Hey to all Pittsburgh AI fans, especially to those that are rooting for David Cook! Anybody interested in going to the show here on 7/29?? Let me know...I only live about 10 minutes from Mellon Arena!

Pittsburgh is one of the places I'm thinking about... it's four hours away, but so is everywhere else! And this one is two days before my birthday -- so that might get me something? right?

yea. i am a pgh david cook fan. i love mellon arena. i have seen AI 4 and Justin Timberlake there.

things are def. yet, but im trying really hard to make it to this show! none of my friends watch AI though so its hard to get someone to go with me!! I live in MD and when they come, ill be in Disney World for my birthday! AHHH! worst timing ever! pitt is a 4 hour drive so i really am trying to find someone to go with me ...its hard though!

I've gone to the past three Idol tours that were in Pittsburgh and it was GREAT! And plus, I love Mellon Arena

Hi Pittsburghians!!! Just wanted to say hi to you. I was born in McKeesport and grew up there, I'm living in Dallas now. I love walking around "Cowboy" country in my "Steelers" attire, they hate it and I love it!!!

Wearing Steelers gear here is very interesting, people look at me like I'm insane, but there are a ton of Steelers fans down here and we all love to flaunt it. I actually had a guy open a door for me one time and after I walked through, thanking him he replied,"oh hell, I didn't see your shirt, go back outside so I can lock you out." (he was laughing as he said it) I said, "Jealousy will get you no where, my friend.."

I want to go.
It's two hours away for me though.
I guess I'll have to beg.
Maybe someone will eventually take me if I beg enough.

Wow, "Cowboys" country, ugh, That sucks. Well, I must tell you my "story" then. I'm a Philadelphia sports fan, so walking around here in Phillies, Flyers (especially since we're playing you in the play-offs...), and Eagles gear is interesting...I love it, though.

Off the topic for one sec...although I am not a huge hockey fan (I LIVE for football), you are a FLYERS fan???!!! And you call yourself a David Cook fan, too??? AAGGHH!!!! LOL Just kidding...I'm trying to get as many of my friends as possible to go to the show, but I know none of them will be daring enough to do what I want to do (hang around by the buses, etc). Are you--or anyone else going to the Pgh show--willing to do something extra to meet our man??? It's so worth it--I met my favorite band, the Goo Goo Dolls, a couple of years ago, and it was the best night ever! LET'S HAVE SOME FUN ON 7/29!!

I was hoping I can meet them this year since it would be so amazing to meet them all, especially Cook.
I need to ask my mom what we are doing since it's only going to be me and my mom ...my cousin usually comes with us to the Idol tour but he can't this year because he'll be on vacation so maybe my chances to meet them are somewhat better than if my cousin came along.

I'm about 3-3 1/2 hours away from Pittsburgh and that's were my daughter and I plan to go....
I'm a HUGE Steeler Fan and I'm hoping to hit training camp on the way home...

My hubby actually suggested it because he doesn't want my daughter (she's 6) and I going to Washington DC at night so away to Pittsburgh we'll go!! Can't wait!!

I went to the Mellon Arena last year for the Idol tour. This venue is a primo location for meeting them and getting autographs! There is a small fence but it's not so high that you can't lean up against it to get a picture. Last year, all 10 of the Idols came out and signed before and after the show there!

Hey, do you know how the seating is a Mellon Arena? I went ahead and purchased tickets this morning and since I couldn't get close enough on the floor (Since Sydney's going I was afraid she wouldn't be able to see)
I purchased Tickets in Sec W IGL4 Row E---got any ideas if those are decent seats?

Saw Dixie chicks at Mellon Arena a few years ago, and if it weren't a couple of really nice ladies, my sis and I may have never gotten out of there alive!! LOL But I live a few hours from Columbus, Cleveland(closest), and Pittsburg, and I'm not sure which one to go to, so I looked on this thread. And you all started goin' all BLack and Gold on me and I can't handle that. I'm a Browns Girl from way back!!

the dark red are Igloo seats they are very good seats...they overlook the stage and it's a great view so you can see everything.

I couldn't get floor seats close enough for my daughter so I did end up with igloo seats in sec W-4....
I'm guessing from what you said they are good seats? I was going to try again to get floor seats but maybe I don't have to?

only reason I like the Igloo seats is because when you are on the floor, people are sometimes standing for a lot of the show and I had to experience that at the Season 4 tour, and I couldn't see most of the time and it was frustrating for me. so from the Igloo seats you can see above them and see the Idols close. and from what the stage is supposed to look like it's going to be so cool. here's two shots that I had from last year's tour from where I was in the Igloo seats (and I have a pretty strong camera so I can zoom in pretty far)

I had read somewhere that you also have access to the Igloo club? Restrooms, Bar, Fan Stand and such if you have Igloo seats? That sounds pretty good too!

I think we do...I remember one year we walked through this little place that had drinks and food and stuff, but I can't clearly remember

I really want to go early so I can meet them when they arrive, but trying to convince my mom to go early is going to be a challenge, since I'm not sure if i want to stay after the concert since I know it's going to be crowded with people and if I want to go early, I could possibly meet them and actually get a chance to talk to them and stuff.

I would REALLY love to get there early and catch them as they arrive, so maybe as the show gets closer (is it still only May?? LOL!!) we can make some plans with everyone to meet there--I live about 10 minutes from the arena. Sound good??

i really, REALLY want to go to this show, i'm having trouble finding good tickets...hopefully some will start showing up on ebay soon. but regardless, i'm going, even if i have to sit in the nosebleeds. i'm definitely planning on being at the arena early... probably around noon. hopefully the friend i'm bringing won't mind...heh heh heh ;-)

but anyways, july 29th is too far away!!! i'm excited because every time i've gone to the AI concerts at mellon arena, i've met all the idols. so we have a pretty chance of meeting our man!!!

Hey there! Since I will be losing my AI tour virginity (LOL!) this year, how have you met them? What part of the arena do we need to meet at, to greet the buses? Thanks so much! Dyann

i met them before and after the show, by waiting by the busses. there's this big long fenced in area that you can wait by, and they usually come by and sign autographs/take pics and stuff.

I went to this venue last year for the Idol show and it is AWESOME for meeting the Idols. As previously stated, there is a really long fence right near where the buses pull in from the street. Several of the Idols came right over shortly after they got off the buses.
