Danny is such a sweetheart. Way back before the Top 36 were chosen, I added Danny as a friend on Facebook (his account has been taken down due to AI rules), and PM'd him, because I had just started my fansite for him and wanted him to know about it. I also wanted to ask him some questions about his foundation. I didn't really expect to get a reply, but I did, and not only that, he said he'd rather talk to me on the phone than over PM's. Talk about spazzing! I had to write down all my questions in case of brain freeze. I Pm'd him my phone #, and the next day, guess who called me! Well, we spoke for about 25 minutes, and he is every bit as sweet and humble as he seems on the show. And also, straight from the horse's mouth--he's a huge David Cook fan. He said Cook was the only person he ever voted for on Idol.

Wow....what an awesome experience! I have loved Danny since I first saw his audition. The other reason is because we both are from Wisconsin and he has cousins who live here in GB.

First Danny was like the second coming of Christ and they pimped him and then there was backlash because people said he used his wife's death for pity votes.

Then "suddenly" some of the posts on the AI site (like 20,000) just disappeared.

I joined the Danny Gokey Fan Club on the AI site. Is yours a different site? I'm still voting like crazy every week for him. Regardless of how he sings....he has my full support.

I talked to Andrew Cook on the phone two weeks ago Saturday. that was pretty awesome. I forgot about his radio show on the KS City station. He was so cute! I thought the phone line would be really busy. I dialed and it rang about 10 times and then was picked up. I thought I had the wrongnumber because I got through so easy. I asked to whom I was speaking and he said "This is AC...Andrew Cook!" He told me I have an accent because I'm from WI. He asked about football and went on and on for about 3 minutes telling me about his roommate and football and just funny stuff. He is SO easy to talk to. I could sit and talk to him for hours.

I'm on Twitter and I wanted to "pm" him but he isn't taking "followers" so I can't "PM" him. If you find his place that I can give him my phone # and talk to him. Plus, my sister (lives in Chicago and works for Acxiom) informed me that Kris Allen's wife works for their AR. site. Since Kris's wife has been in Hollywood, my sister has been traveling alot back/forth to AR. as they are both Directors.

What a great experience you had with Danny. He is gem and I'm not surprised he loves David. I'm sure he will have success no matter what happens on Idol.

That's really neat that Danny would take the time to make the time to talk to you. Very personable and thoughtful of him!

It was me who wrote this. Keep in mind this was before the top 36 were chosen, and when his facebook and myspace were still up. They have strict rules about direct contact with fans once the top 36 are chosen, but I'm sure the idols can still access the forums, even if it's frowned on.
Danny was really sweet though. I feel blessed that I was lucky enough to speak to him in person when it was still a possibility.

but to say it out on face book where millions can read it and then also being on american idol it sounds like he is trying to get cooks fans or ai watchers, on his side. to vore for him so he wins.

That's so cool! I've loved Danny since first auditions. I added him as a friend on Myspace before Top 36, but of course we can't get in touch with him through that now. Wish I had gotten to talk to him before he made it through! Not surprised he's a Cook fan.

And I believe that he's a DC fan, it's hard not to be, isn't it?
