i know David commented once that he wanted to win a Grammy and an Oscar, but i don't think he would really feel comfortable winning anything like that this soon. man, some of those comments were HARSH.

From the way I understand it, DCTR is not eligible for Grammy consideration this year and RCA chose not to submit Light On. If he is going to get Grammy attention, I would rather have it be for songs that he wrote and contributed to the record than for a single that was written by someone else and been rather lukewarmly received.

IIRC, Daughtry got three Grammy nominations a year after his record came out, so it is definitely do-able.
DC for PS
As much as I want to see David being nominated and walking up the aisle on his way to receiving a Grammy, it is just not possible this time around.

I trust his management made the correct decision in not submitting him for nominations.

I would think he stands a better chance of winning the Grammys in 2010, after a few more of his singles from the album are released and maybe, just maybe by then, his album already hit the platinum mark!

Chris Daughtry released his album for almost 1 year before the he got nominated for the Grammys. If I'm not mistaken, same goes for Kelly Clarkson. After few years of becoming American Idol and after a few singles were released....then she finally got her nominations and wins!!

* in the meantime, i'll continue my dream of watching David perform at the Grammys and walking up the stage to receive his award and give his incredible thank you speech*
