Agreed...put up with their schedule and you're bound to forget words too. But, he did manage to make it through after all.

Now if Tatiana would just go home

Exactly. We have to give the guy -- I think his name was Stephen -- the benefit of the doubt. He seemed incredibly nervous and they showed him just learning the song in the middle of the night the night before. He hadn't listened to TOML a million times like we have. He did the Brooke thing and started over again, and did well for about 10 seconds before falling apart again, but those 10 seconds, even though they were behind Ryan's talking, were pretty good.
Fortunately the judges remembered his earlier better auditions and put him through to the next round. We'll see tonight if he makes it to the Top 36. They put Kai through even though he had practically lost his voice from over use. But there is no excuse for putting Tatiana through -- unless it's to torture the audience!! It's not that she's that bad of a singer, but her personality is so grating and annoying!

Poor guy must have missed practice at the AI7 tour concerts this summer!
I agree Tatiana needs to go or at least stop hyperventilating and crying. Nathaniel needs to go too.

So was I, Joyce!
Technically speaking, he was an ultimate fiasco (as per quoted by a friend of mine). Despite that, he made it through. However, I have that feeling that same thing could work against him, come tomorrow's episode.

I couldn't believe he just completely forgot the words. Then he pulled a Brooke and started over. And he still couldn't get the words right! How do can you possibly mess up that song???? When he left I was like "Ugh! You ruined the song! I hate you!" My mom started laughing at me and then asked me what song he was singing.... once I told her, she was like "OH YEAH!!!!!" Lol, I love my mommy!! XD

TOML is my four year old son's bedtime song (along with LO), so I was absolutely cringing when it was sung so badly. Well, I guess we don't all sing it everyday! In general, I don't like it when past Idol songs are sung because they are just not as good as the originals and I feel like the contestants are trying to show that they can be as good as the past success stories. The exception last night was the blind man who sang Daughtry. It is one of my favorite songs and I really liked his version.

it was sad , but then again personly i think people should not do songs of the album off the last year winner or runner up , idk maybe because i feel they might get judged to them because i know i jugde

I agree they shouldn't do songs off either Cookie or Archies. I never got why people did past idols you know you'll never live up to that person. And what was this guy thinking? Oh i'll do David Cook's song that'll be a good idea. It's been 8 seasons and they still don't get that past idols is just death when it come to their performace.

I agree that it's not a good idea to do songs of past Idols on AI. This guy's nerves probably did get the best of him. Ok, since Tatiana was mentioned I must say this: AI, get her off of my TV now! Thank you!

Unfortunately no. At the last minute they must have switched her from a "no" room to a "yes" room because everyone in the room she was switched to including her made it through.

It's funny though, how during the guys interview before they showed his performance, he was saying how, lyrically, TOML is not a hard song. Even if you're not a die-hard Cook fan, it's hard not to know the words to the song. It's played on the radio so many times.
What bugged me though was that the judges said if you forgot the words you were out (or did that just apply to group day?) and he forgot everything. I was just mad because when they were forming the top 36, they let him through but not Jamar (who has never forgotten the words to his song).
Ew don't get me started on Tatiana. I was waiting for someone to tell her to shut up when they were all in the rooms. Get a new personality, or just stop talking altogether, because now that the votes are in America's hands, I can't see her lasting more than a week.

ooh jeez I was cringing so bad while I watched this and was yelling the words to him at the TV...lol. I was like "Oh no! Don't screw up my Davey's lyrics!!" (even though he didn't actually write them...oh well lol) But at least last night (Wednesday) they used him actually singing the song in the background! I almost cried haha

That was an object lesson on how NOT TO SING A SONG. We do not realize how good DC is until we hear somebody else trying to take it on board. What a mess.

My heart automatically went out to Stephen when he forgot the words to TOML. I agree that it may not be the hardest to sing, but given the circumstances -- the last day of auditions, the judges watching every move and note that you sing, add to that the numerous TV cameras rolling, and the people watching you, it's not hard to decipher why he forgot some of the words. Even me, though I know the song by heart, I may be able to forget some of the words too.
Too bad Stephen didn't use the second chance he was given during the first live show. He has a great tone to his voice and I was envisioning him doing a Luther Vandross or an Usher song, instead, he had to go all corny and karaoke with Rock With You.
In Tagalog, we say, Sayang siya.
