?

The judges just aren't judges anymore. Over at the AI forums someone called the cheerleaders and that's basically how it is. They have their favorite, they're going to pimp him and make it seem like the others can do nothing to beat him. It also annoyed me when Simon said that Danny was better than Kris during the duet. First of all, they shouldn't have been judged on that. It should've just been something fun for them. Second of all, Kris is by no means a rock singer (as Randy pointed out) but he gave it his best and I thought he was pretty good. The contestants must hear what the judges say when they're 'critiquing' so for Simon to say at the very beginning of the show that no one could top Adam, the other contestants must take at least some of that personally.

*Reads over post* My problem is really with Simon, not Adam. I think he's very talented, but it's the judges that ruin it all. (Kara was basically drooling over him last night 'You're a rock god!!' I always thought Chris Daughtry was the original 'rock god' on AI?). Speaking of which, at least Daughtry will be on the results show tonight, that's something to look forward to!
JerseyGirl2
Once in a while you find a nugget of truth in what the judges say. Kara was right on when she said that Danny took the swagger comment from last week a little too far. It did not suit him, he doesn't do screams well, he doesn't do rock well. I cringed when I heard he was doing Dream On, that's the song MJ got kicked off on last week, and I'm thinking maybe he could go this week. He should have stuck to a rock ballad.

I'm actually worried for Kris. I thought he did well, but Adam and Allison were better, and I don't know that Kris would beat Danny out.

Adam was totally in his element. That's where he belongs, doing hard over-the-top rock. I enjoyed it.

And I really really enjoyed the Adam/Allison duet (I guess you can tell I'm a rock-chick at heart smile.gif ) Well done, and they obviously had a blast. And while Simon may have been a bit crude (or rude, if you prefer) in his statement about Adam saving Allison (and since when is his being crude/rude anything new?) I have to admit that he may be right, I totally had Allison slated to go this week but not after seeing that duet. And that duet would have not been as good as it was if she was singing with Danny or Kris, Kara again was right that they pushed each other to be better.

I kind of like the idea of the duet. That can stay for next year. It's obvious that they are making many changes from last year's format to accommodate the time needed for the extra judge. By week 5 they were doing 2 songs each; the duet fills the time without causing them to go over. So probably next week they'll only do two songs each instead of three.

Daughtry tonight (squeee!) Heard the new song on PLJ today, should be good.

Furthermore, I believe rock week was by design to make sure Adam was in his element. It's true Kris and Danny were not in their comfort zone. But take Adam out of his comfort zone as well and you have a train wreck (country week). Also Adam got to open and close the show. angry.gif

Chris Daughtry looked good. Like the song.

What a pleasant surprise to see David on his homecoming. smile.gif

Glad Kris stayed, sorry to see Allison go but I guess it was inevitable, she just didn't have the fanbase. Judging from my gut reaction when they announced Kris was staying, I would have to say I'm probably rooting for him the most.

Me too. It was funny, I was hootin' and hollerin' and its not even like I'm this major fangirl or anything, LOL. I'm just a sucker for the underdog and I didn't like the way things went down for him on Tuesday. If he makes it to the finale, I'm going to vote for him.

I was sorry to see Allison go, I really like her voice and hope she gets picked up by a label. She blew the roof off the place with her sing out and she had so much confidence as she walked around signing to the judges, hugging them, touching hands with the fans. I think if she had shown that kind of confidence and swagger earlier on she may have developed a stronger fanbase.

I like Daughtry's new song and I think they sounded/performed well last night. Certainly he sounded better than No Doubt (who I like and was looking forward to but didn't think sounded that good) or that flashback to Paula Abdul's heyday (WTF was that?). I didn't watch Chris' season but it was funny when he made that comment about getting over his shocking boot in 30 seconds, there seemed like a moment of silence and Ryan seemed to not know what to say for a second before Chris continued speaking. Was he being cocky? I ask in all honesty because I've seen a lot of comments about him that he's arrogant and cocky, I've never seen him in an interview so all I know about him is his music.

I like the new Chris song as well. But I did notice he seemed to really strain when trying to hit the high notes. I don't think the high notes comes as easily to Chris as it does for David. But I still liked the song and performance.

I'm like 10 posts behind so I'm gonna reply with a bunch of thoughts that came to mind after I read all of your guys' posts...

I'm really sick of Adam. He is so talented, it's true, but the personality is not there for me, and I'm just bored. His performance on Tuesday WAS his best in a while, granted, but I'm just really tired of the same-old same-old from him. I was really nervous when Danny said he was doing Dream On (It immediately popped into my mind, too, that it was the song that MJ went home on) and that was his worst performance. I am SO glad that everybody rallied and got Kris and Danny through to the top 3.

I was sad to see Allison go, I really loved her. I think she's going major places and I take comfort in the fact that Kris, Danny, and Allison will all have longer and better careers than Adam, even if he wins (still hoping he doesn't)

I've got to agree about the judges... what is with them?? They're not even JUDGING. I think Simon is the person that has disappointed me the most, because we're all so used to him being so honest and so blunt and saying what no one else will, but all he's done is worship Adam like all the rest of them. And Kara, please, a rock god? Whatever. Paula's been over the moon about Adam for forever and I'm just SICK OF HIM. He just acts like he's already won the entire thing anyway.

Results night was weird for me... I was nervous for Kris and Danny, ecstatic that they're both still here. No Doubt was strange, I like them but it's weird to watch them perform... sorry to Paula but I'm not a fan of her music, and Daughtry was pretty good, though he DID sound strained to hit the higher notes.

Alright, that's all I have to say. Looking forward to the homecoming tapes for Kris and Danny, couldn't care less about Adam. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I have to disagree. Although I wish David could be the American Idol every year(he always will be to me!), there is going to be a new one. Adam is in a class by himself. He has a range that no one else comes close to and he has the originality. I love Danny and I am rooting for him as well. But Kris-although he is adorable, I don't think he has a distinctive voice and style. I was very surprised he stayed. Allison has much more talent. This is when the popularity over talent comes in. The younger fans love him, as does my daughter. In my office, we all pegged Kris to be the one leaving. That was a real surprise.
I hope they keep the duets for the future. Danny and Kris did an great job with Renegade; Adam and Allison were
fantastic. That innovation was great for Idol.

I agree and I'm going to make a prediction. Adam will win. But on top of that, his coronation song will be edgier than the bubble gum type of song everyone else has had to deal with. I haven't heard anything this year of a song writing contest like last year. I believe they are already working on just the right song for Adam so it will sell well for sure. I think it is going to be just part of the whole manufactured thing pushing Adam. Sorry to all the Adam fans, but it's just my opinion about this.

Wow, I was so out of sync with the judges this week -- what they loved I hated and what they hated I loved! I thought Adam was okay, but not his greatest performance ever. It was his usual strutting and posturing, we've see it before and better during Satisfaction and Born to Be Wild. I liked Allison in the beginning, but I think she's gotten worse. I don't understand the hype. Actually, I don't understand anything she sings. On the other hand, I loved, loved, loved Kris's "Come Together" and I really hate that song. Kris has an understated voice, not a big belter, but I thought he did a great job. I absolutely loved Kris and Danny's duet of Renegade. I loved the harmonies, but I also thought their individual singing was great, too. Allison and Adam's duet was just a contest to see who could out scream the other.

As for Danny, I didn't think it was as bad as the whole rest of the world seems to -- I can't believe how far and wide the ridicule has gone. I know Danny even laughed about it, which I guess it's good that he didn't let the criticism get him down. Granted, singing the song that got MJ the boot last year (and, yes, MJ did it better -- it was more suited for his voice) was probably not the best idea plus having Chris Daughtry on this week's results show seemed like a bad omen, so I was really worried about Danny. I think he should have picked a different song -- people on the Danny board were suggesting Sweet Child O' Mine or November Rain by GNR, and I thought about Robert Palmer's Addicted to Love or Bad Case of Loving You. But like Randy's A for effort, Danny said he was going for something outside his comfort level and isn't taking risks and trying something new and different supposed to be a good thing?

That said, I think Danny's going to have a tough time next week if he's not on his Hero/Kiss From a Rose type A game. Kris could sneak in there and take that second spot in the finale. I think it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that Adam is going to be in the finale. I actually am an Adam fan and think he's unique and entertaining. I've seen some incredible YT videos of him performing in the Ten Commandments and in Wicked and I know he can keep it below screech-level and sing beautifully when he wants to.

But on top of that, his coronation song will be edgier than the bubble gum type of song everyone else has had to deal with. I haven't heard anything this year of a song writing contest like last year. I believe they are already working on just the right song for Adam so it will sell well for sure.

I read over on MJ's blog a while back that they weren't doing the songwriting contest this year but rather Kara is writing the winner's single. I definitely think the winner has a slight edge singing this year's coronation song since the writer knows him and his style so I would think she'd pen a song better suited to the winner's style. She'd want a hit on her hands too.

I like the new Chris song as well. But I did notice he seemed to really strain when trying to hit the high notes. I don't think the high notes comes as easily to Chris as it does for David. But I still liked the song and performance.

Have you ever heard him sing "It's Not Over" live? He struggles with the notes on 'over". I like him, and didn't watch the season he was on, so I can't speak for his voice live with other songs but I don't think he has a lot of range. I do like his in studio music although a lot of it sounds very similar to me.

I've decided to simply put a link to my blog if anyone's interested in my opinions... especially regarding Adam Lambert and this week's show. I wrote it after the performance show... so my thoughts on last night's results show aren't there. Let's just say I'm sorry that Allison went home, because honestly, she was the only one this season whose records I might buy!

Tee --
I've been hangin' out with the ladies on the Daughtry thread here and from all of the interviews they've posted and all of the comments I've read, he's apparently one of the sweeties of the world, not arrogant or cocky at all.

I vaguely remember hearing/reading something about how he was glad he didn't win, something to do with the "idol stigma" that we've talked about quite a bit. Who knows what he meant by the 30 second comment, maybe just an attempt at a joke that didn't quite work.

Scott,
Great posts.
I have not gotten my EW yet, so without reading the story it is difficult to tell whether they are truly pimping him or just writing about him because he is arguably the most polarizing contestant on Idol ever. In all the years I've watched this show, I don't ever remember such a love him or hate him reaction from the fans.

As for your post about his possible rock future. I totally agree with you on all points. In fact, we've had conversations about how the idol stigma affects airplay (or lack thereof). Still burns me up that WRXP flat out told me they wouldn't play David Cook because of the idol stigma, and that they tried to play Daughtry in the beginning and had to pull him because their rock-snob fanbase protested. No way Adam is ever going to appear on one of the last rock stations in New York. And while Adam did a beautiful job on Mad World and Tracks of My Tears, no way is he going to put out a full album of ballads like that. Although, maybe you only need one or two ballads on a rock album to be commercially successful, who knows. <-- That would be a big shock for someone who doesn't watch idol, hears Mad World on the radio and buys Adam's album, and gets Mister-glam-over-the-top-rock-star for the rest of it laugh.gif

Wow this is the first time I knew almost all the songs they sang (I just didn't know the first one Danny did). This was an interesting show.

Simon gained my respect back at the beginning when he called Kara a cop out, because she was. She picked the song! Apologize is a song associated with the piano (the guy did it on the finale last year ON THE PIANO) and the says he shouldn't have done that? Kris did some changes with the arrangement. The original singer usually does the falsetto for most of the song and Kris only did it once or twice. I think he did a great job with it. It was one of my favorite performances by him. But of course the judges, except Randy, couldn't give him any love. When I found out he was singing that, I heard it on the radio and could hear him doing it. I'm not a Kayne West fan, so I kind of laughed when I heard he was doing a song by him, but it was amazing.

I think Danny did brilliantly, but do they always have to go at his dancing? He's a spaz, we get that and I love him for it (from one spaz to another), but he does that clearly when he gets into a song. His second song was amazing and he even earned some love from Simon with the 'vocal masterclass' comment.

Adam... I personally love both the songs he sang but... I loved the beginning of One for him, but then the screaming started. I'm beginning to think that's the only way he can hit those notes. That's just not a song you scream in. It suited Cryin' more, but I still wasn't a fan of it. I liked One a lot better. What got me was Simon actually telling voters to vote for him! Are you serious, Simon?! Why not just shout out 'Adam's going to win because I want him to win!' That's out of line and completely unfair to Danny and Kris (who both did amazingly tonight, it wasn't only Adam who did well and I didn't see him reminding the audience to vote for them).

Honestly, I can't wait for this season to be over. Overall, I think the contestants did well. Can we just remove the judges?

I was seriously sitting here, mentally pumping my fist and going 'YES!' as I read your post.

Kris was amazing. When he first said he was doing Heartless, I was like, um, what? But it was BRILLIANT. I adored his version of that song. It blew the original clear out of the water (it reminded me of David's Always Be My Baby, which made Mariah's version seem so... pathetic.) Kris was just amazing tonight.

Danny was great. I am sick of them getting on his dancing... guess what? Danny's a normal guy. Normal people aren't always amazing naturally talented dancers. It makes him even more real and relatable than he already was.

Adam...gosh. I am so sick of him. When I heard he was doing One, I just went NOOOO because U2 is one of my all-time favorite bands; their music is seriously almost sacred. And he did exactly what I expected him to do. I sat through both of his performances just waiting to hear him scream his way to those high notes, and he sure didn't disappoint (note the sarcasm) I'm just sick of him doing the same thing week after week and having the judges just drool over him and praise him to the skies. And Simon. I am so, so disappointed in him... seriously?? Telling people to vote for Adam?? It's like all of the judges have completely forgotten about the other two contestants who are absolutely amazing and actually show variety from week to week.

Agree with the Kara comments. I was surprised when she started critiquing Kris on the show that she picked for him. Come on. Why not just go ahead and say that you don't want to compliment him because you're just waiting for Adam to show up so that you can lose your head over him? Ugh.

I'm glad Kris and Danny got some love, but it wasn't anywhere near the amount they should've gotten. EVERYBODY NEEDS TO VOTE! Kris and Danny finale, still got my fingers crossed.

I'd love a Kris and Danny finale for sure! They both crafted their songs with such subtlety and were brilliant. I found it kind of unfair that they picked a song for Kris that David A. did so well last year. Kris handled it well though. I also found it interesting that once again an Aerosmith song was selected to finish the Top 3 night. It's like Adam studied last year to see how you win. Not a criticism, just something to ponder.

In an ultimate twist, I would like to see one of the finalists literally sing his face off. I think it would add yet another twist to this season and would make Randy really happy since he's decalared it to various people repeatedly this year. Maybe for a follow up they could sing the phone book, or was that last years catch phrase?

I agree. Also to be fair to Kris, when David A. sang Apoligize, he sang it with One republic and that lead singer sang all the high parts. David A. didn't touch those. I still have the finale on dvd and have watched it only about 300 times. Also, I believe all the fuss about Simon getting Bono's permission to sing a U2 song was just theatics and putting more emphasis on Adam. After all Cook had to sing a U2 song in the final 2 that a producer chose. David just sang it without anything said about getting special permission. So whats up with that? By the way. David out sang his U2 song 100 times better last year than what Adam did last night.

I don't care who goes up against Kris but I want him in the finale. Either way , I think this may be a shocker tonight. OH and agree with last four posts for the most part. A Kranny finale would be the ultimate slap in the face towards the judges... and thats why I completely love it (although all my votes went to kris last night).
Cookie's Girl
Love the idea of someone LITERALLY singing their face off! That would just be epic... I hope Kris gets through!!!
monetluvsdavidc
Kris did it to the finale... as well as ADam...
Reddevilgal_Emme
Yay Kris!!! biggrin.gif
Cook forever
woop go kris and adam!!!

Yay, Kris made it! I thought it was an omen of a Danny/Kris finale, but I was disappointed. But I'm happy for Kris! Oh and was anyone else a little peeved when they saw Katy Perry had a cloaked with Adam's name embroidered in it? I understand they have a mutual friend or something, but come on.

Literally singing their face off would be funny, or actually singing the phonebook (which was last year's catchphrase, I think. They haven't used it this much this year). Well, good luck to Kris and Adam!
Felicity's Mom
Say what you want about the judges, Katy Perry's cape etc. American Idol is (as Simon says) a singing contest.
Adam has the most talent in this year's competition-his voice is phenomenal. Just listen to Mad World and the song from Smoky Robinson week again. Wish it had been an Adam/Danny finale. Love Danny too.
The absolute best will eternally be David Cook-right guys?

wooooo go Kradam!!!!
