OK, so is anyone feeling totally fried, memory lost, wires crossed in the brain (and pointing at said brain with fingers), sleep never happens, food doesn't matter, family non-existent, pets starving??

Oh Yeah, and headphones permanently attached to ears, fingers glued to keyboard, face to screen
Need I go on? Anyone in a similar position?
DCFAN89
Oh yeah I definitely feel that way! I just can't seem to concentrate on anything else.
MellyBelly
It can get pretty addicting can't it? I find that this site is the first one that I go to in the morning when I get online.
cookieisacutie
Ditto to everything said above!!!!

Right there with you. Last week I sent this to my BDCCF because my brain was mush:

(Sing to Jimmy Hendrix's Purple Haze )

Cookie haze all in my brain
Lately things just don’t seem the same
Actin funny, Why? I don’t know
’scuse me while I kiss a rainbow.

Cookie haze and kiss on the neck
I have OCDCD, but what the heck
Am I happy or in misery?
What ever it is, that boy put a spell on me
Help me
Help me
Oh, no, no

I love this! I had fun explaining to my mother in law in her 80's that this boy stole my heart, knowing full well that she wouldn't remember what I said the next day. Glad it isn't just me!

Oh, yes, the cluttered house etc. goes without saying

In the beautiful words of our David...

"I feel sick, I feel nervous, I know just what I did to deserve this"

It's almost 2:30am and I have to be up in less than 5 hours, yet here I sit.
olivia :D
I know exactly what you mean. This is the second site I go on in the mornings; first is myspace to check and see if DC has posted a blog or anything...
annette
I have been listening to the on demand stream of the CD when ever I can since Thursday. I always check David-Cook.org and DCO first thing in the morning, through out the day and at night.
I am really excited for Release Day.

dc4beth
YEAH, I can definitely relate to all the things you guys have listed...

Actually, I just bought THE ALBUM. I was at home already, relaxing and surfing the net at DCO and then i came across a Filipino thread saying that THE CD is now available at a certain store. At the spur of the moment, i dressed up and went to the mall at once, near its closing time, and bought SIX CD's...Imagine that....IMPULSIVENESS......I HAVE TO HAVE IT NOW!!!!....and NOT TOMORROW!!!

I can't find my BRAIN at THAT MOMENT! Just because of DAVID COOK!!!!

missymarsie
It's a wonder that I've not been fired from my job considering Cook is all I have on my brain nowadays. laugh.gif

All of the above.
And family and friends thinking you are crazy

I can't think of anything else besides david. I
think he has magical powers on us all.

Based on the Jimmy Hendrix comment, I thought of this:

(Sing Erick Clapton's Cookie)

If you wanna hang out youve got to take him out; Cookie.
If you wanna get down, down on the ground; Cookie.
He dont lie, he dont lie, he dont lie; Cookie.

If you got bad news, you wanna kick them blues; Cookie.
When your day is done and you wanna run; Cookie.
He dont lie, he dont lie, he dont lie; Cookie

If your thing is gone and you wanna ride on; Cookie.
Dont forget this fact, you cant get it back; Cookie.
He dont lie, he dont lie, he dont lie; Cookie.

He dont lie, he dont lie, he dont lie; Cookie.

Love all your comments.
I just read these to my daughter and some to my husband - and they were laughing out loud.
Now they know it isn't just me going through this.

I'm not sure they are convinced, but at least they are getting the idea.
Of course getting up in the middle of the night to download itunes, watching Fox this am, running to Walmart after chatting online, all of this is contributing to the
My brain on Dave phenomenon
Wow, what a day!
CookItUp
Yes! You're not alone. Right when school got out I forced my dad to take me to Target and ever since then i've been listening to his CD, lost in my own little world. It's absolutely amazing.

Yes to everything (including the cluttered house mentioned later) except the starving pet. I have managed to keep my dog fed. Other than that...laugh.gif

I feel the same way all my conversations have David in them at some point. I was jupping up and down all exited today cuz his cds out, my mom went to Dimples and bought two copies of his cd today one for me and one for her. I just saw on the picture thread he has the #1 album I couldn't and still can't stop smiling. I am so thrilled for him this is soooooo amazing I knew he would be #1. He's gunna go platnum real quick!!! I know it. The cd is AMAZING I 'm listening to it now this is my second time I'm on Bar-ba-sol (My fave song and my moms fave too) I actuly haven't been on here for a while I just came on speraticly a few times a week didn't post much and now I'm back to being on here all day. Weeeee Cookie Crazy Forever!!!! I'm soooooo hyper I've been extatic all day. My brother came to me and asked something about Dane Cook and I was like "what you mean David Cook" and he said yah He Asked me my shirt size but he said the site he was at didn't acccept pay pal so he has to find something else (fingers crossed its David related) this is for Christmas by the way. My brother knows I'm over the moon about David Cook so we shall see what suprises Christmas holds. He tells his friends my rooms covered in pictures of David. My Dad dosen't get it though but thats fine hes not around that much so it dosent matter what he thinks. He's probubly just happy it's not the Backstreet Boys anymore. My mom went to Dimples after work to get the cds. I am thrilled she knows how importen David is to me. Shes a fan too all be it much more low key than me. I find my self being much more articulated in the way I talk when I type cuz of David I like to use diferent words now, wanting to sound more grown up and not so childish. I think David would apreceate that. I still can't spell to save my life though unfortunetly.

I've been in the same position since last spring (when idol was still one).

This is soooo true!

This is a great thread! I find when I'm driving (which I do alot of) I'm only thinking about David tongue.gif Not good since I should be concentrating on the driving. I need to get a bumper sticker that says - Warning - David Cook fan on board..

CanadianCookie
Yup, that pretty much sums up my life! LMAO!

Yes, Don't we all need one of those!

I got some really weird looks when I was shopping today while listening to the album on the headset which is now permanently (no pun intended) attached, then I figured out I was dancing instead of walking!
But the good news is at least I remembered to feed the cat today.

I thought I was surfacing from being totally, hopelessly Cookified when I actually did a load of laundry, but then realized I had to catch up on 581 new DCO posts, all the stuff here on Dash, along with 45 google alerts, 16 interviews, 7 shows on my DVR, and wanting to copy new David pics for a new siggy and of course listening to the album non stop. How are you guys holding up?
Heliotrope
I've had Cook on the brain almost continuously since March. When it reached its peak, in May, I was thinking of him almost 100% of the time, and it was very hard to concentrate on anything else.

I took a brief rehab in August, where I spent a week at the beach and since I didn't have a computer there, couldn't access the forums. I was surprised to find I barely thought of him at all. But when I got back, and began to realize from the tour photos how much more beautiful he was becoming, my obsession shot back up. It's currently at about 95% but the quality of the obsession is different than it was. It's less of a romantic/sexual crush, and more of a metaphysical/spiritual obsession. It's agape rather than eros, and while more intense than ever, the quality is more mellow and accepting, less frantic than an infatuation. I'm not sure if I'm explaining that well. But yeah, I'm definitely Cookified!

So now we have time to catch up and recuperate right?
One more album release party tonight and then we can just bask in his success, get through the holidays, and then start gearing up for the tewer! Phew!

This thread is hilarious. I love it... mostly because I can relate to pretty much everything said here. smile.gif I'm glad people here understand me, unlike everyone else who I ramble to about David.

The new album has pretty much been consuming my life though. I never want to sleep or eat or do anything if it means that I can't be listening to this while I do it. On release night, I stayed up until 3:40 in the morning listening to it, and then I had to get up at 6:00. But I, oddly enough, wasn't tired because I knew that I got to listen to the album again. smile.gif Oh David... the things you do to me (and all of us).
Kitunen
I can relate...I think I've been on here since 11am this morning. And I said an hour ago that I was going to go upstairs to get a shower...yet, here I sit. tongue.gif

The last time I listened to a non-DC or non-DC related song was on 11/9. That was a Toad the Wet Sprocket song. And it only played because "Toad the Wet Sprocket" comes right after "To Have Heroes" in my iTunes library.

OMG, somebody else who has Toad in their library! YAY! I'm a huge fan. I used to live in Santa Barbara, and there was nothing like seeing one of their hometown shows back in the day. smile.gif

But...nothing trumps my love for David.
