This is cool! I can set my DVR (again) for an extra 10 minutes or minutes so and NOT miss the last few minutes of the finale this time. (I saw it last time cuz I was recording while watching; I just didn't get to record the ending).

Now I'm rising from the ashes finding my wings

(Since I'm always listening to something Cook, I decided to jot down the current line that I'm listening to at the end of each post. rolleyes.gif )

Annette - You are the girl who always has the latest of everything.......so, can you post, if you know, what time this will be on? I would love to revisit this again - as I think we all would. Wow - how fun. Thanks -

You should definately NEVER erase that - I have it on my iTunes - it's so sweet and showed his total grasp and breath of how long it took to get where he was. That was such a great performance.

I didn't think Cook was going home either. I watched dial idol week after week and he took over the 2nd half of that competition. I knew there were a lot of people who never vote until the finale and so I knew he was going to take the prize. Archie was good but a lot of folks felt he sounded the same week after week doing ballads and we've seen this before on A.I. in the past. I didn't for one moment think his performances on final 2 was inferior to Archie's. Cook stood out and changed the show. His comment after Simon said that he should have done Hello or Billie Jean rather than The World I Know, being that this show was about progression, probably nailed it for him for those who were on the fence. He took a risk and I knew he wasn't going to reprise a song he did in the past because he's already done it. I saved the last three episodes (final 3, finale 2, and the results) and I don't think I'm every going to delete those off of my DVR.

Now I don't feel so weird about still having that on my DVR! I just erased the finale results show like a month ago. Now I wish I hadn't

My fave on Idol had never won before so every week I was waiting for something crazy to happen during one of the results shows (a la Chris D.) Fortunately that never happened smile.gif

I just went into the Fox Reality web site to see if you can find out what channel they're on. Here's the link:
http://foxreality.channelfinder.net/start.asp. You just have to put in your zip code and your local provider, and they'll let you know if they broadcast in your area, along with the channel.

Hope this helps.

I wasn't worried top 2 results night, but I remember I was quietly freaked for top three night...I "knew" that there was no way that he would leave over Syesha, but when they showed his homecoming clip last I started worrying that "oh no, they're gonna tell him he's going home when his clip is over" or something ridiculous like that...I actually completely forgot about my feelings that night until I was watching him make the top 2 on YouTube last week...and I got a twinge of the remnant of that feeling when he was standing backstage wating to get called out for his homecoming montage and then again when he was standing there with Syesha waiting to see who got through. Then I remembered how tense I actually was that night...I think that that was the only time where I was legitimately nervous in an "OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG" kind of way throughout the entire season. I think it's interesting how you can still experience the old reactions to some extent even though you already know the outcome...I still hold my breath every time I watch the winning moment, I got that slightly sick feeling when I watched top 3 results...it's kinda crazy.

Well, Fox Reality is available through DISH Network, which is what I have - it's on channel 190 - but I don't have it! Looks like I'll be calling DISH early next week to check out the cost of (possibly) subscribing.

I have the channel since we switched to direct tv. I would love to DCVR all of them and save them, but my mom would pitch a fit if I kept that many, but I'll have to record so I don't miss any of them, I'll just have to delete. I have Top 4 week until the finale on my DCVR, didn't get it until top 6 week and delted some to make room. I don't have the full finale recorded, so I definately have to keep that one, cause watching it on you tube is not as good and it's smaller. Mine cut off right before he was going to sing. Ryan said something about Rickey Minor and the band and then it cut off. I was watching on another TV and recording on another so I saw it, I just can't relive it, dang it. Now's my chance and that way my mom can see him sing since she was working and didn't get to see it. I wish I knew how to get them off the DCVR and onto a DVD so I could keep them all, blast it.

If you can record tv shows to your DVD recorder, then all you have to do is playback the DVR'd show and record it. I'm not good with the technical details, hubby usually helps me out with that but I know we do it all the time. I certainly intend to do so this time around!

Thanks Annette for the head's up.

I'll be able to get the audtion and Hollywood rounds on DVD now. Even though I picked David as my favorite of all the auditioners, I let those episodes delete and didn't save them. As someone else said earlier, YouTube just isn't the same.
I guess my 2008 was the Year of David Cook. I really need a life. I still have every performance round from the top 7 on still on the TiVo. I just find it easier to click the TiVo remote than put in the DVD's. I have transfered all the rounds to DVD, but deleted the results, so now I hope I can get the results on DVD as well. It is ridiculous how DC obsessed I am.

Waiting for the tour.

Thanks so much for the link Joanne! Just checked and it's channel 177 with Verizon Fios.
There is no way I am not getting the entire season 7 now. I was kicking myself for not
taping or dvring from the outset of season 7. Now if there was only a longer version of
"I'll Be" or "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face"-that would be perfection!

Be careful, I think the link is a little old. I have Verizon Fios also, and when I went to channel 177 to set up the DVR to series record, it wasn't there. Then I remembered that, at least in NJ, they redid all the numbering a couple of months ago and everything is skewed by 20 -- so Fox Reality channel is 197.

Now I'm all set (just have to remember to put them onto DVD pretty quickly because I don't know how much room we'll have with all the other series that we have recording! smile.gif

And I thought January would be down time LOL!!!

Does anyone know if there is a way to dvr shows and then transfer them to a cd or disk? Is this a logical question? It just seems I have all these shows saved with David and with all the new ones coming up I have to delete some. I wish someone would sell Season 7 on dvd too.

I guess then that I need a life too! I have pretty much every show that David has been on since his win(including the finale), and I do not have it in me to get rid of any of them. Plus, I have many of them saved on both of my TVs that have DVRs. That seems pretty crazy enough. My mom thinks I am nuts and that it is about time to delete some of them. I bought a set from an individual on ebay or some ebay-like sales site (did a Google search to find it). The quality was okay - I guess you get what you pay for. Perhaps someone here will record, edit out the commercials, and offer it up for sale. It would be a cool idea if the proceeds went to SU2C or some such charity... set a price to cover costs and still get a charitable contribution for each set sold.

Allison - make sure you don't have it before you call - I have Comcast and the Fox Reality Channel near me is Channel 198.

Thanks to everyone who commented on my dilemma.

I had Comcast add it this morning, so I can at least watch.

Problem is, I do not have a DVR so when we try to program the new channels into the VCR it does not take anything in triple digits.

Now we do the VCR shuffle from the 4 bedrooms to find one that will program the new channels.

Hope his audition is much later today, have no recollection from last season where it fell in the order. I'm sure it will work out before the good stuff starts, but since it's costing me an extra $30 for the month, I want it ALL!
I have every intention of getting rid of it as soon as I can.

And Annette, nothing over 99 was in my original package~we just had basic until today.

I'm too old for this technolology crap~

Thanks again!

PS~gonna owe the husband big time for this one! Have no idea if he knows just why I am so hell bent on getting Fox Reality. He's not brain dead so how could he not?

Missed KLC because the wires were being moved around but caught Brookie. Never saw that audition, those babies were sooo cute. Why did KLC from Texas and Brooke from California end up in Philly? Less competition?

Looks like Jason is in the next segment. Never paid this much attention to AI EVER.

For me they're playing Dallas right now, which means Omaha would be from 5-6.
