Over on the Idol boards they are wondering what David's middle name is...
This post was posted there:
An old friend of David's said it starts with an "R" but she wouldn't tell us. She also said it wasn't Ryan and that we would never guess it.
So I thought it would be a fun game to guess.
Here are my guesses:
Ramsey
Reese
My god I hate have a werid obession for middle names...just tell us already

I do not have a (working) scanner, and besides, I would not want that pic of him circulating around.
And I do know him, but I haven't spoken to him since we graduated CMSU in May 2006.

Since here in Quebec we don't have middle name, I don't know... is there a rule or tradition about it? Or is it just a random name the parents choose? Cuz I don't know much about the english name but here, Roland is an old name (like people over 50 can be call Roland)...

It's really more family thing than
tradition I would say. Some choose a middle name that has been in the family for generations. Others use it as a way to pay tribute to family members from both the mother and father's side by combining it with the first name. It's not like an American law to give your child a middle name

Yeah, the only Roland I know is like 80, but it's still a great name. Names always come back around after a couple of generations. David Roland Cook is a strong name.

lol u wanna hear something funny and ironic?
In the commentary of the "A Walk To Remember" DVD with
Mandy Moore, and they're talking about the wedding scene, they were told to make up middle names for the other person. Shane West chose Elizabeth for her (Jamie Elizabeth Sullivan), and Mandy chose "Landon
Rolands Carter"...
...I always loved that movie, so I pretty much memorized it! ROFL

...but yeah, the fact that she just decided to pick "Rolands" was freaky, since David has said he likes her, and that's his middle name....
...okay, so there's an S at the end of hers, but STILL!

Yeah some people decide to give their children middle names or not. I have many friends with NO middle names. Yet, every person in my family has at least one ( one of my brothers has 3! ) My full name is: Elizabeth Christina Louise Sapone ( christina & louise being my middle names) I got them because i was born a triplet and thw other 2 didn't survive.. so i got their names. If that didnt happen my mom said i wouldnt have one... i really don't know where i am going with this... I am tired :S .. lol..

My mom made my brothers initials (first , middle, last ) match mine so that was kinda cool. She had names already made up so we would match. And it spelled a word so legend had it we were supposed to be rich when we got old. I keep looking for my check.
I never thought about not having a middle name. I just knew when I heard not only my full first name and my middle name in a conversation or yelling from some where I was in a hellva fix. Maybe that is why people have middle names, for emphasis. *just kidding*

Weird....I don't think I've ever met anybody without a middle name. That's interesting.
Mine is Jo, which is a family name, but my little brother, his name is Andrew Ross. Ross isn't a family name, my parents just couldn't agree on a name, so they merged the two they liked.
I like David's though. It's kinda original, cause you don't hear it a lot anymore.

Just a wild guess.
I actually am a badass at guessing middle names, though. Usually if someone gives me their middle initial I can guess it in three tries or less. It's probably the most useless talent ever.
My name is Leslie Diane. My middle name is after my mom's sister. I really like my name. I find that most people named Leslie either have Anne or Renee as middle names, so I'm glad mine is unique.
