Ok so I'm thinking of getting one to celebrate my college graduation. I want to get one on my shoulder. Can anyone give me an advise on how much it hurts. I've been told if it's on a "fatter" area it doesn't hurt as much so I'm thinking shoulder would be pretty bad. I'm just scared I'll get one dot done and it'll hurt too bad so I'll chicken out and end up with a colored frickle. lol Can anyone who has tattos give me some advise? I have vicodin for migraines so I was thinking if I took one before I got it doen it would ease the pain.
Any advice?

Well I never gotten a tattoo but my mom she has one of her shoulder (back) and she said she fell asleep while getting it so I guess it doesn't hurt that bad.

I have two tattoos--one on my shoulder and the other on my ankle. I would say the one on my ankle hurt more than the one on my shoulder. I would equate the pain to be similar to being slapped on a bad sunburn. Everyone tolerates pain differently so you know your own threshold of pain. It is worth whatever pain you will feel.

I have one on my sholder and it didnt hurt at all. I was all like clenching on to my best friends hand and I didnt even know when he started

But if your looking about peircings thats a different story lol. I got my nose peirced which wasnt bad at all
But I got my industrial and that is the most pain I've ever felt. Def dont get it if you dont have a high pain threshold.

I have a pretty low pain tolerance and I have 2 tattoos. One on the top of my foot and one on my ankle. I found that the outline wasn't bad, but it was the colouring in that hurt the most.
I compare it to a cat scratch. It makes you want to pull away, but you don't because you know you will have this permanent line across your body!! Haha.
You could try popping pain killers 1/2 hour before you go if you're worried about it. It might help.

I got my belly button pierced and it literally felt like the guy was ripping out my intestines when he did it. As a result of that, I was so nervous when getting my nose pierced. But I didn't even feel the guy do it. He was like 'done' and I didn't believe him until a tear rolled down my cheek! Haha.

I warn you, tattoo's are addicting. I've been wanting to get another one ever since I got my two done. Thank goodness I don't have the money to!

I have 3 tattoos. The one on the back of my neck, didnt hurt at all. It only hurts when their done and they put that damn cold stuff on it. It feels like a sunburn. But it's all worth it my dear!!!

You should definitely go for it although I will forewarn you that once you get one, you'll want another one. I have one big one on my left ankle that hurt like a Mutha but I do want another one. I think mine was so tender because it is right on that ankle bone. The guy that did it kept calling me a pain in the ass because I kept skirming. Apparently I'm not good with pain. Go figure. It's weird cause I didn't even blink when I had my tongue pierced!
