i'm watching the top 36 performances, and i find them VERY BORING! i've only seem 3 so far, but i think they all need charisma lessons from david cook! what do you think??

I have to tell you, other than Danny I am surprised that some of them were picked to go through when some one like Jamar didn't.

The only one I liked tonight was Danny but my fav out of the whole top 36 is Nate<3

yeah.. i was defintiely underwhelmed by the performances yesterday. they all just performed "i'm yours" by Jason Mraz and its probably one of the worst versions of the song i ever heard :|. I hope Danny goes through. Other than that I don't really care.

I have to agree. This first round really sucked.
I'm so glad Danny went through. I just can't believe that Anoop didn't. I love the roughneck, but he really did suck last night. For reals.

I was glad that tonight's 3 got through...out of this group these were the 3 I thought should go through...I do like Danny, thought Alexis had a GREAT performance with a powerful voice, and like Michael--maybe not the best voice, but sure has that likeability factor. And all i can say is THANK GOD NO TATIANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! whew!! Now if they could only find a way to bring Jamar back (Danny's friend).....

Ita with everything you said. Haha, I jumped outta my seat and was all "OMG!!!!" when MJ & Carly were on. My mom was watching with me and she was like "what?" I was like "That's MJ & Carly from last season!!" n she was like "Oh", she had no idea what was goin on & it took her a min to remember them cuz she's got a slight case of altzheimers. Then she said "I wish they had David Cook on instead of them." and it made me grin and agree. But I was still excited to see MJ & Carly. Makes me get so nostalgic thinking about the tour. *sigh*

All I can say is that MJ and Carly sure could give this new bunch a few pointers. They were great.

Maybe I'm burned out from last season, but I'm am viewing this season with very little little interest. Clearly, Danny and Alexis were better than the rest last night. Nobody was really close to touching them. I figure they will select Anoop for the wildcard competition.

I absolutely agree with everything you said. I loved seeing MJ and Carly so much that I teared up! They are just so much better than any of the Tuesday performances. To be fair, I only caught bits and pieces of a lot of the performances and caught all of Danny's on YouTube. I really don't get much out of this group at all, except for Danny and a couple of others.

The funny thing is because I have been so disinterested, I don't know a lot of faces, so out walked MJ and I said, "Oh my, that guy is a CLONE of...oh...YEAH!"

I think part of why I am disinterested is not only because I loved everyone and the diversity of performers last year, but because I feel like the producers really wanted to have more drama this year. Hence, the sing-offs, return of the groups, the charicatures (Normal Gentle, Tatiana), and the whole Joanna Pacitti mess. For me last year was all about the music. I keep up with everyone, like they are old friends. I'm interested in buying their albums (can't wait for MJ and Brooke's). I can't say that about anyone here this year at least not yet. I really love Danny, but I have to see more. He's still my favorite though.

Its definitely entertaining, but there isn't a standout for me yet.
David Cook was just the perfect Idol in every sense that I can't help comparing these contestants to him.

Danny Gokey was good, but not as good as they were making him out to be...at least for me.
I liked Alexis Grace the most from that one performance. She showed the most star quality. imo.
and yes I think Anoop will get picked for the Wild Card round and hopefully pick a better song. I really really didn't like his choice. I was so disappointed.
Speaking of songs, I just didn't like their song choices at all, for the most part.

I shrieked when I saw Carly and MJ! They looked fabulous. Can't wait to hear their albums.

I echo all your sentiments about the first batch of twelve. Most of them bordered on awful and I had to think back and tried to remember how they sounded during the auditions. Most of them sounded better then than they did two nights ago, what a trip!

I hope that Anoop and Jamar gets picked for the Wild Card. Tatiana, though she has a decent voice, IMO didn't deserve that spot in the top 36 what with all the drama that overshadowed her. And Michael, bless him but he messed up a great song with his bazillion runs, it wasn't even fitted for the song.

Oh, and despite my headache, I squealed and jumped out of my seat when Ryan called out Carly and MJ! Those two have chemistry big time! I hope that they do a duet too, they definitely sound and look great together.

I kinda miss seasons 5 and 7. S5 because that was the first one I ever followed and the talent pool there was awesome, like S7 too.

I am looking forward to Matt Giraud in this next group, I liked his previous performances.
