Here is an excerpt from RCAJosh's blog indicating that only 1% of David's fans are outside the USA.
"WHY IS ____________ U.S. ONLY?!?!?!?!
This is where the music meets the business in the music business, in many countries, we're not cleared to distribute David's content in multiple territories at multiple times on multiple sites. As American Idol is broadcasted in the U.S., that's where 99% of his fan base is hailing from, and it's ultimately the most feasible practice to exclusively premiere content in the country where David lives, tours, is on TV, and has his music distributed. It's our fervent hope that David truly attains the status of an international superstar one day, so while fans have to wait an extra 24-48 hours to have a first look, we're bustin' our behinds to have promotions approved like the live blogging we did at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City."
Many thanks to Brazilian Webnerds and others who go out of their way to make various videos and webpages available to us outside of the US.
I appreciate that this website only relies on credible information, won't post events that are only rumoured etc, however, I'm very surprised to hear a 1% statistic quoted and wonder what credible source was used to calculate this number. I'm also surprised that RCA doesn't think David is an international star. AI loves to boast about how the TV show is broadcasted world wide.
So enough ranting. International Fans, make yourselves known. The upcoming tour has to include cities outside the US and as a Canadian, I hope to see some of our cities with large populations included. It's just a hop, skip and a jump from NYC to Montreal or Toronto. Vancouver is an easy drive from Seattle or even San Francisco. Whatever happened to the January tour in the Phillipines that David spoke about on live radio this past summer?
If we make ourselves known, hopefully the Webnerds/RCA will consider this large international fanbase and not post "USA" only embeds. We usually wait a lot longer than 24 - 48 hours and often only get to see it because other computer saavy fans help us out.
Many thanks to those of you who do!
