Here is the Season 7 Schedule complete with each contestant's song choice(s) and the order in which they sing. Hello is TONIGHT!!!! Can't wait... in the meantime, back to voting for LO on the B94 Top 8 at 8 poll.

Grace, thanks for posting the schedule. All the "melt material" songs coming up from David this week.

Has Fox re-run any other idol seasons? I don't remember any but, of course, I wasn't really paying attention until David.

There is a show called "American Idol: Rewind" where they replay past seasons. I can't say for sure whether it's on Fox or another channel. But I think this past fall I looked up the schedule and it was season 4 (so I didn't watch). I had totally missed season 1, so I managed to catch the last 5 or 6 performers on AI Rewind.

One thing that was different (which I actually like) about that show is that they actually interview the contestants and get some commentary and a update from them during the show, so I guess the original show would have to be edited a bit in order to fit that. I don't know if anyone's ever just replayed an original season as is the way Fox is doing now.

Speaking of editing -- hubby thinks that the finale would have to be edited so as not to go over by the 8 or 9 minutes that it did in real-life. So far I have not noticed any episodes running long, but it's still early. What do you all think? (I still have the DVR set for that episode for plus 15 minutes, just in case!)

PS Don't you all like the "Voting is Closed" message -- like anyone would really try to dial those numbers now! (I guess there are some people who are just passing through and might not realize laugh.gif!!!!

Please don't throw any fruit at me... or... at least remove it from the cans before aiming but I felt so bad for David while Ryan was giving out the numbers because I think that's when David realized that maybe he shouldn't have talked back to Simon...And, to make matters worse, the crowd started applauding when Archie showed up on the balcony. David looked up and then looked down feeling so dejected. I cried buckets.

My oh My...what a difference a few months makes. I also felt so bad for David because Simon really hit him hard. What we know now that we did not really know then is that the David we all know and love would never purposely be disrespectful to anyone. As far as no charisma...gah!!!! We all know about David's charisma!!!

You know, maybe David needed that to step up his performance a bit. Haven't we all discussed how Hello was his breakthrough week? Tearing down the emotional walls and all that? Maybe that was the trigger event?

Yep, the power three-pack (Hello, Eleanor Rigby, and Billie Jean) that turned David into a front-runner.

ODCD,

I agree with you about the quality versus the quantity of posts. I was not celebrating, just making an observation. I always try to post things that are relevant, not just posting for posting's sake. smile.gif

Yep, I figured that was the case. It just made me think about all of those other threads that seem to be about just that - the number of posts someone has made. Oh well... I don't even know how many I've made.

About other re-runs, TV Guide Network has American Idol Rewind. This past weekend they were showing episodes from previous seasons. But I have not come across a marathon like this one.
tracig
So do we know for sure how Fox Reality is running these shows? By that I mean, do we know which nights they are running David's "Music of the Night" performance -- that is my absolute favorite -- and what night they are reairing the finale show? I've been watching every night, and I know they are showing episodes back to back for 3-4 hours each night, but I'm wondering exactly how Fox is working this, especially since they are promoting it as 12 days of Idol. Any ideas? I just don't want to miss the "Music of the Night" episode and the two shows during finale week (when David and David sing, and when David Cook wins).

I've noticed so many little things this time around that I didn't notice when watching it live last year. I never had David "picked" to win until the "Hello" episode that airs tonight. It was this night that I knew he had the right stuff. I'm so excited to watch it! And the exchange between him and Simon on last night's episode actually made me feel bad for David ... I think he was worried after it happened. Now that I've met him and talked to him one on one, I know what a nice person he is and that he would never say anything to purposely offend Simon, and I know that is not what he intended to do. I even noticed that Ryan made a comment about David not meaning the comment the way Simon took it. And I could tell by the look on Simon's face that he was really annoyed with David. I'm so glad Simon came around and changed his mind, and realized what a nice guy David really is.

When does David get his makeover -- e.g., new hairdo? Top 12? Top 10? I can't remember. Just curious.

Go to Fox Reality website and check the schedule for your timezone. It shows the number of episodes and duration for a given date, but not the content of that episode. This website tells you the episodes and content. From there you have to match it up - tonight starts with top 8 boys at 8:00 pm EST, followed with top 8 girls at 9:00 pm, then results show at 10:00 pm.

David gets his makeover before the Dolly Parton theme night.

I just watched the results show from last night. Have the group numbers always been this cheesy or is it just the ones for the 60's and 70's week? And man Archie was really upset when Alexandrea left. And I noticed that Cookie stood on his chair to give Alaina a standing O. I saw him sniffing at the end of the show which of course we all now know means he was either trying not to cry or had been crying.

I love watching this on constant Cookie watch lol

Ryan just said we'll say "hello" to David Cook up next... and of course David makes a funny face. biggrin.gif But I think he goes later because of guitar or amp problems.
Tee
I really like David H.'s voice, I'm not surprised at all he made top 12. I never got to hear him perform during the season as he was already gone when I tuned in, but he's got a real nice voice.

I love that goofy face DC made before the break, lol.

Ok... I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I have really enjoyed watching and listening to Amanda Overmyer. Maybe it's just because I like the rockers, male and female, and she definitely rocks. But she is also so unique.

Carly is on now doing "I Drove All Night". I like her too.
Tee
I get a kick out of Amanda, her voice is distinctive and she's definitely not forgettable. I think she would be entertaining to watch live.

Carly was awesome, loved her on I Drove all Night.

Kristy did a decent job on the Journey song, the boys certainly seemed to like it, lol.
CookieAddict_24
I have only watched a little bit of the girls shows the past few nights. After the guys performed, I turned on the Ohio State-Texas game. I think it's a law in Ohio that if the Buckeyes are playing u must watch! lol

Rabrina
I have watched David performance over and over again. The way he looks into the camera it makes my heart melts.

This was Amanda's best performance. Carly, Brooke and even Kristy did a good job. David H., Jason, MJ and Chikezie all did a good job also. I wasn't fond of Archie's though.

Simon was driving me nuts with his comments. huh.gif

I was sitting here thinking the same thing. It gave me chills to think about what he's been through since then. Going by the blogs that Luke has written from the time he was diagnosed till now, it seems like it has made him a better person because of it.

I didn't think I would be able to watch with the rest of you because I do not have the channel, but thanks to Rickey(of course) I am able to watch after all! I was soooo happy tonight after seeing David perform "Hello" again. Just as great as it was the first time!

Did anybody notice the significance of the order in which the top 12 were told that they made it? The guys went first and it was David Cook 1st, Archie 2nd, Jason 3rd, just like their finish in the top 5 for the guys. Then Brooke and Syesha were the top 2 girls told that they had made it (reversed from the top 5, but still...). Don't know if it's mere coincidence or if that was the order the votes came in that night, but it seems like David really did have everyone at Hello. I also noticed that Cook got a lot more exposure on this results show than any leading up to this one. The AI producers finally noticed him. This WAS the night the tide turned for David Cook.

Me too. Did you all notice on the sendoff when he was singing he turned to David and the other guys and mouthed the words "four horsemen"?

I've watched this on youtube about a hundred times at least, and I never noticed the keys on the necklace. Also, never noticed that David was teary at the end when the judges were commenting. But also, he was sniffing pretty much the whole time he wasn't actually singing. So I'm not sure if he just had a cold (didn't he have the flu or something at one point?) or if he was just being our emotional Cookie?

Loved the tongue reaction after Ryan told him he'd talked to Lionel Richie!

Loved Jason's song, that kept him in for at least 4-5 weeks.

To answer the question above, my DVR schedule shows 1 week's worth of shows per night this week. That means BJ is on Thursday, IGB is Saturday. Sunday they are doing 4 hours, so MOTN looks like it will be on 10PM Sunday night.
Monday is another 2 week's worth, then Tuesday they are doing 5 hours starting at 3PM, right up until 8PM when the new season starts. Which of course is a bummer for those of us who are working... Thank goodness for the DVR -- hope my kids don't mess it up!!!

I just watched Eleanor Rigby on Dailymotion - David has the HAWT leather jacket on, This is when Simon makes the comment about if this remains a talent competition and not a popularity competition - David could win the whole thing. Yup - big night for David.

It's right at the very end of the results show version.

Eleanor Rigby studio version came up on the ipod shuffle this morning, I've almost forgotten how the performance version goes smile.gif It will be fun to watch part two of the power 3-pack....

If I remember correctly, didn't KLC try to put some silly country spin to the Beatles? Or was that next week (tomorrow)? She'd actually been doing better than I remembered up to now but I think this was the week she started losing it. David Hernandez was better than her, it was a shame he got kicked out so soon.

As illogical as this may sound, as I watch these reruns, the feelings I had when it originally aired come back and I start to worry that he won't make it til the next week.............and then I slap myself. lol.

I am a Daughtry veteran and that episode when he got kicked off still haunts me. I was so nervous every week last season that it might happen to David.

Does anyone remember that site where they estimate who leads the AI vote by the busy signals? I have wondered when David Cook started leading in votes.

ETA: Okay I looked it up, according to dialidol this is where David stood in the rankings (predictions) from the top 12 down.

Top 12 "Eleanor Rigby" #7
Top 11 "Day Tripper" #3
Top 10 "Billie Jean" #1
Top 9 "Little Sparrow" #3
Top 8 "Innocent" #6
Top 7 "Always Be My Baby" #1
Top 6 "The Music of the Night" #1
Top 5 "I'm Alive", "All I Really Need Is You" #2
Top 4 "Hungry Like the Wolf", "Baba O Riley" #1
Top 3 "First Time I Ever Saw Your Face","Dare You to Move", "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" #1

Not sure if this is what you are looking for (I am not sure were the original came from) - but this was on one of threads on DCO -- it talks about the point spread, ect:

So, the maximum that a song can get is 100 points. Keeping that in mind:

SF3: DC #1 with Hello at 88 points. Jason Castro #2 with Hallelujah at 84 points (upgraded two points at the end of the season). . (Four point difference.)
Top 10: DC #1 with BJ at 93 points, the 9th rated song in Idol history. MJ #2 for the evening with We Are the Champions at 80 points. (Thirteen point difference.)
Top 7: DC #1 with ABMB at 75 (upgraded two points at the end of the season). JC #2 with I Don't Wanna Cry at 59 points. (Sixteen point difference.)
Top 6: DC #1 with MotN at 86 points. SM #2 with One Rock and Roll Too Many at 78 points. (Eight point difference.)
Top 5: DC #1 with AIRNIY at 77 points (downgraded two points at the end of the season). Brooke White with I Am I Said and Syesha Mercado with I Thank the Lord.... tied for #2 at 68 points. (Eleven point difference.)
Top 3: DC #1 with Yo Face at 85 points. DA #2 with And So It Goes at 72 points. (Thirteen point difference.)

Oh thanks for that information annette, I wonder where that rating came from? hmm.

Well, I had to look it up, so I posted the info from dialidol above. It looks like they differ on the Top 5 ranking.
And David was rated #3 after Hello according to dialidol....these are ONLY predictions though.
I use to look up on Itunes whose song sold the most each week, to see how safe David was and then they fixed it so you couldn't do that anymore.

Thanks for bringing this over. I didn't follow dialidol when AI7 was airing, didn't wanna be spoiled, but its VERY interesting to see this now after the fact. I'm very surprised by Top 8 Innocent. That was one of my favourite performances of David's and I had never heard the song before. I don't normally like a new song right off the bat but I loved Innocent.

If you go onto the TWOP thread at DCO they are still panning the performance of Innocent from that night.
HOOK'D ON COOK
I was wondering if anybody has AT&T U-verse. I was planning on transferring all of the episodes from my DVR to a DVD but after I hooked up my DVD burner and tried to record from the DVR to a DVD I keep getting an error message. I was able to do this when I had comcast. Does anyone have any suggestions to get around this? I think it might be an encryption problem with the AT&T box. I'm bummed because I was going to create my own set of AI season 7 DVD's since Fox doesn't sell these.....

I have to admit that Innocent was not one of my favorite performances. Sorry. But I like the studio version much better smile.gif

OK, this may be a stupid question because I never followed any of these polls or surveys, but how can his Innocent performance be ranked #6 for the Top 8? That would have put him in the bottom three and that didn't happen correct? Or was that one of those "these may not be your actual bottom three but one goes home tonight" things? I admit that I didn't watch results shows because they made me too nervous. I watched the last few weeks, but not during the season or any other season for that matter. Any thoughts?

I don't know enough about how dialidol worked, it sounds like it counted busy signals? But generally any poll or survey has a fudge factor -- stats are accurate within plus/minus 2 or 4 or 10 points. So while the results of the poll showed him at # 6, he could really have been #4.

I don't think generally they did any results shows where it wasn't bottom three, but I guess we'll find out for sure when we revisit them all this week. I do remember someone (Ryan?) saying he'd never been in the bottom three, but that was a while ago and it could have been just an observation from the results shows rather than an actual voting fact.
